I didn't see this in the FAQ, sorry. I was wondering if it were possible to make my music macro change instruments to reflect the song he's changed to? Like Western owns with the Bandfill but I like Virtuoso on the Nalargon, andlikewise, StarWars1 is the most fun on the Mandoviol.

Is there a way to do this? Hope I'm not making a dumb request.

Yes....however....

If you change instruments you stop playing music and therefore must wait the 15 seconds before restarting.

To select a new instrument, load instruments onto a toolbar and use the "/ui action toolbarSlotxx" command where the xx is the slot number of the item (F1 is 00, F12 is 11, Shift F1 is 12, shift F12 is 23).

NOTE This wil not work with Ommni Box or Nalargon. It may "use" them into the world, however there is no way to then target them automatically. If you "use" the nal into the world and target it and then don't more and its not "stolen" from under you you should always have it targeted, but you'll need to "unequip" whatever instrument you were using before instead of equipping the nal.

Here's what I'd do....

  • Use the Nalargon and target it.

  • Load Mando on F1, Bandfill on F2

Then the macro could look like this...

  • /ui action toolbarSlot00

  • /startmusic starwars1

  • flos and pauses

  • /stopmusic

  • /ui action toolbarSlot01

  • /pause 15

  • /startmusic western

  • flos and pauses

  • /stopmusic

  • /ui action toolbarSlot01

  • /pause 15

  • /startmusic Virtuoso

  • flo and pauses

  • /stopmusic

Note I hit the same slot for bandfill twice. Once to equip and once to unequip. Also....stops are not instantaneous so the pause 15 may need to be longer.

Hmmm.....

Upon item creation, you can rename "a Nalargon" to just "Nalargon" and then in your macro you could throw in:

/target nalargon

before you started playing it.

No idea if the "calling" and "storing" of the Nalargon will change the name. But it could be an option.

Would make transitioning between songs and using the Ommni/Nalargon a lot easier with song macros.

The version that you pull out, for use, always seems to be called just 'a Nalargon'.

It used to be you opened your datapad and counted the number, they changed that. I made a post in the Artisan forum that contains a macro to help you find it. Go there and it should be within the first couple pages.

Go into options, deselect the sort data pad alphabeticaly opton and then relog, count from left to right then move onto the next time, count to the item then -1 from the number you get cuz it starts at 0 for the first item then try that. Be aware that standing neer a crafting station moves the items in your data pad a few slots so you may have to readjust the macro.
