I keep all my money in cash at all times so I KNOW if someone bank tipped the money. The cash/bank is a leftover from corpse runs there is no reason not to carry all your money around with you

You know this isn't anything I actually considered until I read your post. If I remember correctly, the email comes from the person who bank tipped you, and not from the bank like it should. The subject of the email and the text inside can all be faked too easy. lol. This is bad.

There's 2 ways I can see it being fixed by the Devs:

1) change the senders name to be the bank instead of the player.

2) put your bank balance in the email so you know how much was added and how much you have now.

Ok that would be easy ways to fix it. But, this is probably how it will really happen from SOE:

1) they develop some new authentication certificate and encryption method, a new authentication certificate GUI, and a new database and server farm to hold all this information. (also requiring another Gb of ram and a new video card)

2) they work on it for 3 more months andthen disable bank tipping.

The capitalized letters doesn't hold true anymore. After Publish 7 all the emails use lower case. Its easy enough to test. Bank tip a friend and ask them to review the email. I'll bet you real money the email is lower case.

People on my forum discovered this early out. I was bank tipped and told the guy I didn't receive the money. He bank tipped me again. Both times the email was in lower case. I saw my account balance increase. I tipped the second amount back to him.

There is no way to know unless you review your account balance prior to the tip. I don't accept bank tips anymore. I put everything on my vendor, even when the person is standing right next to me.

The form name in the email should be yours if it is system generated

I've had a similar problem...

An asshat newbie master doc by the name of Owhis on Bria took my 10k bank tip and accused me of faking it.

After calming telling him to check his bank account he proceeded to tell me I was on his ignore list.

Needless to say I /reported him and sent a exploiter ticket via the holocron. Got a CRS response within 1 1/2 hrs.

I think something needs to be done about bank tips E-mails... how about bank tips E-mails come in a color and/or some sort of SWG logo.

Anyways, anybody who is on the Bria server watch out for Owhis. Pathetic when someone has to steal some measly 10k LoL

I sold a bantha mount to a guy yesterday evening and he apparently bank tipped me. I didn't see a message in my spatial window because I'd gotten jumped by a thug and another guy was fighting one nearby. However when I compared the email I got to one I got from guildmate earlier that evening to pay guild dues they were apparently identical.

However I would rest easier if the email came from some entity which was unfakeable.

Simple. I pull out my PDA, log in to the internet via Cell and log onto my Banks web site. I click transfer, click transfer to another bank, enter the banks routing number, the persons account number, and the ammount of the transfer. Then I click OK. It only costs me about 3% of the transfered ammount though.

What they need is a transfer log in the SWG directory on your harddrive.

And even after all this, there's an epidemic of buffing Doc's that insist on bank tips now and will not accept any other form of payment, lol. There was even one that said, "so what, did you know that I check my bank balance mate?" I doubt he did it after every buff or bank tip.

And for a joke I "bank tipped" 22445562677276535553 credits. The response was "I didn't get the money", lol.

so if the person has no last name, the only way at the moment is to know your bank account status before you get the tip.

Sorry guys just one more question. Have any of you had to deal with CSR after a shady banktip experience? Say someone tries to banktip half of what I asked for right after I see that amount in the trade window, they suddenly change their mind and try to banktip me half that, does CSR have a right to come down on me because I just end all trading right there, not even sure if the banktip is real or fake, and is for half of the said price. Should I have to explain to CSR why I'm "fraudualent banktip recipient". Has this happened to anyone else? Scammers who use CSR when their scambackfiresand the creds they've invested into the scam are not reimbursed to them- is this dealing with CSR afterwardsjust part of the trade?
