Thread: you BE's should start advertising your best BE pets on CH forum.
"Why? Any pet I can make is better then whats wild of the same type. "
I'm not sure how things will be after the patch, with so many creatures losing their armor and such.
BUT currently...
Creatures really don't do that much damage to each other, not enough to be useful anyways, the only thing a creature is useful for is standing in front of a npc or other creature long enough for players to kill it with their guns.
Lets take two creatures with light armor and 50% kinetic resist. If those two creatures attack each other, they will be using their natural melee kinetic attack which is armor piercing 0. That means each attack gets an automatic 50% reduction in damage from the light armor, and then 50% of the damage is subtracted for kinetic resist. That effectively reduces all creature to creature damage by 75%.
This is an inherent flaw in the game. And it is that flaw that makes BE pets really not any better than tamed pets.
After the patch... there will probably be a difference since many creatures won't have armor. But against NPCs, especially high level NPCs that do have light or even medium armor, pets are once again reduced to just being a hunk of meat to stand their long enough so players can kill the npc with their guns. Unless thepet has some useful attack like dizzy, intimidate or posture down, its just a hunk of meat.

Got a better idea...Why don't you come over to our forum and find out for yourself how good our creatures are.
Does a car dealer come to your house and tell you all the specs of his newest car? No, you go there to the dealer, buy a book or look it up on the internet before you go.
I can't, won't and glad I don't, speak for everyone else but I make enough money on Petstims and Tissues. The days of the CH scoffing at our pets has caught up with them. I'll make them for friends but all others can forget about it. I've been laughed at and asked if I can make a Graul one to many times.

You really believe this gr3ggork? I find that amusing. What do you think television, print and radio advertisements are doing to you ALL DAY long, every minute of your life that you are not playing SWG?
In RL, the businessperson who waits for his customers to find him, goes out of business very rapidly. In SWG you just don't have the same costs, and when you can't make ends meet you just move on to something else to raise the cash you need. But, the person who markets his 'wares in SWG will be greatly rewarded if they provide a good product at a good value.
The person above made a very good, logical suggestion to which you immediately turned it into BE vs. CH battle. Rather that see it as an opportunity to increase your trade, you have distorted it into something completely and totally ludicrous.
It's funny to see how some people's skewed view of reality can pervade their sense of what can help them succeed.

I don't think I'll make pets for sale even with the new changes, it is just much easier and faster to sell pet stims.
I personally despise 'advertisement' in the profession forums. What you have to say in an advertisement does not concern 95% of the people in these forums because they are on different servers. Advertisements belong in the Server forums.
My two creds.
"However, there many who are flat-out BE haters and absolutely refuse to buy a cloned pet, no matter how good they may be compared to wild. "
I have NEVER met a single person who hated bio-engineers. There is no reason to, and that statement is patently false.
But bio-engineers just don't seem to understand CH's. ![]()
Its just like bio-engineers and dna sampling, you like to go out into the wild, find those big bad animals and sample them, right?
Well its the same with CH's, we don't want to stand on a street corner and buy pets.
We want to go out into the wild, find that big bad animal and try to tame its babies. Thats at least 1/4 the fun of being a CH.

Actually I think the Devs are to blame here. All they seem to do is nerf professions. This has been going on for months now. What's happened as a result is every profession feels under attack and defensive - either crucial issues have been ignored by the devs for months on end (e.g. BE's, DE's, chefs etc) or seemingly random and massive nerfs are repeatedly applied to people (CH's).
The result is defensive, confrontational and antagonistic attitudes from people.
The gameis changingfrom being a skills-based system to a purely class-based system and when that kind of change is forced on people it naturally leads to these kind of problems. It's going to get a whole lot worse too I'm afraid :/
