Is there a list anywhere that contains all the fish with pictures that you can catch and where? Would like to mount as many as possible on my wall.

There are a set number of fish, and they aren't planet specific. The ones I know off the top of my head: Faa, Laa, Blackfish, Ray, Striped Fish. I think there may be a couple more....but they can be found on ANY planet. Weird, huh? Thousands species of Fauna on every planet but less than 10 types of fish in the entire galaxy.

My last question on this matter is when I convert the actual fish into food, does a master ranger convert better than a novice scout?
Thanks
I wish it did.. At master ranger, I haven't noticed any difference. I've never noticed a difference in filet amount related to the size of the fish. It just seems to be random, and small. I could be wrong though. In which case, ignore me.

Hey all,
I decided to make another thread to ask another question, this time about fishing.
I haven't fished for a very long time, and today was my first day trhing it again. It was a blast, I caught 3 fish, out of about 6 attempts. I'm using an 8 quality pole (dunno if that's good or bad). My question is with fishing, is there ever a wish for fish from other professions? In other words, if I fish a lot...like getting a few thousand fish, will it mean anything later?
Also, i noticed my bait had only 3 charges, yet i fished 6 times. When will I need to replace the bait?
My last question on this matter is when I convert the actual fish into food, does a master ranger convert better than a novice scout?
Thanks

Okay these are probably more "scout" questions than Ranger questions, but we're here to help so allow me to help.
Fishing poles can go up to around 97 quality, so if you plan on fishing a lot get a better pole. I find it helps.
Bio-Engeneers need fish, but since you can fish at Novice Scout, they pretty much handle that themselves. However, if you find some good stuff, harvest it and I'm sure they'll buy it. So yes, if you get 1k of fish meat, you'll get some creds.
make sure you "filet" your fish. You'll get a random amount of meat and bait.
Your bait is used one charge at a time, but unless you lose your bait, you can re-use the same piece of bait. Thus, in theory you could fish forever with one piece of bait. However, sooner or later, you're going to lose your bait. Then, when all your bait is gone, just drop a new stack of bait into your fishing pole and you're set to go.
Hope this helps

a tip: when you fish it tells you fish and vegetation density, stay away from vegetation dense areas, or you'll snag your line and those bites will get away and your bait will turn to mush
i use a 96 pole and last night i was catching about 9/10 times, ithink i might have resources to make a better one, maybe i'll try....
also amount of meat depends on size of fish (same with xp) i don't know about harvesting level, because i'm already maxed - i can tell you that at higher foraging you seem to get larger quantities of bait

Ah but I have snagged some really interesting stuf. Yes, in these areas there is a .01% chance you can find some form of SEA. I found a +2 to rifle accuracy armor attachmenton test once

just a bit of info guys although sea shell harvesting tools are great and u can get a fair bit of meat from it.... they DO NOT! provide fish meat..... you get mollusk and crustacean meat and they r just another type of regular meat not fish specific meat what bio engineers so dearly need and want!

Get a scout buddy (or if you're a scout) to /forage for some bait. Keep trying till you get bait. Drag that bait to your fishing pole. Then head to the waters and /fish.
