This does not effect me one bit since our pets suck and I never sell any anyways. The change is great I really hate how BH and commandos can just get 1,1 and have a great pet to tank for them. This in my opinion is the best balancing they have done.

I'm a master CH, Master BE... I'm gonna make mounts for a few of my friends and thats it.

Sure i'll forego the hundreds of thousands of credits.. maybe even millions that the mount industry will inevitably generate, but, i'm gonna be a lot happier for it =)

I'll let all those price-war-Graul-Mauler-Coronet-square CH's sell em. i've done my time there and dont look forward to countless tells and endless haggling with the same people that are getting my primary profession nerfed anyway.

My BE just supplements my CH, sure i'll occasionally throw together a rancor or a few cases of Vit packs just to turn a little cash, but gone are the days of powerselling, and Customer satisfaction is taking a long deserved back seat to my personal satisfaction.

If you play on Scylla and want a mount, dont even ask me.. lest'ye get a macroed reply that says "ask another person, i dont sell mounts"

If you're a BE or CH on Scylla and want my referred business, send me a tell =).

I have a character that is a BE/CH. I'm grinding empathy so I can sell mounts. I'm not going to worry too much about the clone tree. I can make kaadu and spats and still become a zillionaire. I'll probably change my title from BE to something else.

I don't look at creature handlers for a market share. I've never sold a single pet to a creature handler. I was asked once if I could make a rancor. I couldn't at that time. My character doesn't use the pets I can make. Taming wild animals is a challenge in its self and can be a lot of fun. I tamed a baby nuna and named it Chicken.

Lowering the CL for non-creature handlers definitely effects me. My number one selling pet is the kahmurra. Is the effect dramatic? Absolutely not. I've probably sold 15 kammys max. The bulk of my money comes from vita packs, pet stimsand mask scent camou tissues. I get asked a lot for tame tissues but of course that's a joke. I don't even bother looking for milk.

I'm gonna be a horse trader until the horseless carriage comes along and puts me out of business. By then I should be filthy rich.

Wow, this is huge stuff to us. I feel particularly bad for those just starting out in BE because it's going to be tough now to make money imho.

Here's my take on the changes and its likely affect on BE's:

1) Pet stim sales are gonna get crushed, no doubt about it. No more cash cow for BE's.

2) It removes the market for Kahmurras and Gualamas. These two are now useless since they are not mounts, and can no longer be used by non-CH.

3) Carrion spat sales will be huge. Not only are these the best combat non-CH pets that we'll be able to sell, but are also mounts. No real reason to make any other type of non-CH creature other than Spats now.

Cauising CH's to quit CH is obviously a good thing for the game though as that profession has gotten totally out of hand. I think this nerf is overall a positive, but is going to hurt BE's quite a lot.

I think this will really hurt us in a lot of ways for the short term, at least until the cloning updates are added in - and if those are actually worthwhile. Our limited pet sales will most likely be diminished, as well the market for thier medicines too.

At least in my opinion

My main concerns now are when is the cloning updatesto bereleased? I somehow doubt its going to be in this upcoming patch, but will it be within the next six monthes?

Secondly, although I completely agree with the fact that Droid Engineers need quite a bit of attention, I am also bit concerned with the fact that improving droids greatly while having no skill point restrictions on thier use will devastate the Creature Handler class and us in turn.

Lastly if Droid Engineers are able to use their own powerful and exclusive creations, with no additional skill point investment, then I really question the idea of balance for the crafting classes. After all, even a Master Weaponsmith still has to be at least Novice Rifleman in order to use a T21 rifle.

You guys might be in a different situation than me, but the only thing that keeps me from selling twice as much is not having twice as much. This profession is overwhelming. Too much to do.

I definitely agree with you Greenstock. Tissue orders alone have me working two factories overtime. It's all do, besides sneak in a load of petstims.

Good post overall

Couldn't have put it better. There's really no way to tell how these CH changes are going to effect our economy, but you roll with thepunches.Somesort of change to CH was inevitable. But i predict there will be plenty of CH left, just fewer dabblers with 3/3/0/0 so they can use a graul mauler. Couple the CH change and our Cloning changes,(I do pray that our Cloning line changes go in the same time) should be interesting for the MBEs that can make specific CL animals.

Anyway, I for one will keep a positive outlook

No, I don't mean that they are disgusting. I mean that there is a movment afoot to boycott mount training in protest of the upcoming nerf.

If you haven't been to CH boards lately then you are overdue for a trip. The upcoming nerf is already causing the CH profession to hemorrage players, and quite a few are quitting the game altogether. The impact to us is:

  • Overall shrinkage of the creature market

  • Reduction in the demand for high end clones

  • Reduced access to mounts

  • Reduced demand for Pet Stims

There are a number of protest threads that have been started. If you haven't made your voice heard yet it's time to pop on over and sound off.

If I was a CH maybe I read them boards let alone post on them. Seems what effects BE and what don't from CH ends up here at some point. Good for them to boycott. Now we boycott our clone line and who would care?

Also I stil see this as a means for the CH class to be the only non crafting class to be able to sell product. No harvestors nothing. Go out, tame a critter sell it.

Orlander,

Creature Handlers are crafters. The crafting formula looks like this:

Raw Material + Processing = Finished Product

For Creature Handlers the equivalent is:

Wild Animal + Training = Tame Animal

CH's themselves are the harvesters, just like us BE's harvest DNA samples. And yes, they are also a combat class. People tend to see them as one or the other, but they are really both.
