Cliff Notes: What resources do you need and what are the values you need to be highest for better experimenting.

---

Hello, I am Sensi of Shadowfire. I am no longer a weaponsmith myself, but a resource harvester. I am currently attempting to determine the most valueable resources to each profession in order to create an efficient universal pricing scale. Experimentation to the most extreme levels is the goal, not simply getting the item built.

If you could, please tell me which resource stats are the most significant influence for the final result.

Also, If you had to choose resources that you have the hardest time acquiring, for example LinkSteel Aluminum, what would you say you try to find most frequently?

Thank you for your assistance. A compliled list of my finding from all professions will be available after research has been finalized.

Some concern has developed as a result of this study, accusing me of wanting to find resources to price gouge. This is an informative study, to educate people to harvesting the higher quality resources for the weaponsmiths and all other professions. There wiill be an informative seminar on shadowfire in the city of Brenn if you are interested. The findings will be first stated there in-game.

Check out the FAQ. There is evena section there for resource brokers.

I would suggest going to www.swgcraft.com and perusing the VIEW SKILLTREE category for Armorsmiths. Look at differnt schematics to see what is useful.

In general. Aluminum is Rarely used, Copper is moreso used, but Steel and Iron are by far the most saught after.

Fiberplast is used alot (especially Correllian and Nabooian for Padded and Composite respectively) as are good quality Polymers. Basic Inerts (Lube Oil) is rarely allowed, but if it is, it only has OQ so it can be a good substitute for us to use.

OQ + SR = Resists (both base and special)

OQ + MAL = HAM encumberance

OQ + UT = Durability (least important by far)

FOR PSG's the same applies, minus the Encumberance part as they have no encumberance.

Some Specifics:

Ubese - Axidite Iron, and Neutronium Steel

Great post! This is exactly the content I am looking for. Hoping the other boards give the same quality of replies.

Quality of the material is irrevelant to DEs. I believe experimentation is broken. (shocker, eh?)

Dear Penguin-X,

Unfortunately, the experimentation on droids does not do a great deal to alter the quality of the final product (yet). The Emperor has advised us that experimentation will change (work) soon, however, you must understand that the Emperor is a very busy man and he does not like droids much. Anyways, there are a number of specialised resources that the Droid Engineer requires as listed below. I hope this helps.

Kindest regards,

Karlie.

  • Aluminum (Duralumin) ... Level 6 Droid Medical Module (CD/OQ)

  • Aluminum (Link-Steel) .... Droid Armor Module 6 (CD/OQ)

  • Copper (Beyrllius) .......... Level 6 Droid Data Module (CD/OQ)

  • Extrusive Ore (Lidium) ... Level 6 Droid Item Storage Module (CD/OQ)

  • Inert Gas (Dioxis) ........... Level 6 Droid Data Module (CD/OQ)

  • Steel (Ditanium) ............. Protocol Droid (SR/UT)

  • Steel (Duralloy) .............. Droid Amor Module 6 (CD/OQ)

  • Steel (Duralloy) .............. Binary Load Lifter Droid (OQ/SR/UT)

  • Steel (Duranium) ........... Binary Load Lifter Droid (OQ/SR/UT)

  • Steel (Neutronium) ........ Level 6 Droid Item Storage Module (CD/OQ)

There is no experimentation on spices. Quality of resources does not matter at all.

You can experiment on the tools used in slicing (precision laser knives, flow analyzer nodes, and molecular clamps), but the concensus among experienced smugglers in this forum is that it doesn't make any difference. The quality used in experimention of the tools is conductivity.

can anyone veryify that this does nothing?

    Dear Penguin-X,

I recall seeing a post where an engineer tested good and bad resources in droids and droid components. The results proved that resource qualities made no difference at all. Having said that I still use the finest resources I can for my crafting station modules and customers have been very happy with the results. Some have even claimed that they get better results from their droid than their 43+ stations.

    Kindest regards,

    Karlie.
