Every server has a different economy. Every architect has a different idea of what "fun" is. Every architect has a business model that suits them.

Please read the FAQ (stickied at the top of this forum) to give you some ideas on your pricing.

I currently price all of my Large Rate13 Harv's at 175k each and I sell 30-40 of them per week. The key is not how much it cost to make but what people are willing to pay for them. CPU should only control your minimum price. Many weaponsmiths charge 100cpu because that is what customers are willing to pay.

Thanks,

The other way you can look at it is this - if you raised your prices, how many sales would you lose? If you raise your price 25% but see a 10-15% drop in sales, you're actually making MORE money because you've generated higher revenue per sale. What if you raised it 30%? etc. On my vendors, I'm constantly adjusting my pricing to strike the right balance.

Of course, and this is a standard phrase of mine, it's your $$$ to SOE every month and you play as you like. However, I price my products that strikes a nice, comfortable balance between money coming in - and how many times I need to restock my vendors. By doing that, it increases my enjoyment of the game because it lets me do other things as well.

For tempest they'd be a bit low:

Small Houses 6k (8-10k)

Medium Houses 50k (60+)

Large Houses 90k (100+)

Furniture 500 credits each...more than half of my business summed up in 500 creds... cheapest furniture items I sell are 450 creds, cheap coffee table (small coffee table) and blossoms, the flowering potted plant.

Factories 30k (40+)

I don't make structures. I can't take all the subcomponate work and storage needs...I've got enough issues storing just resources, let alone a zillion subcomponents.

I would certainly resell your small houses till a) you banned me, b) you raised your prices, c) your stock ran out and wasn't replaced.

I often worry when buying some things for resale that someone will ban me, but it hasn't happened yet. I certainly don't ever buyout 1 cred vendors or anything like that, but if I see 10 small house for 6k that I KNOW I can easily sell for 10, I am likely to buy up 6-8 of them for resale. Does that make me a bad guy?

I think if you buy from one person and sell to another then that is part of being a merchant. I see master merchant in your .sig. Sounds to me like you're doing your job.

I am Master Chef/Master Artisan and just getting started making the artisan components. Is there a pricing guide available anywhere for Artisan goods?

Pricing is pretty server specific. You might ask on your server or server trade forum.

A couple prices on Flurry:

Swoop Bikes around 25-30k

Crate of ranged PUPs 5-10k 9 (depending# of bonus, what bonus, and %)

As for chef I dunno don't buy a whole lot of foods.

I tend to look at how many resources go into the item, adjust by how complicated it is, and just multipy that by whatever cpu I come up with. sometimes, I'll adjust that downwards a bit by how successful I was in the experimenting.

for example, a swoop bike takes 8k resources... set that at 5cpu, gives you 40k. adjust by how successful the building was, so a 90% swoop would sell for 36,000

Hello Fellow Weaponsmiths

Im a new Weaponsmith on the Farstar server and im about to start make my weapons now after collecting some good resources, and im thinking of selling some of the weapons pre-sliced (both damage and speed) and my question is if any of you old experienced weaponsmiths have any kind of formula on how to price them, im not looking for any static prices since they are all different for each server, just want an idea on how i should price them myself

Kind Regards

I'm still working on my presliced pricing, I've been working on multiplying the base weapon price by 18 - 0.5 then adding on the cost of the slice.

There are 40 random possible slices so I try to make sure that my prices between 35%-30% damage will cover the cost of the 40 possiblities then everything else will be my possible profit from the slicing.

For example 40 vibroknucklers at 6,000 credits = 240,000 plus 40 slices at 5,000 credits = 200,000 credits

total 440,000 credits that needs to be evenly allocated over 35%-30% slices

35% 108,000 (18)

34% 90,000 (15)

33% 78,000 (13)

32%66,000 (11)

31%54,000 (9)

30% 30,000(5)

-----------

426,000

======

so now I'm within 14K of what I would have made selling unsliced,I should be able to make up the 14k from the lower damage slices and speed slices you will inevitably get and make abit of profit.

Most of the other slices will be between 2 - 0.5 depending on the type of weapon i.e. LLC's and Flamethrowers will be lower multipliers for damage because I know I will be able to sell some of the speed slices too.

I usually go with set prices for weapons. Usually 3k for pistols 5k for carbines, 7k for rifles. Yeah there are a few exceptions a dx2 will go for more then the norm, and a dlt20a will go for less then the norm. Then for the slices I go 1k for the teen slices 2k for the twenties slices and ten k for the thirty plus slices. It seems to work fairly well.

There are alot of complex systems out there. Its a tad easier to just go with base prices though. So as not to be doing alot of math.
