Thread: who is gonna buy your stuff when 99.9% of CH quit the game?
and the main reason I don't like buying things...
everyone overcharges. Not everyone has been in the game for 6 months and is sitting on a stash of 5 million credits. I barely have enough credits to buy a trip to corollia from naboo some days.
I'd buy em, but my 2nd toon is closing in on Master BE so I'll just make 'em myself instead =)
I've almost completely ignored the cloning line until now. Will be awesome to play around with once the changes go in. Having tailor made critters for different situations is just too useful to not take advantage of.
"I guess they thought we were the Mister Ferley (Three's Company reference) of Star Wars. We were that quirkey neighbor who was always asking about milk or meat."
LOL Man!!! That is so funny!!
For the record lets get something out in the open.....The sky is NOT falling, there is no way you know all the changes. From what ive seen so far id be willing to bet that all creatures have been BALANCED (note: not nerfed!!!) with each other then BALANCED to players. That will end up making CH just as powerfull as before and players in general more able to acutally kill things solo (if thats indeed how it is changed). As for buying BE pets, as a former MBE you **** well better believe id buy one from a BE (namely Kova
). My favorite two pets now are two BE made Gurrecks. Heres one MCH thats dancing for joy that graul maulers are now in line with other creatures.
I guess the thing im trying to say is, instead of sitting on the forums crying "The sky is falling!" to anyone and everyone, why dont you go to TC and TEST out the changes, you might very well be pleasantly suprised with what you find.

Very few people buy our clones now, so what's the difference? As for the pets mentioned that have been nerfed, please excuse my immaturity, but Ha Ha! We couldn't make those anyway and if that's what you were using, you weren't buying them from us to begin with. We don't make webmasters, grauls, graul maulers, or GSP's.
I understand that going out, hunting and taming your own pets is fun. I was so proud of myself when I got my grater gulginaws. I've got 40 cl's so two of those seemed like exactly what I needed, until I realized that they're slow. Not just slow, but laggy too. Why is it that one always lags way behind the other? My uneducated guess is that they made the graphics too complex. Also it seemed that one of the recent patches took a nicely made fighting team and turned them into annoying cowards. If I could rip out their guts and put them inside something faster I would, and with the next publish I should be able to do something similar to that. Of course, with the next publish I won't have my 40 cl's either, oh well. ...or will I? I should count them again since I grinded up for mounts.
As far as over charging goes, how much is it worth to travel off planet to locate high quality meat and flora, and then go out and sample DNA from something that will gladly kill you repeatedly if you don't have a good means of distracting it? BE clone prices vary according to how much effort was involved in the crafting. Yes, there are those who will charge high quality prices for trash, but I set my prices based on time and effort spent. And I feel no sense of accomplishment from making trash clones. Hopefully in the next publish these subtle differences in quality won't be so subtle anymore.
I wont be quiting either proffession as long as I am playing.
And as for 99.9% of the CHs leaving...I will believe that when I see it.
Our fix that we are told we are getting, may or may not be as good as it seams.
And I do think we will still be able to make things for non-CHs.
I am a bit unhappy that we wont be able to build flyers and snakes, and coloring and size scaling probably wont be included either....
But I cannot be too upset...because hopefully...there will be ways to get those schematics for things we cannot make, and hoepfully.....Coloration and Scaling will be made possible.
Scaling the size of something should be one of the easiest things to program actually....becasue all thats needed is a single variable with a number that represents the percentage of the size of the creature.

Somehow I think 99.9% is a bit exxagerated. I would say more like 50% of CH's will give it up when all the 1100 and 3200 CH's can't call out the Grad Wrixes, Greater Sludge Panthers, and Graul Maulers any more.
The 50% that are left are going to be absolutely our best customers when they learn we can custom craft for them pet of specific CL with specificbody styles(lots of them not tamable in the wild) and stats better then any comparable CL pet in the wild. I fgure within 60 days of the new patch going live the Graul Mauler team that every Master CH thinks they should be using now will be replaaced by a pair of CL35 Bio-Engineered pets.

New powerful pets from a BE that are better than most anything you can tame in the wild, and you're not interested? To each their own I suppose. Most every CH I know and have talked to via in game or on forums is extremely interested in the BE changes, and have no plans of quitting at all once the CH changes are here as well. In fact, most welcome them...new and interesting pets in the wild and from a BE, new commands, and the thought that every other player won't have a graul mauler in their pocket are all very appealing thoughts.
Since it appears that creatures are taking a kick in the knees across the board, it might be a bit hasty to think that the new BE cloning systemwill be able to take up the slack on the uber pet market.
One of the stated goals of the ch revision was to adjust whats percieved as the "force multiplier" effect of the class, to change how a pet with an elite combat class could effectively solo some of the most difficult encounters in the game. I'm not so sure that the developers are going to greatly diminish wild creatures in the pursuit of that goal, just to have the power of the former previous wild creatures be replaced by the new BE ones.
The sky isnt going to fall.
People will still need tanks, and pets are those tanks. Combat droids are only open to DE, and the reqs for DE are crafting intensive...dont expect alot of Droid Hunters or Droid-ol-eers. This basic need for a tank is not going to go away.
The question becomes: who is in the best postion to fill that tank order? The answer is after the CH nerf, a bioengineer.
Think about it. Right now what can we do CL26 or less that can come close to a greater sludge panther with 8k ham and 60% kinetic? The answer is NOTHING. Do we have a functioning clone in the 31-49 range that can compete with a graul or a graul mauler? Nope. Can't lose any market there. If they actually fix a few templates in the 30's we will gain market there.
Think a little bit more. With armor removed from CL30 or less pets, what is going to happen? You got it Sherlock, those pets are going to take -more- damage, and require -more- bioengineered petstims. Get ready for demand to go up even higher on petstims, and you can jack up their price accordingly.
Face it- most people dont like kiting, and most people dont have much patience for forming a well balanced group with supported brawler tanks. Pets will still be in demand.
The sky will not fall.
