So I've decided to give SWG another shot and reactivated my account, before I left I gave up all my BH skills and tried out Smuggler currently I am at 2214 for Smuggler with Ranger skills aswell.

Can I get some advice from the smuggler community on the best way in reaching master smuggler and what other profession I should chose to fill my template? Ranger seems pretty well useless these days and I'm interesting in what the community has to say. I think I will just grind psitol xp until I finish the dirty fighting branch before I touch the underworld tree, then look at finishing my slicing. Also what would be the best way to get the components necessary and which items would be best when I do decide to grind my slicing branch?

Thanks for all the help

pick up a little bit o pistoleer. or master it outright if you like using pistols.

the accuracy and speed bonuses will make it easier for you to fill out DF and UW lines and make your specials hit more often and faster.

Thanks,

But is Master Pistoleer/Master Smuggler one of the better templates? what about rifleman or TKM or something along those lines?

Besides that any one got any suggestions on where/what to hunt and the quickest way to grind the slicing branch?

Once again thanks for all the info!

If you are planning on mastering it, then wouldn't you want to take advantage of the pistol skills? Most people are going Smuggler/Pistoleer. It's a pretty safe combo. If you don't go all combat, you might want to pick up merchant or weaponsmith. Both are good to have with master smuggler. I'm not sure if you can with the new bounty hunter requirements but master smuggler, master marks, get the scout skills for bounty, get bounty pistols and get as much pistoleer as possible also would be a good combo.

Don't waste your time on ID or entertainer. It takes forever with the new timers and is the most frustrating thing in the world. If I was you I would do Pistoleer and keep master until you fill out the smuggler boxes requiring pistol xp. That leaves you with spice crafting and slicing and you are done there. Dancer is pretty easy and so is Musician, but make sure you keep the battle fatigue line in which ever one you do first and get as much of that xp as you can for the other. I would probably stop there because that would put you at 28 (very respectable) and the remaining ones are not so easy.

Stop grinding and build your final template you want to build up your main (it will be your main FS) as a Jedi.

Suggestion: M.Fencer, TKA, Medic, Scout

Hello Amon,

I truly do not know what to tell you... I mastered #31 yesterday Droid Engineer

and still no message.

Believe me - I know what it looks like - Evotion my wife IRL opened last week and

I was there to witness it.

I started weaponsmith yesterday and am all ready 0030 getting 735 xp per large

warhead. I will complete the grind either tonight or tomorrow. This is #32

Yesterday when I mastered Droid and did not get the unlock message. I filed a ticket

asking CSR if maybe I had all ready unlocked and just didn't get the message.
Politician is not a required profession. Since the only remaining profession is

weaponsmith (#32) there is no mystery. Worst case scenario I just keep grinding this

last profession. Right? Wrong

According to CSR BeverlyY:

1) Many players have unlocked (between 9 & 10) that did not receive a message and will

not know they unlocked until Publish 10 goes live.

2) Politician is not required to open a Jedi Character

3) Opening your slot may not be entirely tied to mastering professions.

I looked at Evotion's stats: 29 professions 60 badges

Hondacare's Stats: 31 professions 73 badges

I hope that BeverlyY is wrong about #3. I can not imagine mastering #32 Weaponsmith

and not getting an unlock notice. If this happens - no comment

/vent off

Bottom Line It is up to you. But if you are going to hardcore grind you need to start merchant

right now and get friends guildmates etc to macro on your vendor overnight and while they are at work. Evotion mastered merchant in less than 2 weeks and this is what unlocked her slot.

I wish you all the luck.

Hi everyone,

I just mastered my 24th profession (weaponsmith). I have not yet unlocked and I am in a dilemma as to what I should do now. The professions I have not yet mastered are: Pistoleer, Smuggler, Carbineer, Entertainer, Image Designer, Dancer, Musician, Merchant and Politician. I have kept Swordsman because I enjoy it and it will remain part of my template. Should I continue to master or shoud I simply cut my losses, realize I will be screwed by the devs (although I have no way to tell this) and buil my fencer/swords/tk meditation template to prepare for the quests. If you think I should keep mastering, please let me know what you think I should go ahead and master in the given time I have. Note I went from 15 masteries to 24 masteries in less than four weeks wit one week of vacation. Thanks so much, all of you guys rock.

At the absolute minimum you should master Entertainer. I would say shelve merchant/ID and try the rest. Start with Entertainer and then finish the others from that tree. Then move on to the combat, particularly pistol/carbine. These aren't that bad, check the profession forums for tips on zipping through them.
