I don't know why droid engineers have not caught onto this. The best template for crafting stations is probably master DE, master artisan, and novice architect.

You need a master in all three professions in order to get the full 10 points of experimentatation. There's no other way to create a station of high-high quality. At novice architect, you'd have a mere 2 points of experiment with. That's not going to help you. Nor would using anything less than the full experimentation of master artisan or droid engineer.

If crafting stations use artisan experimentation, what use does architect experimentation have for crafting stations?

If you take a look at what is needed to make a high-end crafting station, you'd understand why experimentation is needed in all three professions. For master artisan, you need to use outstanding resources and fully experiment on the Control Units, Electronics GP Modules, Energy Distributors, and Micro Sensor Suits. For master droid engineer, you need to fully experiment on the Droid Storage Compartments (again using outstanding resources). For these sub-components, you want the final results to be in the 90% range. Then, using these components, the master architect adds them to their crafting of the station. As with all other parts, the resources must be stellar, and fully experimented on. For the station itself, you need the full 10 points to hit 100%. This, and only this, will get you a station with a high rating. Failure to use a master in any one category will cripple your chances of making a high-quality station and will be nothing short of a waste of resources.

No. Final assembly of the crafting station uses Artisan experimentation points rather than Archtiect even though the stations are in the Architect skills.
Architect experimentation points are not used at any point during construction of crafting stations. So you can be a novice Architect and still make the best stations possible as long as you are a master Artisan.

Hello can anyone please tell me if this is a bug or changes have taken place.
I have crafted a starship station (not a tool) and the end result was a 98% item but for some strange reason it reads the same stats as a tool would 14.89 as functionality and not 43.46 etc has anyone else come across this problem thanks.
Also i play on the Lowca server.

For crafting stations, you will need to use high quality resources on all components and sub-components (control units, GP modules, Droid Storage Compartments, etc) and experiment on each one of them as high as possible.
For more information, please read the Architect FAQ.

The max for a crafting station IS 15.00 without any subcomponents. That's with 1000 CD copper.
My first guess, with no extra input, is that you didn't include droid storage, MSS or control unit components.

I once tried to make a crafting station with 997 CD copper and average sub components.
The result was a lower rating than I'd have gotten without using the subcomponents at all.

Yes bad sub component parts will reduce the final station rating. The impact ranges from negative to postive. So for example the droid storage compartments will give you -5 to +5 to the final rating.
