Good titanium aluminum has been very very rare to spawn on my server and necessary for popular weaps like the dx2 pistol, dx6 carbine, disrupter rifle and one of the new carbines ...

I recently returned to SWG (days ago actually) and I respec'd immediately back to Master Creature Handler, my favorite profession. In addition, I took master pistoleer and then was unsure what to add to that.

I intend to tame and hunt creatures, and get involved with the GCW if I have enough skills. Is Scout a good choice for a way to make a little extra cash aside from missions? Or should I drop some of the trees and add Novice Medic or some more combat skill boxes?

I guess what I really want to know is does master scout add skills that will be fun and help with CH or earning cash to support my expenses--like armor and weapons and repairs?

Any advice much appreciated.

Medic is a waste. You can use stims without medic, the level depends on your CL.

Money maker - maybe. But as you use up more SP, your abilities in the GCW drop. Scout = CL, though it is more PvE oriented than PvP.

Master a weapons class as quick as you can. That will help in hunting.

Use traps so you don't hose yourself and get caught in the great trapping catch-22.

Right now the game is semi oriented against dabblers, so you need to choose wisely.

Good luck

hi,

im trika as stated in my sig. im very good at getting hide, meat, bone, whatever.

but i think instead of getting contracts from artisans and the such i could make more money if i started my own buisness.

but if yall could give me some info i would be appreciated

1.should i get artisan and open up my own vendor or should i just sell of the bazzar?

2.how much would i sell hide and meat and bone for see i dont know what the guys that give me the contract do with it i assume they just make armor or clothes but they may just be selling it back to the community.

3. how much does a vendor cost?

4.is it hard to run a buisness on swg

Retail sales of resources is possible, but does require some effort and skill point expenditure.

1. A vendor is probably a better way to go. The bazaar has a price cap (25k, I think, I haven't played around with it too much since they bumped it), the sale is only posted for 7 days before it expires, and you can only sell 25 items at a time. That 25 limit includes any offers you make to other player's vendors, and any "available items" sitting for pickup at the bazaar (these can be bazaar purchases you made in another city, or an expired sale you put on the bazaar last week).

2. Prices vary a lot depending on what type of resource it is (which determines what crafters need it), what the stats are, what server you're on, and who's buying at any particular time. You can try comparing what you've got with other similar resources for sale on your galaxy (the "vendor search" is handy for pricing your competitors). Low quality stuff (all stats under 500) is usually just used for grinding, and grind prices seem to be 3-4 cpu on most galaxies for creature resources.

3. To get a vendor requires getting Novice Artisan and Business 3 (a total of 24 skill points). This allows you to place a single vendor (and only of the most basic "bulky terminal" type) and sell up to 100 items at a time. There is no price cap on personal vendors.

Vendors also have maintenance costs, IIRC it's 15 credits per hour (more if you take up merchant skills to teach them to vocalize or register on the planetary map). I'm pretty sure that flagging your vendor for "global search" (so it shows up on the "vendor search" tab of the bazaar) does not have a maintenance increase. And you have to have a building to put the vendor in, so unless you're partnering up with an existing "mall", you have to place a house and pay the maintenance on that as well.

4. Depends. Just getting a vendor, slapping a bunch of maintenance into it, and throwing items up for sale isn't that hard. If stuff doesn't sell, you have to restock it after 30 days. Building a customer base, finding what the big sellers are, determining the most profitable pricing, etc, can take a lot of work.

I'm a ranger myself, and I think your best bet would be contract work, and maybe also have a vendor for when you aren't working under contract.

Check your server trade forums, oftentimes armoursmiths and other crafters will post that they are offering xx cpu for a specific current resource. Go out, get a bunch of it for them, and then ask if they'd like to do any sort of permanent contract, such as having them contact you specifically as their supplier. You can make quite a bit from armoursmiths who need specific, high quality hides, and many are willing to make a deal with you if they know they can have a consistant, reliable supplier.

Talk to some tailors and architects also, they often need hides in bulk, but quality doesn't matter so the payout will be less. However, this is a good way to fill up your time when there aren't any HQ hides in spawn on your server.

And when you can't find anyone to work for, make sure you check swgcraft.com to see what resources are in spawn. If there is something there that is valuable to a certain profession, you might be able to harvest a lot of it and then auction it on your server trade forum, or sell it on a vendor.

go to www.swgcraft.com then on the left-hand side there is a menu. Under the "resources" heading, click on "current resources" Then select your server at the top, and either "all planets" or the specific planet you wish to see the current resources on.

I've always found the "find resources" page to be better organized and easier to read. Click that link andselect your galaxy (if you get a swgcraft forum account and log in, it'll remember this for you). Click the "Only available" box (I really wish this would default to checked). Select the resource type you want to look for (can be as generic as "creature resources" or as specific as "Dantooine Wild Meat") and click "find resources".

The results will come back with everything swgcraft has for your galaxy matching the selections you made. You can also sort the results by stats using the up/down arrows next to each stat. If you want to get really fancy, you can put in percentage values on the search page to get an overall rating of each resource based on multiple stats and sort by that.
