Thread: Patch

Do you guys actually READ the CH forum. Ok, I wil admit that BE is probably one of the two, and more than likely the number one broke class in the game. But, I don't see how anyone can say that CH get what they want from the developers. There are more CH leaving the profession, and leaving the game because of the new patch coming down, than any other class. I don't think more than 2%-5% of the CH are happy with what is being done to their class.

Are they fixing a lot of our issues in this patch? I saw the big list at the startup of the game, but nothing about large issues dealing with Doctors.

I personally don't think we're going to benifit any from this patch. With the ability for players to have low level pets, why would they come to a bio-engineer? Unless your a Bio-Engineer/Creature-Handler you can't even tame the thing for them. They'd just skip the middle man (Bio-Engineer) and get a creature that they can use (tamed) directly from a creature handler.

The classes should be depended upon eacother and not Independent! Hrmmm maybe I'll have to give up my Medic skills and become a Creature Handler in order to stay in business. :\

Plus 90% of the CH's that are wineing about getting nerfed are those novice CH's who have Uber Pets and they have not progressed down the line very far at all, and there for lose access to the higher end pets... like the Gurrek and Rancors and Gurals... So lets get them some cheese for their wine....

I know one CH who is looking forward to the Nerf... He is sick and tired of seeing Noobs with uber pets... so he was looking forward to loosing some access to creatures... and watching people cry about not being able to control the Pets...

On to other notes...

We got NERFED badly....

1) sample range checks... wow... bad idea... now when we start a sample and the creature decides to run out of our 15m range it means that we fail on the check... great I fail enough on DNAsample 4 pulls that now Its going to be harder to get the DNA...... The range will need to be doubled if we are ever going to get DNA again...

2) Not fixing our tissue line at all... no descriptions nothing... But the xp Calcs for sampling our deeds have been addjusted so that they are correct... Yeah... this was a good fix... that reward should have been left alone.. I did not know that it was an exploit, I thought the xp was to signify that Oh you destroyed a BE creature to check for genetic stability and well because it was an artificial creature... you got more xp from it... Thats wasmy honest thoughts....

3) why do we fail more offten at higher end DNA sample then we do at low end DNA sample... it should be reversed... Low end it should take you 15 trys to get DNA, at the high end you should pull DNA almost every time.... Look at how the artisan with survay 1 gets a smaller amount of samples, and then an artisan at survay 4 pulls larger amouts, and a Master artisan pulls huge amounts, I had a Master Artisan pull me 800 wild oats in one sample...

4) sampleing our pets, this is a great Idea, I have wanted to do this for some time now... one problem now is will I be able to pull out my Natural Ronto and my BE Brackerset and beable to sample from them with a few skill boxes of CH! Dont know will have to try when the server comes back online...

If you look at the Big List of Doc Issues thred stikied at the top of this forum you should see some of them annotated in parenthesis the ones that should be fixed by this publish. I intend to check on that when I get in today and would appreciate folks adding to that thread thier results on seeing what is and isn't fixed as well as any new issues they find.

I am a CH+BE. And I for one am glad to see the CH taming nerf go in. I wont lie and say im not going to lose any creatures, but only one. I am going to loose a 12k guerrk(sp). I dont mind, i figure when the time is right, i'll just make another one. I will still hopefully have all the creatures i have tamed (not sure how they would explain taking those away from me.), which are enough for me now.

Jordan-Karr - As far as your sampling commands, just do what i did. My brawler macro, taming macro, and sampling macro are all about the same.

/follow;/sampledna;

This will always keep you in range. Works like a charm.

Your other concerns about leveling in sampling are understood. Sampling does seem to get more challenging the higher you go. If were following the surveying example, this means its bugged and they should fix it. But on a whole, the higher you go in sampling the higher quality of samples you get and the more you CAN get from a creature. I have found this to be a bittersweet thing.

Yes i get higher quality, but usually the creature aggros me on the second or third sample and this does me absolutely no good when im on dathomir or Lok, as it means almost certain death. My advice to you is a smugglers spice called Muon Gold. I found that when i am doped up, my focus seems to be better and I get aggro'ed less. This may just be my imagination, but i can collect a lot more samples when using this spice.

eh, im not happy about the lack of attention given to our profession (this patch is the perfect example), but i have given up whining. We only argue amongst ourselves, and it never gets anything done. So, you wont here anymore complaints from me, im tired of pissing in the wind.

In other areas, the patch notes do mention that we can search lairs now, for eggs... that's one thing, anyway, and also there was some mention of overall improvements to experimentation... I can only hope that affects us, as well.

We do not have an estimate yet when this will reach Live servers. However, I can tell you with a large amount of certainty that it will not be next week.
