Thread: Where have all the Custom Pets gone?

Ok, I'll tell you why very few bio-engineers make pets any more. It is because the system is INCREDIBLY frustrating. And the crit fail rates are way way off, at least for pets. I crit fail 2 out of 5 times making my pets, and it just plain pisses me off, especially if that DNA is off cl 55+ mobs, some potentially very rare or very hard to get.

And what kills me the most is the non-ch pets. For example, I can make a 6k/3k/2k cl 10 pet with almost 20% kinetic and about 120 damage on a first gen pet almost every time. Now, that will be nerfed eventually, so I don't want to make too many of them, but getting them down to a reasonable level should be easy right? Errrnt, wrong, my first gen 3k/3k/2.5k vuln to all but a little kinetic and blast are ALWAYS cl 11, I have to make a second gen to get it to 10.

In fact, I am going to be taking a break from BE for a while, gonna try out a new profession. Been a MBE for about 4-5 months now, think it is time for a change.

I find it interesting that no one has really replied to this thread or my thread in bloodfin. It just reinforces my opinon that no one is making pets anymore.

You weren't listening.

I said I don't make CUSTOM pets. And I keep a nice stock of pets on my vendor, as Tiki said.

and.......... in what way does my comment have ANYTHING TO DO with you?

My comment was that no one is really responding to my posts. You are one guy... It was not directed at you. Which by the way you said you dont make custom pets. NOTICE THE TOPIC. Re: Where have all the Custom Pets gone?

Hmm... how does the skin affect the level? I have not noticed a difference in putting different skins on DNA templates other than the minimum levels... like if I tried to build a Kimo out of Durni DNA. I can make very high level small pets. Personally, I don't really care for the overgrown pets like Rancors and Grauls. They look good, but are less functional then say a CL50 gurrcat. In fact my latest creation was a CL72 Gurreck. Am I missing something?

I wasn't saying that the skin effected the level, I was talking about the size of the creature. Have you ever tried going into combat with a CH who pulls out a Kimogila? You can't even see the creatures to aim or have your creatures attack.

I wasn't talking about the skin when I was talking about level. What I was saying was that the risk you take to sample Enraged Rancors and Spider Queens way outweighs the advantage you get from one CL69 over two CL30s.

Also: I think the answer to your question is that most BEs don't want to try to learn a system (Pet cloning) to have it changed in the future like it was with the last BE change. Take a look through the history in this forum at all the research Sumo, Tal and others did on figuring out cloning. It's all useless now because of the changes they did. I personally don't want to put much effort into it until I know it's going to be stable. It's like starting over at novice again as far as cloning goes.

i have two words for ya loonie!

SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this thread has gone longer and longer, just from your repeated crying, complaining, and little fits!!!

who cares about your stupid cats, ya seem to be so damn proud, we seem to not really care.

custom pets? have to agree one something someone else said.

become a BE, and see how annoying it can get to accually have a specific goal for a pet.

otherwise stop crying and go play with your kitties some more.

Interesting comments there friend.

Maybe one day you will get a clue. Ive talked about my cats what? twice? lmao, and they have nothing to do with the point of this thread.

Show me one friggin comment here ive made about it not being hard to make a custom pet? Show me one.

as for your little crying comment, the only thing even being close to a complaint is of having to search planet after planet to not find anything.

Why dont you try a little more reading and a lot less running off at the mouth.

Alright my $.02. I just finished be. Jedi grind but im keeping it for a while. Im mainly speaking for tempest server when i say that if your looking for anything other than armor or weapons, and up until the chef patch, food, your not gonna find it on a vendor. Which has always been my b*tch. My other account is master tailor-merchant so i totally understand why this is, I personally have seen alot of fruitless time and effort when it comes to things other than the afore mentioned. And as far as im concerned B.E. has nothing now, With the new buff system, doc clothes are a moot point, ive only seen the first +25 to it/wt do anything, where before i was cranking out +92 sets and selling em for anywhere from 300k to 500k, the rest of the clothing enhancements are a niche thing, you might sell one this week most likely you wont, and as far as the pets are concerned, Not sure if its the same on other servers, but before they nerfed Ch you couldnt throw a rock out in the wild without hitting someones pet, now the only time i see one is when some jacktard has their kimo laying on the ticket collector in coro *snicker* So where BE had a problem competing for a viable class, that just compounded the problem along with nerfs to its own class. *pulls out a bucket of water and dumps it on the previous posts* Calm down ladies and gents, we're all adults here, and if you arent quite there yet i know you can act like it.

Well what i have seen with most bio enginers in some cases they dont watch some of the stats on the pets and push bad pets on to the bazaar or a vendor. I dont think any would pay 6000 for a pet that hasa few hundred in HAM and weak attacks . Least i have found 3 good bio enginers who understand what to do in pet creation . One of them was cool to do 2 different vendors one pvp vendor and pve vendor with pets on both . The stats on any of the pets was fixed for player vs player or player vs everything wich is the best way to do it.

I'm about to get into bio enginer as well since im near master creature handler level . Being a ch will help me out alot with pet creation since i will have a good idea what i need in a pet at whatever level.

I already got me pistol and rifle skills to 4 , so i can still do some damage and pets can hold the aggro (most of the time) .

Some of the bio enginers that get to master take a break or move on to clothing cause got tired of the dna sample hunting.

Bio Enginer is not a bad profession but takes alot of time and understanding to get something good out.

You can sample enraged rancors now?

I make fairly decent pets but since I can't have a vendor without getting rid of my combat profession I only sell to friends. I don't really make tissues, only pets. And generally only above level 50
