I have always felt that BE shouldnt be able to create super-pets. It not only unbalances the game it also devalues the CH profession. I 100% agree that non-ch pets shouldnt be 6k-8k hams with 59% kinetic res **or** the pre-nerfed CL1 pets that can be used by novice ch that have all the stats of a full grown adult.

**BUT** anything under 3k ham is garbage.

Since CL10 pets takes some time investment there is no way most BE will bother with em if we cant get atleast 20k-30k for em... but under 3k ham they are hardly worth more then 5k at the most!!!

So what happens? BE loose a market....

I could argue, "so freaking what??!!"

Making chef tissues and tailor tissues is **much** easier and yields a much higher income...

**BUT** fact of the matter is most people play BE to make pets. Plain and simple. And since SOE completely f*cked over CH with their partial combat re-balance, that has been delayed now several months, there are VERY few CH.

And why should there be?? I mean I was a MCH/MBE and I couldnt do squat without drowning my pets in pet stims **and** having the patience of Gandhi . I picked up TKM over MCH and now I can solo 10 mutant rancors in UNDER 3 mins.

Only reason to play MCH is either you're a newbie and dont know better **OR** you like to roleplay. The problems that both these presents is:

  1. newbies have no money to make it worth a MBE time

  2. Roleplayers **usually** prefer to catch their pets themselves...

Adding this all up what we have is a honest to goodness dilemma with no easy answer... and you can rest assured that anything that is done at this point is going to pi$$ a lot of people off. It seems to be a lose lose situation.

They said the current droids are the ones that are 'acceptable', and were made with CL10 stats in mind. So, I'd aim for CL10 droi stats if you want to be 100% safe- Hams around 2.2K with 75 max damage, down to 1K hams with 150-200 max damage. Any strong specials- ie poison, disease, should be right out, obviously. those are for high level creatures, if you want them, then spend points on CH. That's the best guideline I can give. keep in mind droids got a cap of 40% across the board- so less resists = more ham, or a special attack or two.

I DO think the creature lowering interface needs to change. alot. as it is, it drops pets to insanely weak stats, like CL 5 or 6. The owner should be able to choose what to keep, and what to lose. After all, it's not the BE's fault the pet is too strong, nor is it the customers. the fault lies solely with the devs, because of their stubborn refusal to simply state what is too strong.

No I don't have a freakin sig. Just make something up and pretend it's here man. woman. umm...Whatever.

I feel SWG is loosing a golden opportunity here. I can see why the bio-engineered CL10 are currently overpowered, why not make the system a cost/benifit system. Allow BioEngineers to make CL10 pets that are really CL30 pets but make the owners pay through the nose through them for inupkeep. What I am suggesting hereis comparing the difference between the SWG percieved CL and theactual CL statand making the cost of pet upkeep go up exponetially? The cost could be the amount of food you feed the pet, for example. So, yes your DirDir could be CL30, but the cost would be e20 more expensive in food.

That makes a varied and dynamic market. The 1 issue is how do you include the CH in this market.

If nerfing CL10 pets is about bring balance back to the game so that players do not have too powerful of pets, will there be adjustments made for the players who have no combat skills? If you have no combat skills it follows that you should be able to have a pet that does greater damage of has greaterham. Will Neutrals get something "additional" to bring them in line with the factions who have faction pets?

Are droids the answer? Are they the new pet? Will BE merely be about making food and clothing enhancements?

Let's not stop there. Let's truly make it equal like in drag racing. If you have facitonal pets, or dr buffs, or food additives, or better armor, better weapon, or anything that gives you an advantage over another player or creature then you will be penalized by a delay timer allowing your opponent the opportunity to hit you "X" amount of times before you are able to respond. But wait doesn't lag do that too? Ok factor in lag to the equation too. Oh but wait! What about the people who don't have a lot of credits? Will they be given more to bring them in line with players who do or should players who have more be penalized? Put all these factors in and what do we get? Turn based play. Where do you find turned based play? On single player games and I have not seen any single player on-line games that people want to play with the exception of gambling games.

Now my logic my be warped but it seems like being a BE is akin to playing a gambling game. And just like in a casino, the house always wins but lets one or two strike it big occasionaly to sucker others in.

It s stupid to nerf cl10, i m making very good cl10 60% kinetic ... and people don't need it.

Why use a pet for tank when u can have 3k all ham and wear armor 80% kinetic ... a artisant buffed with an armor is far stronger thana very goodcl10.

Probot are 40% resist and with the new patch DEwill do a lot of dmg.

BE's pet are still better than a probot for tank ... nerf BE cl 10 will make them good for nothing.

What s mean cl 10 are too strong? too strong for what ? too strong for kill a Vynock cl 10 ?

A player who mastered an elite combat prof is near cl 25 unbuffed, without armor ... but who play without buff and armor now ? Noob ? Do you think that a noob will buy a BE cl10 when he hardly understand the game ?

Stop the nerf .. it cost me alot of time to understand how make good cl10 ... sell some good cl10 to few players who don t like use armors is not an exploit.

