1. There were no AR1 "super10's", it's an urban myth.

2. As an MCH, I care a great deal about damage and if they everget the aggro coderight (like they tried to last publish)you will too.

3. Even the very best of the "super10's" were no match for a MCH pet.

4. CH will always suck at PvP because they are either a Defensive/Offensive hybrid (if they took say Pisol as their Offensive class) or they are a straight support class that can turtle things to death by healing and waiting. The _real_ combat classesjust totally ignore the CH pet and go straight to the CH, thereby totally null-voiding that Defensive bonus...

I fail to see why so many CH's felt so threatened by the "super10's". Perhaps they were worriedit mightshink their Dwarf Nuna (baby) sales to Non-CH?

I dont think many CH cared what kind of damage those pets did. The 500+ dam that a CL50 pet does is not a big factor in the outcome of a battle. A low CL pet with AR1 8-9k HAM and 46% resists across the board is a formidable tank even if it does no damage. A non CH should never be allowed to have a pet like that.
Also a CH should never engage in PvP unless he has other combat skills or he likes to clone a lot and dosnt mind when his pet takes a vit hit from multiple DBs.

Actually, ...

Vehicles are good for traversing large distances in a shorter amount of time.

Mounts are slower, but they make better transportation when you're out hunting and need to go from creature kill to creature kill, because the mount follows you around. There's no running back to the car when you want to move on to the spawn just over the hill.

Ok point by point:

1. Assuming you are right, you have to admit this pet is rediculous http://www.imagedump.com/index.cgi?pick=setandget&tp=26188&poll_id=0&category_id=20&warned=y

Whether i agree or not that that is rediculous is beside the point, you made the claim that "super10's" had AR1, which the did not. I was only addressing that.

2. You I am afraid are in the minority here.

Not as big a minority as you may think...

3. No, but more than a match for pets above its own CL.

Pets above it's own level? I can only assume you mean "wild" pets above it's own level? Welcome to the new world. Like it or not, you should start getting to know a few BE's on your server. The core role of a CH is to _drive_ pets, not supply pets, thats the BE's core role...

And there are STILL CH "wild" pets that can rival, or even surpass, a BE pet:

I do not feel threatend by BEs, in fact I have written several posts stating I felt that it was time for the BEs to get some love. I am a MCH, not a pet shop owner. I don't sell pets, I take orders and fill those orders. I sell a taming service. BEs are the pet shop owners. What upsets us is the fact that our best pets got slapped down, and non CHs were running around with pets that a novice CH could never, in his wildest dreams, find anything close to that in the wild.

I have to disagree with mounts being worthless. As a Master CH/Master BE, I get a mission of a creature I want to sample, ride my mount out (Level 19 Falumpaset) with my main pet (Level 50 Gurrek) to the mission, then use both to attack when I get attacked. This helps when I'm sampling social creatures so I can send one pet after one coming after me and the other after another coming after me. Then after this mission I can just hop on my trusty steed and head to the next mission or back to town.

Now, if I wanted to get somewhere in a hurry, I do ride my bike. But have you seen your bike fight?

I'm not a BE and this is a little off topic but I much prefer mounts to vehicles for missioning, hunting and surveying. They move a bit slower which is nice for surveying and I use hotkeys for dismounting, surveying, and mounting again as I move on. As noted they follow you if you want to travel on foot. And as a Squad Leader I get my abilities as well as passive Melee and Ranged defense bonuses when grouped with a mount. A relatively tough mount can also serve as protection against lower level threats but I generally do the heavyfighting myself and keep the mount for transportation.

No, the bike doesn't fight for me, so I just outrun the creature. Only thing that can come close to keeping up are the big cats on the Corellian planets and Endor.

You are honestly making a comparison between a BE pet, and a Bull Rancor? Do you have any idea what it takes to tame one? *THEORETICALLY*, you need to be a Master CH, with a +25 taming cloth to even have a CHANCE at taming it. This is, of course, THEORETICAL, since I don't believe anyone has ever actually successfully tamed one, since it is a super rare spawn.

Nice comparison.

Funny thing is, EVEN THEN, if I did get a Bull Rancor Baby tamed, with a little effort, you may not be able to get plague strike on a pet, but I'm betting you could make a pet that could stand a chance 1v1.

They left all the pre-nerf pro-bots out there. Has that created problems over the long run?

No.

But there are lots of people who are going to be livid about spending money on pets they just purchased that they can't even call now.

But as was said before, the patch was evidentally buggy and this may not be what was entirely intended.

They also left in the pre-nerf FWG5 pistols. So there is a long history of leaving in unbalancing items. Yes the CL10's would be able to be sold for big bucks unless they were made into NODROP items.

And I was so looking forward to having that little CL10 cat at my side if I did follow the holo path set for me.

If you had read my whole post, you would have gained some insight into my views of the BE/CH/SWG economy. I know several good BEs but I choose not to use their products as I prefer to tame my own pets because there are still some serviceble creatures left in the wild. But your assertion that some wild pets surpass BEs means little when the pets with AoE strong disease are impossibly rare.

And guess what? This is not a new world, though thanks for the warm welcome.
