Thread: you BE's should start advertising your best BE pets on CH forum.

As far as the BE changes are concerned I truly hope that BE pets can start to compete with wild tamed ones. Would be great to see some variety in pets. My fear however is that there soon won't be many CH's left to buy the nice new BE pets, we'll all be playing BH's, Commando's and TKA's, like the Devs clearly want us to do.

Well I have. As to reasons..it's hard to say precisely.

But bio-engineers just don't seem to understand CH's.

I wouldn't blindly assume all don't. Many are both sides. MCH and MBE for me, seen it all..experienced it all.

Its just like bio-engineers and dna sampling, you like to go out into the wild, find those big bad animals and sample them, right?

Hardly. I don't consider risking death and decay to get a samples..if I am lucky, all that fun...at least for myself.

Well its the same with CH's, we don't want to stand on a street corner and buy pets. We want to go out into the wild, find that big bad animal and try to tame its babies. Thats at least 1/4 the fun of being a CH.

Of course, but it is those same CH's I see on those street corners selling pets and mounts as well. When coming up CH, there were some exciting moments for me in taming some pets, like one of my Maulers..however it really isn't all that exciting now for me as a MCH. Below that, yeah..I can understand..but I see so many more people buying pets from other CH's..and only a few actually out hunting their next sale.

I have NEVER met a single person who hated bio-engineers. There is no reason to, and that statement is patently false.

Many times we've had a CH coming into our forum or just generally saying that 'they don't want our clones' and that our profession should be removed from the game. I'd call that hatred for our profession, plus if I gave you the list who have a problem with me you'd see that there isa significant amount ofhatred for bio-engineers... oh wait.. sorry thats just hated to me and I happen to be a bio-engineer.. never mind then

The one-star bandit is quick on the draw tonight. Now that we finally have a chance of offering something that CH's want, besides pet stims, you think this one-star trend will continue? Native BE's usually either ignore Tal-N's more hostile comments, or occasionally trade a few jabs with him. Hitting the one-star and running is flat out childish....a bit like having your pets do all the work for you.

Ok bandit, whoever you are, do you have the cajones to duke it out with Tal-N mano a mano?

im sorry, i thought that it said somewhere that BEs would control "everything" about pets and so i assumed that that would include armor. I was just trying to be optimistic about this CH nerf. and maybe the fact that BEs got a huge boost, the BEs could be benefitted by us buying their pets (CH's would have done it all along but we didnt because we could tame pets that were nearly as good and less expensive) This is why i was hoping you would advertise your pets so us CH's knew what you could do to pets.

I dont know if its just me but all this CL 70 durnie stuff doesnt interest me, i want pets that specialize in things. ex. one pet that is the ultimate kenetic tank, one pet that is the ultimate energy tank, one pet that is the ultimate pvp killer.

Maybe i am too optimistic, i hope not.

In any sampling of a group, there will always be at least one who does not fit the general mold, and a CH who hates BE's would certainly be that 1 who doesn't fit the general mode.

I personaly, have never met a CH who hated BE's, I've personally always just been indifferent, its just other people out playing the game like me.

And lastly, the vast vast vast majority of players who buy pets aren't true CH's, they are dabblers who either can't tame their own or don't want to be bothered with the effort. As I said earlier, there are exceptions, but the vast majority are ch dabblers, not CH's.

I have always liked BE's...
I buy beast's that are broken and put them in my house.
I buy beast's that arent broken and fight with them.
I buy stims
I buy vit packs

I sell resourses at a fair price to BE's (after all I am buying them back)

I also have a voice of my own and dont like people speaking for me... I get realy pissed when I see novice CH's over here speaking for the masses (not particularly this original poster) in general.

I've said it before and I'll say it again...
I offer a Ranger guide and a MCH guard to any BE who would like the services thereof on Radiant.

Keep up the good work gang, some of us a rooting for you and good luck with your new (much needed) changes !

Hm.

Well as someone who really does love taming, I have had a rancor on order with a BE for a long time. He wasnt able to break the .65 to hit barrier though

My biggest gripe with BEs was simply the lack of high end content in their lines and the fact that BEd pets were basically forced to be RANCORS and everyone and his mom running around with a rancor or graul out already is annoying as hell

Why? Any pet I can make is better then whats wild of the same type. We have more skins in next patch so still be the same. Just more of them better. All that know my creations are now convinced if they want a critter I can make to come to me. Just that right now they not wanted because there is better wild choices other then the top end CL. Ashame it now that the CH find out this way.

"Why? Any pet I can make is better then whats wild of the same type. "

I'm not sure how things will be after the patch, with so many creatures losing their armor and such.

BUT currently...

Creatures really don't do that much damage to each other, not enough to be useful anyways, the only thing a creature is useful for is standing in front of a npc or other creature long enough for players to kill it with their guns.

Lets take two creatures with light armor and 50% kinetic resist. If those two creatures attack each other, they will be using their natural melee kinetic attack which is armor piercing 0. That means each attack gets an automatic 50% reduction in damage from the light armor, and then 50% of the damage is subtracted for kinetic resist. That effectively reduces all creature to creature damage by 75%.

This is an inherent flaw in the game. And it is that flaw that makes BE pets really not any better than tamed pets.

After the patch... there will probably be a difference since many creatures won't have armor. But against NPCs, especially high level NPCs that do have light or even medium armor, pets are once again reduced to just being a hunk of meat to stand their long enough so players can kill the npc with their guns. Unless thepet has some useful attack like dizzy, intimidate or posture down, its just a hunk of meat.

"I have NEVER met a single person who hated bio-engineers."
Really? Look around the CH forums and the CH trolling here, you'll meet many!

"But bio-engineers just don't seem to understand CH's. "
Err.... most Bio-Engineers ARE Creature Handlers.

"Well its the same with CH's, we don't want to stand on a street corner and buy pets. We want to go out into the wild, find that big bad animal and try to tame its babies."
Welcome to SWG, where many classes are interdependant. If you don't want to buy anything from a BE, fine, don't... but it's your loss really. What's the fear here? A CH can still go out into the wild and tame tame tame away, no one is forcing you to be interested in a pet custom to your desires. The huge majority of CH's I've talked to have a great interest in custom made pets, I'm afraid you aren't speaking for the majority.

Bio-Engineers are not a new thing, we've been around from the beginning just like all but one of the professions. This is similar to the whining heard on the Armorsmith forums when our tissues for Tailors finally started working. We're the BASF class of SWG - we don't make your clothes/pets/meds, we make them better!
