warning, lack of sleep induced post follows:

id like to toss this out

i have a friend i talked into playing SWG

he decided scout looked cool, he liked exploring

the one thing he didnt like about scout/ranger ideas? that he HAD to kill animals
he wanted to maybe hunt animals, but not massacre them in droves to be able to explore faster

so maybe, maybe with limited output, anyone with trap/scout skills could use these, the catch being, it takes a bait(meat of some sort or veggies for herbivore types, etc) and only rangers get to 'survey' for good spots.. i dunno

my other reasoning for this beyond the above, and only supports the idea that maybe we could use these traps, is simply, when a resource shifts so that the best herbivore meat is on a planet that has only tough to kill or rare spawning types to harvest for it, it would be nice to be able to get some via tracking/trapping..not saying you should be able to find a 100% spot there, this would have to be relative to native animals i would think, but if i have to kill gorax to get endorian blah meat, i wanna trap him thanks not duke it out

I hate this creature harvestor idea. HATE it.

All SOE needs to do is either increase the effect of +creature harvesting or go back to the old 100% single harvest system.

They thought that everyone in groups that had scout skills would be harvesting. What we have found, and hopefully they listen, is that people dont like to harvest. They like a dedicated harvestor. We just need to get them to understand this and return the rules to where they were pre-patch.

Having just gotten the ability to develop harvesters and created my first, I have experienced a problem with the Power. -I have paid for the maintenance, however I click on Deposit Power but there is none to deposit. This is a stupid question I know, but where do you get/produce the power from??!!

Cheers

Shoulda thrown a trap or three at all the creatures you merely shot at. You would have leveled or two at the same time. Did you camp with your friends?

Not a flame by any means. I was guilty of "only" shooting and "only" trapping, and never camping, til I realized I could do all three on one trip/mission. I enjoyed the trips more with more people, and the xp took care of itself.

Get those friends and go back, and this time do all three.

Good luck

Just a head's up I thought I would share.

I went on a group trip through Endor 2 nights ago, roughly 12 of us, and I made enough xp harvesting on endor to end my harvesting needs for scout. I got 30K exp in no time at all.

Now just to get past trapping and survival......

Good quality meat with high OQ and PE is good for starting up. Good chemicals and metals with high OQ are good inorganics.

Albert Einstein failed math and I failed spelling. So what's your point?

- I support a rollback and keeping & balancing the old combat system.

Hmm wrong forum?

For tailoring stats are unimportant for everything except "Wookie pillows" which want high OQ and SR mainly.

Might want to talk to some other crafters on your server as they ought to know what the good current resources are and maybe even where to get hold of them too.

A little of this, a bit of that, and it all has to be great=)

For the specifics, take a 3 minute peek through the FAQ's at the top of this page, they'll get you pointed in the right direction.

See, after all these months of MBE, I'm still not sure of EVERYTHING I need yet. But I'm learning.