When SOE nerfed the cl for a no CH from cl15 to cl10,wearingarmors was joke and pet was the tank ... a pet Cl10 is no more a tank as good as it can be.

Hi, i make some very good cl10 60% kinetic and i would like to say this :

It s really hard to sell good cl10, it takes a lot of time to make 1 so it s a pet expensif .. Every body can t buy this kind of stuff, and for people how have a lot of money, they don t have any se of a cl10. Why use a pet cl10 for tank when u can use armor 80% kinetic and buff.

A Artisant buffed, without any combat skill and with a good armor is already far stronger than a cl10 as good as it can be.

The probot is already stronger than any wild creature cl10 .. and with the new patch DE. It will be a damage dealer and be far stronger than any BE cl10. ATM BE cl10 are still better for tank, but If u nerf BE cl10 there will be no use of BE cl10.

At the present time few people use cl10 .. Dev can t callan exploit something that nobody use.

Let s the cl10 work or u will nomore see people with a cl10.

IfCl 10 is a problem for CH because CH pet suck too much .. don t nerf BE and make CH be able to handle highter cl.

Any one with a good armor and buff is able to kill alone a creature cl75 .. so the creatures aretoo weak with the present player power.. it s not the false of the BE.

And atleast nerf cl10 will impact only the "true BE" who tryed to make creature with a lot of time spend and a lot of experimentation.. why kick the only guys who tryed to play the BE as it should be.

I think that the ability to resample BE created pets is the main factor behind these 'overpowered' pets. So a possible solution might be to consider preventing BE pets frombeing resampled.

Personally, I think that BE pets shouldinmany cases be better than wild creatures. But there should also be some rare wild babies that can have stats better than BEcreated ones. For example, there are wild creaturesthat havekinetic resists over 60%.

I think thatlower CL pets should have stats in the lower end of the spectrum. For example, kinetic resistfor BE pets cango up to 60%, sopets withhigh kinetic resist should behigh level. Otherwise, what would be the point in having a high level pet? Specials should also reflect the creature level.A possible solution might be to have a system similar to creature skins where certain specials would haveminimum levels. For example, mild poison would be at least CL10, medium poison at least CL25 and strong poison at least CL40.

As it is right now, there's no point in having a pet that is above level 40 becuase a pet with almost the same stats can be created with a lower level. I'm not just talking about CL10s...it's quite possible to make a first generation pet with 60% kinetic and other good resistances with light armor, ranged attack and strong poison or disease with 12k ham that ismid 30s level. Why would a master CH currently choose a lvl 50+ pet when they can have 2 of the CH30s pets I've just described?

Look you want to avoid a huge furry of people going back to their Bio-Eng's for a refund on illegal pets?

It was SOE's problem in the first place for allowing such pets to exist, so though luck, just REMOVE the possibility of ever crafting these kinds of pets ever again and LET US keep our pets!!!

I mean geez... we all remember the CH nerf awhile back? My Level 14 Pet being nerfed, I exchanged it to the CH Trainer and got a crappy Squall that I "destroyed" on the spot !!!!!!!!! Now they are gonna get rid of my Level 10 9000/5000/2000 HAM pet... ugh.

For starters, those pets are not cheap. I paid 150k for that, and you can bet your credits I'm going back to my Bio-engineer for a full refund. If these pets were gonna be nerfed in the first place, why are they still in circulation and still easily obtainable? Get rid of them NOW!!! Stop delaying. If it's not now, then keep'em there. We paid our hard earned money for'em, we're taking care of'em, now you're taking it away from us again.

(o.O) --- Huh!? What happened?
(x.X) --- I'm dead
(^_^) --- LOL !!!

The mess that is the CH - BE relationship, "broken pets" and the fact is that now as a BE all I can really do is make tissues is exactly why I am eagerly awaiting EQ2. Have a nice day and thanks for playing.

While there is quite a bit of other gaming to be had within SWG, I feel betrayed and well quite frankly shat upon after having committed the time and energy to making Master BE. Who is to say that if I dump BE and move to another major focal point for a profession they won't mess that up too.

Thoughts on how to fix BE:

NOTES TO THE DEV TEAM

1. Allow BE pets to be "Better than Wild" by a sliding scale. Something like 1-10 +10%, 10-20 +15%, 20-30 +20%, etc.

2. Allow Stat Migration for Pets - now that's a thinker!

3. Raise the non-CH CL level to 20 and use Better than Wild scale noted above

4. Allow BE's to create mounts

5. Please I beg you release the CH patch...maybe in one of your freaking silly little twisted dev meetings you can figure out that CH was perhaps more important than....I don't know....let's say...er...IMAGE DESIGNER. **edit**?

6. Implement an system of values associated to various skins - as it is now they are jsut skins with no real value. Rather - force BEs to have some creature knowledge.

7. Increase the number of creatures in a CH datapad (double) and for non-CH how about just increase limit to 4.

8. Do anything.

9. Pull your head from your rectal cavity.

10. Or just give up and merge CH and BE.
