If I ran the game, all critical failures would be taken out. I hate the freaking things.

/agree

I got a critical on a set of RIS leggings. If I would not have been a twelve point they would have been in the trash. I was able to bring them back to kin 80% 78% base. It was just unlucky I guess.

If I am not mistaken in the Hotfix this morning they did remove all the Crit Failures

Only on assembly, not on experimentation.

But don't let the idiot whiners in there fool you - all the assembly tapes and the force branch assembly are still good for helping increase your chances at getting amazing assemblies as a master.

The question left unanswered is what are the rates for the different types of assembly outcomes now that crit fails are out of the equation so to speak. were crit fails just replaced one for one with bad assmeblies? was the whole curve stretched out so its now also easier to get amazings? [or any number of other methods to fill in the gap left by removing crits]

guess only time (and a bunch of people playing under the new rules) will tell

Go back a re-read the post from Tiggs. She has re-edited to say that Crit Fails still exist, but they will not eat your loot or components. Basically all of the crafting professions will enjoy the same assembly behavior that Architects and Shipwrights have enjoyed up till now.

I thought they removed critical failures from the game?!? I got two critical failures and one moderate failure yesterday when trying to make a schematic for Synthsteak.

They removed it from assembly NOT from experimentation.

Ooh ok...so the initial assembly won't critical fail to where you lose your resources. Gotcha!
