only CL80 MCHs? are you sure?
this certainly frustrates all of the CL61 or so MBE/MCHs out there.
I just saw this posted on swgcreatures and came here to see if anyone was talking about it.
I think I am about at the point of giving up BE. What are they thinking about? Effectively banning MBE/MCH's from really BEING MCH's is ludicrous. That's like saying a master weaponsmith/master pistoleer cannot use a master pistoleer reward item because they can never be level 80.
Might be time to reactivate my WoW subscription. I can't believe this.

Those professions go hand in hand. I'm a crafter (working my way to) MCH so if they want to add a way for me to control CL80's that would be nice too but I it just seems unfair to keep MBE/MCH out of the high pets.
we are losing more than the ability to reach full potential as a creature handler at this point.
those of us that have taken the (logical) scouting/ranger path are soon to lose our CL61 status, due to ranger pre-req changes.
what does CL61 mean to us? stim-Ds.
so... yes, your suggestion is needed. very badly.Message Edited by goatt_13 on 10-11-2005 01:19 PM

I'm just happy I get to re-learn how to make the best possible pet... AGAIN!
/grrrrr
FYI, our sample cap is CL75 - but we keep trying those critters over 75 anyway.

I don't believe that you can sample anything over CL65 as it is today. No changes there as far as I know. I didn't want to sit and keep poking a CL80 with a stick and getting the "failed" message 505 times. It would be nice if they just said "this creature is too high to sample" .............................. And I simply cannot understand why you would think that this means you have to totally re-learn your profession???!?? A cl40 now, is a CL40 after the expansion hits live! Whats the difference? If your currently making pets of varying levels, simply continue to do so, and now instead of throwing away the ones you put too many points into aggression with, you can sell them now too! I simply cannot see how this is in any way BAD for BE! As A MCH I find that I'm looking for all levels of pets to combine. I have added a CL2 wild pet together with 2 higher BE pets. I would focus on Exp'ing the different slots IE aggression,Mental, etc to see what ya get. And then just sell them. I personally look for high health, high to hit pets, Other Ch's Like high damage pets. You will find a market for most any pet you make as long as it's not low on every stat.

well I have an idea if we can make awsome lvl 80 pets better than the wild ones or as good as wild in the skin the cl80 ch's want then we keep the market dry by only making 71+ pets for close ch friends. If the cl 80 chs that are not our friends want lvl 80 they got to help convince the devs to change us to where we can use them.

not just them but any MCH/Mcrafter profession or MCH/Mentertainer
Thismove clearlyreinforces SOEsintent to drive ALL non-combat professions off of SWG.
It will be so much easier for the beginner developers they use to code a strictly console type combat game. Elimination of the non-combat classes will also go a long way to eliminating many of the bugs that are in game nowwhich they have never been able to fix.

You really have to admire the way SOE talks out of the side of it's mouth.

Unfortunate but true, Next thing we should start to notice are NPC shops where you can buy items (in the ame of fighting inflation most likely). This will slowly get rid of the few crafters left in the game and after that they will likely introduce NPC entertainers. The whole thing makes my blood boil, from the begining I enjoyed the way of a crafter and a PC based economy. It seems the have had major changes in SOE and the DEV'sonly care about the combat proffesions. Even the new Entertainer Items for the new expantion have to be gotten by a CL80 or so from what i have heard. How is it that they think an CL1 master dancer is going to live thru a mission based on a CL 70+? It seems someone over there has been smoken some pretty strong stuff and needs to lay off and get there heads together before they loose alot of players!

i have been thinking about this for a while now.
while i think the BEs are out there, functioning in silence as alts - the fact that were are dwindling is going to kill off the supply of stims. sooner or later, end of story.
i'm suprised there aren't NPC shops, already.
Please don't give up on creating pets or looking so pessimistically at the change. Your pets are going to be worth a lot more, as two level 40's will absolutely rock compared to wild ones. And you can create the pet that the CH wants to have - 2 level 40 rancors, or gurrcats, razor cats etc. Pets we can't find in the wild. Or a 60 tank and 20 little nipper that dashes in and lays some states on there. I am looking for several combos and am creating and testing as we speak - ready to decide what I really want as final pets. Yes my cl 80 pet might be a wild one if I can find one I want, mainly because I will choose a size that will remain the wild size. But my other pets will definitely be the BE ones.
As for CL 80 CH being the only ones to use CL 80 pets. I think that is fair. It's comparable to giving a CL 40 character the carbine designed for a master. To earn that carbine or that high level pet, the decision is made to go pure combat. That is what OddWan is, and I created my alt to be combat enough to survive but also enjoy the crafting. Oddi won't ever be able to enjoy that CL 80 pet she might make, but she was never planned to be a combat toon.
OK let me put it this way for those of us who are too poor to have 2 accounts and/or too short on RL time to grind to jedi to open that second slot.
Why should we have to choose between having fun and being a service industry. I do not like this creation of a servant underclass of crafters which is the way this game seems to be going.

I am a masterch/tk on my main character and a ch/be on my alt. I have been making pets since I respecced to make for my main, so I am not as experienced as you full blooded BE here. But as a 2 year old CH, I have to say that those pairs and triplets are what interests me the most. They have a good size, they can have inredible health stats, I can give them better damage or defense if required by training abilities, AND they will be a decent size when grown (not too big!)

So are yousaying that the MCH who are not a CL80 have no business with the master title? Well, then make Pike or sword or carbineer or rifle or pistol or what have you have the complete beginner profession mastered to earn the level 80 master title. Make it fair.
This isn't about making level 80 pets, hell we can do that now. This is about negating a persons master title - tell them so sad too bad you're not good enough for our game.
