This macro is smple and highly effective. Beside being good for AFK i also liked using it while runninh around and chatting in noobs towns. I could walk around and talk to people all thwe while killing everything in sight. Just dont be greedy because yesterday i saw a hunter using this AFK macro outside of Mos espa and his huge weapon in combination with a pretty big pet was killing everything within a huge radius. I saw this because their was a couplel noobs yelling at him to let them kill them stuff. So if you are gonna use this and you are a big boy...just camp in the appropriate spot..k?

I wouldn't normally reply to a message like this but it seems to be a rampant problem and there seems to be support for this silliness.

If you don't want to play the game cancel your subscription. Macroing and grinding are what lead to these so called "Masters" that don't know the first thing about their profession or the way the game works. I can't fathom anyone paying to do something they don't enjoy. Starting a new toon may not be the most glorious time but its what the rest of your game time is built upon. I can remember being in groups (yeah that long ago) and /warningshot adds and folks would just start shooting at them, killing themselves and others. These were folks well into elite combat professions that should know better but they were just grinding to get a master title and not the knowledge that goes along with the title.

well how about those who want to use them do.....and those you dont br quiet. If i wanted to cancel my sunscription i would, and further more their was no mention of anybody not enjoying the game. I think SWG is lots of fun and macro's (for the moment) are a legitimate way of getting things done. I dont think that people should have to endure a hard time at the hands of opinionated people.....the bottom line is, i pay.......so i will play however i like and if you have a problem with that, then #$%& off.

Wow... you really are the Angry Zabrak. Hydra was talking about people who use the macro AFK. Even if you get the macro, and plan on using it only when you aren't AFK, you might use it when you have to run to the doctor or dentist or walk your dog or whatever. What hyrda was saying is that why pay for the game if you don't like it? If you just want to grind to "master" or jedi and do nothing else, then don't play the game.

Thanks Q. I appreciate the back up. Macro and arguement posts are usually avoided by me, and now you can see why. Its like competing in the special olympics, even if you win....

Although I did get a kick out of:

Where the whole post is nothing but high strung opinion, but this last bit really drives the point home.

But yes my point was AFK Macros are lame, using macros in game is not. I sit in my little camp, crafting traps and whatnot, while running a macro to heal my pet. I have macros that do /aim;/mindshot2;/pause 3;/peace for pulling mobs out of social groups, /aim;/concealshot for just wanting to plunk away at a critter the long way. I use macros, lots, but I don't AFK macro. It leads to the "I just made master XXXX what specials should I be using?" and "I just made master XXXX what can I solo?" posts. How about starting over and actually learning what each special, weapon, etc actually does.

Combat macros can be a mixed blessing though. One guildie did it to get loot all nite from thugs(didn't need the xp) and got squat. Another had somebody see his AFK tag up and just camped his spawns to reduce his XP intake/looting rights. Yet another did it to farm faction and came away with a crapload of FP at the end of the night. Basically if you do this be very choosy where you do it. And be buffed just in case.

What looting rights? Your friend wasn't playing the game. AFK play actually steals from others game play because you are taking game resources and opportunities away from the people who play during time periods you don't play. If everyone were to be on 7/24 there wouldn't be enoughfree spawnsfor people to accomplish anything.

If the game is so boring you need the computer to play it for you why spend the money?

I wasn't trying to say my guildie was in the right. He was just camping a thug spawn in Eisley at night while heslept looking for saber crystals. My broader point wa sthat combat macros are a mixed bag.

I agree its a mixed bag and I understand what your friend was doing. However how good is that for the people who actually play those hours? I can hardly go to the common spawn spots any more because there is almost always someone there AFK farming for loot.

Oh I agree its pretty crappy from your perspective. If I coul, I'd drop a covert faction scanner make the afk looter overt and farm some easy FP.
