I am a 4-4-4-4 reb pilot, i will be doing my first Kessel mission tonight, kill 30 enemies. I am certain I'll solo that just fine in my B-22 fighter.

Now I have heard alot of people say they have solo'd the corvette mission. I myself have always had issues taking down the big ones on my own. I have also noticed that alot of solo'd corvette runs were by imps using bomber run to soften the corvette and decimate it's escort. As a rebel, I have no such ability.

My question is, what hope does a single rebel in a b-22 or heavy x-wing have against this. I am looking for answers on both sides so I can decide if i will solo it, or if ill be recriuting help...... I want to make up my mind before attempting evan once as some of my components are getting low on hp from decay......

I was a bit apprehensive about attempting this solo as well. It actually turned out to be much easier than I expected. Here's what I did...

-Bring a full load of missles - I used Mark 3 Concussions.

- Use the common overloads - Reactor/Engine/Weapon 3 and Cap to Shield Shunt 4. (You can use reactor and engine 4 but level 3 worked well for me)

1. When you approach the vette just get close enough to aggro the escorts and immediatly lead them away and clear them out one by one. (Being an Imperial I admit to trying to use bomber strike on gun 5 but the transmission failed so I got to do it the fun way)

2. After the escorts are cleared out you need to take out gun #5 which is the only gun that has line of sight fron below the vette. You can do this easy enough with guns using strafing runs from behind and below the ship.

3. One gun 5 is down you have a huge blindspot to work with. As long as you stay behind and slightly below the vette it wont be able to hit you. Use this to your advantage to take out the gunboats. Come in from same heading and take out their engines one at a time. Once they are disabled you can make quick work of them.

4. Now for the rest of the vette. Remember the missles you packed and havent use yet? This will make the rest of the job very easy. Come in from underneath and plant yourself in the blindspot. Target the primary and secondary shields and drop them with missles. Once they are down you can attack the engine. Drop off the throttle and get behind the vette and disable it.

5. To complete the job just target the reactor and finally the bridge and plant a couple missles in each. Voila, no more vette.

After some practice in DS taking out vettes solo becomes extremely easy. Its much more fun to drop them without missles but requires some careful strafing runs to knock out each component individually.

Good luck

Hey, thanks for the advice. I may give it a try.......Still just a little aprehensive, and I'll have to get my advanced x-wing so I can afford the mass of missile launchers.

I tend to do it without missiles, I find the most difficult part to be the fighter escort. Once that is gone, I make gun 5 go away (from below and ahead in my case, behind might be a better idea, firing from the GB's blind spots, or killing the GBs first is doable at 550m). After that, the only real way to hit the shields is to come in from ahead and a bit low, less motion to deal with. If the GBs are still there, either take them out now, or hit the Vette engines from behind and WELL below, then get clear while the GBs get clear themselves ... and then track them down and kill them since the Vette isn't going anywhere and you want to clean up. After that, just inch up on weapon hardpoints, you can shoot without them being able to shoot back.

Thanks for the advise guys.

But i thinks ive decided this would be more fun with a fleet anyway. I really hate doing big missions alone. But now that I have my t4 reward wep, i can deal alot more damage.

anyone here on eclipse and wanna run with me?

just go in and camp it... plenty of other folks should show up... if they don't, give it a whirl anyhow... but I had about 5 people show up and group with me while I was waiting... all were coming in alone themselves

If 5 ppl, all had the same mission, would they all pass the mission by killing the one corvette? or would different corvettes spwan for each live mission?

One Vette, you all get the kill if you damage it and are in-sector. I've also heard you get the kill just by being grouped, but I'd prefer not to rely on that. I hope my Vette shows up soon...

yeah being grouped does NOT give credit... I know from my first go at it... I lagged and got pasted... the rest of the group didn't wait till I got back to finish the vette off. No credit

Be within 1km of the vette when it is destroyed and have damaged a sub component... group matters not (someone else will have to confirm or deny if killing an escort fighter or GB counts at all, but I would assume it does not).

I'm MLS/MEnhancer/4-0-4-0 Healer. Lately I've been having problems with the BH, the good ones anyway with armor of high resists and AB sliced and CM debuffs and all of that.

I run out of Force most of the time and have to run and regen, and sometimes I end up having to just run instead of fighting.

My Saber isn't the best either.
The stats are:
FPC: 21
Damage: 494 - 592
Mod DPS (Not that it matters): 449.12
SAC: 95

I know this doesn't rate on the highest meters. But it seems to me that I run out of Force a lot due to all my damage being reduced by Force and I have no innate armor. I don't spam specials and wait to use my KD for right times, but it seems that the good BH are healing faster and mind costs are a lot lower then the mind costs I have.

If you have this template, can you help me out on what you use normally when dealing with these strong type BH?

One of the first things you want to do after the CM/Bh nails you, is apply force sap first thing. Make sure it sticks. After that apply stasis and get yourself healed and fooded right. He will have already used a great deal of his mind applying the debuffs, and now your task is to outlast him. Don't try to over power him if hes good at his temp, cause enough damage to force him to heal constantly, force sap is your friend. Keep him stasis'd. Take breaks and breath.

Remember, if you want to finish him fast, you need to know your MLS abilities. Here is what I try to do, and what seems to work for me if I want to end the fight quickly.

(force sapped and stasis'd and ready to fight)

Usualy a couple saber hits, maybe a leg sweep. Get his health down to about 75% or so. Most good BH will not heal til their health gets below this point. Once there, Armour break (have to make it stick) root, he SHOULD be at about 60-65% health, with the current speed probs Jedi have, you have to spam the following hits. Saber throw, head hit, saber throw, head hit. Back and forth, if you have done it right, you 'should' incap him, but even if you don't he will be VERY low on health. You are now on the offense, and hes 2 heals behind you. Healing is his first priority now, if he skips a heal, you will be right back on him, hes mostly likely gonna try to root you, kd you, spam startle shot, something to get him some time, stay on top of him, and keep hitting him. His mind will be dropping, and of course, you will be reapplying force sap BEFORE its timer runs out. Remember, you can apply it over and over again, and it will just restart the timer. A CM with no mind, is no more. When fighting CM/BH it's about getting offensive control, and forcing them to heal, otherwise, there mind won't move, and they will run you out of force. I hope some of this might help. The best thing to do, is find a CM/BH (group with them so you don't get vis) and duel them, over and over again. Find out things that work, see for yourself at what point on his health bar you should go into your KD power hitting, and when you shouldn't.

Your problem is the saber, period.

fc21 and max dmg 592 is very far from what can make you a BH's killer. Seeing sac95 I can say it's not your fault, just this damm pearl's drop problem we all have.

With this saber I think the best thing to do is stasi&run. This is not beeing coward. If it ends you are alive, you won!

Opith

btw: with fc11 and max dmg 684 I kill them easy and I suck at pvp

Thanks for the advice. and yeah my saber is 12 point experimented maxed out on efficiency and then rest in damage. So it's just the pearls/crystals. Just one of those pre patch 9 Jedi who didn't have the money at the time to get the good pearls thinking that I would have planety of time to get them eventually.
