Thread: Experimentation
I take it by the question. You never ground WS out you just respeced? Mostly asking to get some idea of how to go about explaining it.
Basically though you just pick what you want out of the weapon. Speed, Damage, Accuracy, a balance of one or more attributes. And experiment towards it> fiddle around a little. All the subs have stats adn they all add up. So say you want low SAC and yoru amking ar rifle. Experiment a stock for very low SAC. Drop the rest into speed to counter the speed penalty the stock adds.
Then you want some decent damage and good speed. Maybe experiment your powerhandlers for damage. Or for speed if thats what you want. Then final combine see how it turns out and experiment as you like to improve what ever stat it is you want to etc.
Seriously> The best way to figgure it out. is to simply make a few simple weapons. Like pistosl that only take one power handler or something like that. You'll quickly see how various weapons turn out.
Seem the most popular method is crafting the subcomponents with as low SAC as you can (usually -8) and the rest on speed. Then on the final Weapon max out the damage and put the rest into Speed or a combination of Speed and SAC.
It will depend a lot on what your crafting though, melee weapons have high SAC so you may sacrifice some damage to bring this down - some of the lower CL weapons may benifit more from speed than a lot of damage - since people are not going to be using them for long and probably haven't yet got many speed modifiers yet.

Thanks for the help guys.
Another thing, how do you know what to price things at?

There are 3 things to consider when setting your prices:
1) What are your resources worth?
2) What is your time worth? Include collecting resources time plus crafting, etc.
3) What are similar weapons selling for on your server? Check the galaxy bazaar for competitors products.

Do you use a WDG Tool too? Or do you maybe have multiple crafting stations close together?

To experiment you must ...
A) have the skills to experiment (you get these automatically as you go up the first line of artisan)
B) have a weapons, droid and general crafting tool in your pack to use
C) be standing next to a private crafting station (one in your own house) or have a droid with WDG crafting station in it
If all of the above is corect for you, then ....
A) check that the item oyu are trying to craft is experimentable, there are a very few items you cannot experiment on
B) you are standing close enough to the station, sometimes if you have more than one station in a small room they interfere with eachother, try standing right in the center of the WDG station and see if it will let you experiment
