Are you sure you are not crafting an artisan food? Try crafting an ithorian mist or wistril bread and see how many points you get. This is a mistake I made that cost me a few million credits and its easily overlooked.

Yes, if you've only got Domestic Arts 4, you will only have the 7 experimentation points, when making Dom Arts 1-4 and Nov Chef items (this is, if you're human). Like he said, make an Ithorian Mist, and see if you have the 10 full points you should, because that is a Chef food.

just a quick question..


If i make something and its says i have two experimentaion columns 1 at 0% and 1 at 45%, is the 0% one saying that i cannot experoment? I try useing exp on this coloum and it says great success but dosent change - still says 0% , whereas the other one will go up i.e. 45% then 63% etc.



Is it not worth putting exp points in the 0% column.

If something reaches 0% it can't be increased, AFAIK atleast.

Ok I've made a few prototypes now so I need a question answered:


HAM depends on Quality, not Effectiveness during experimentation on the final deed, correct?


I also have a feeling that mechanism quality plays into the effectiveness experimentation field on the deeds. Is this true?

Can we please talk experimentation? How does it affect us, as tailors, specifically? What are your #s? I dont even know what my #s mean, other than when I put my tailor outfit on finally last night, it said in my skill box I was +160/+186. Is this good, and if so, how?

11 & 12 exp points so far do not make much of a difference for me, so unless you have a ton of extra high quality wooly hide to burn through to try to get amazing successes on both experiments it really wont matter...


with

978oq fiber
954oq leather
909oq wooly


even with an amazing success on quality the max I have gotten yet is 3%/342 and 3/4/3 thats at about 65% on both with 11 points exp.


10% change(55%)is only 3%/311 and 4/5/4


Seems that 1 more exp point is not going to break another 10% to up the numbers (and you need 20% to up the 3% to 4%) anyone have better results and/or suggestions?


I should add that the starting % are 24 and 21 respectively,if i'm lucky and find some higher wooly and leather it may break the 3% without having to get really really lucky on amazing successes

That should allow you more experimentation points to when making items, therefore hopefully making them better quality. These attachments are finally getting some use, as the Wookie Armor requires Tailors to make some of the segments.

Heh, yeah best i was able to do was a great sucess, no amazings, with 65% effectivness equalling up to 3% in the segment. Took me some time to figure out how it was all working out with the running of expirimentation and what now but i got it down pretty good i feel. Also, something needs to be done about the +'s and SEA's.... what a load of crap i had last night... i craft myself the tailors apron and blindly dump in 3 SEA's into it, a +1, +2, and +4 clothing expirimentation... i was expecting to see a +12 on my damned apron but NO they got eaten up... what a way to blow 310K *sigh* and CSR's won't do anything about it, with no compensation it made my night pretty upsetting to say the least.

I ran about 3 hours of experimentation last night with a variety of different resources, and here's what I was able to get out:


With 'Great' successes, and what I would consider 'good' quality resources, I got what I'm selling as the 'Encumberance' version:



  • 3% Base effectiveness, 330 Integrity, 3/4/3 HAM.

With 'Amazing' successes (took me forever to get it right! ugh!), and my 'top' quality stuff (things that cost 100 cpu..ouch!), I managed to get:



  • 4% Base effectiveness, 230 Integrity, 5/6/5/ HAM

That was with all wooly that was 945 OQ, 955 SR, 850 UT, and a FP that was 1000 OQ, 600 SR, and 65 UT (thus the HAM took a little hit on that)


GarVa, am I correct in assuming that the 'theoretical limit', using all 1000 OQ/SR stuff would be 5% base effectiveness?


NOW the problem is pricing...when you use 100 cpu wooly Hide, and 10 cpu FP, the cost alone for each segment is 2550 credits! A crate of 25 alone is costing me 64K credits!

I figure that by selling these at 110K, I'm barely covering all my factory costs, loss due to all the experimentation, and the +exp clothing tape costs.


What is everyone else charging for crates of these? Someone initially said 45K...I think we might need to rethink that pricing scheme

I have now been told bya guild armorsmith that I should start at 200cpu if they are made of really good materials and go down from there, but *never* below 100cpu. Below that you are selling for less than you can sell the materials for. At this price, it should be 150K per crate. I'm not sure anyone will buy at this price, though. Once I can get some really good wooly hide I will make 100 of them and see if anyone will take them.

Oh, and to those trying to get their base effectivness up, remember that it's NOT all OQ...it's 50% OQ, 50% SR.


I tried a few other types of resources, and with an OQ+SR greater than 1500 (they average 750 each), I can consistently get 4% base effectiveness by using about 8-9 exp. points in the effectiveness experimentation...and that's with only 'great' successes. I stuck the other 2-3 exp pts. in the HAM, and that generally brought it down 1-2 points for each stat.


Also, remember that UT is important on some of the HAM and integrity stats...the better you can get, the lower you can get those HAM costs. However, the Wookiee armour is so low in total HAM costs, you really don't need to worry about that!

Yep, that's the problem with this market...same as the HD leathers/clasps! The combat/ranger types are the only ones who can get the resources we need. They then charge us an armload just to buy the raw resources, but they don't then want to pay a VERY small markup on the finished product!


As a good note on this...it might be just my server, but the drop rate of Leather/clasps/CCTs seems to have shot up yesterday...I had one guildmate run through the Jinda caves for 2 hours...and he got over 30 leather pieces and 15 clasps! Suddenly the 200K per item cost has fallen to 25K per! YAY!!!
