In order to get your vendor on the map you need to have Advertising 3 in the merchant profession.

once you have that you can simply select "register on planetary map" from the vendors options

Heyas All!

ok, one big question that just arised:

What do you need to become a Pistoleer?

I dont mean XP points, I mean do you need to be a Marksman 0400 or not?

In the marksman tree if you finish the pistol training it says evolves into Pistoleer. Im almost there now, just another 10k pistol XP but I just noticed that some guys posting here are not Marksman.

Is it because you can drop marksman afterwards? or simply because you dont need to be a Marksman at all

And if you can drop Marksman do you still keep the Marksman's bonus and skills? or do you loose them? (does pistoleer have skills to replace those lost?)

Kindly let me know.

There are, it has been said, two types of people in the world. There are those who, when presented with a glass that is exactly half full, say: this glass is half full. And then there are those who say: this glass is half empty. The world belongs, however, to those who can look at the glass and say: What's up with this glass? Excuse me? Excuse me? This is my glass? I don't think so. My glass was full! And it was a bigger glass!

0040 is fine for pistoleer

Master Marksman is handy because it increases speed and other statson rifles/pistol/rifles but you can still master pisols on it's own. If you surrender MM you'll lose the bonuses. The bonuses for pistols are good because you'll be close to the speed cap on all specials once you hit Master Pistoleeer. Without it you'll need to get skill tapes to increase your pistol speed so you can fire specials once a second.

If you still have master marksman I'd keep it as long as you can, especially if you go smuggler and want to spam last ditch, which has a huge delay, stopping shot isn't too fast either.

To clear up any confusion ,you MUST keep the Pistol line in the Marksman tree to progress to Novice Pistoleer

The pistol tree in marksman is a pre-requisite for pistoleer and you have to keep it...notice if you look at pistoleer in your skills tree there is a link at the bottem pointing back to marksman...so you'll have to be 0400 marksman to be Pistoleer. Master marksman does give you a little more speed, which is nice...but some people prefer to put those points elsewhere...you could pick up some defenses from other professions or get some medic for better self healing...Im actually a master pistoleer/master doctor on one of my toons...you can go HERE and go to the download page and get Kodan's Profession Calculator and work on different templates and see what all the bonuses you could get and work on your template before actually going forward with it...

If you want to know how to actually grind the tree out there is a sticky post above called the pistoleer grinding guide and that tells you best how to level the profession. Good luck and if you have any more questions, fell free to ask!

Yeah, ok, so I'm a newbie. But even Boba Fett had to start somewhere right? Anyway, I need to know what composite armor (as far as stun, kinetic, electric, etc...) I should be wearing when I go after jedi. I'm almost done with invest 3 so I figured it was time to start looking. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

No armor has LS (light saber) resists, so unless the Jedi is getting help from regular profs dont bother wearing armor. Instead buy some BE enhanced clothing. For example, stun resist and melee defense can be useful.

There is a bug where a PSG (personal shield generator) has LS resists when pulled from a crate. However, it will lose the resist after server reset..so the next day youll have to pull a fresh one.

No armor can resist Light Saber. However, I saw a "Chintin" or something smiliar spelling body armor has resistance on everthing around 15% selling on my server.

Steak is the food can reduce the Saber damage, actually any damage.
Intimidate is the skill that you can use to reduce the Saber damage. You need to have novice Brawler to get this.
I think Blind from your carbine can also reduce the damage as well.

All add up together should give you some decent reduction.

Hello People,

My question is if I hit once all the flame thrower specials (single1 & 2, cone 1 & 2) and I begin to see the DOTs are being applied, should I keep hitting the target with all four specials over and over or is more efficient to do single2 over and over till the target is dead? Can I get more info on how DOTs work on flamethrowers (stacking)?

Thanks in advance for an answer to this newbie question.
