There are two experimentation branches in the FS crafting tree, afaik one increases the chance of getting amazing results and the other reduces the chance of getting failures.

Mea culpa for dumb question (had to get that out)
I see people with Light saber experimentation suits, etc
People with weapon and armorsmithing bonuses, etc, etc
Where are the general item CA and AA for artisan?
So artisan can get +25 bonus like other profs?
Or do we not have them / they dont' work, etc?

Err...
You mean Artisan Experimentation tapes? These are not very rare. I have had a +25 Arisan Exp suit for over a year. There are also Artisan Assembly tapes.
Is this what you mean? It is through the Artisan Experimentation tapes that some characters can become 14-point Artisans (must be human, and have +25 in Artisan Experimentation attachments).
Hope this helps

Sorry if it has been stated, but I checked the guide, and searched and couldn't find anything. Anyway, what do most smiths experiment first and how much on in ABPH's, Advanced Scopes, and barrels. I attempted making my first weapon with my new smith last night. 12pt suit with top quality resources, bestpin port and all, and I'm still coming out with sub-par weapons compared to others on the server. Figured it might be in the way I was experimenting.

Generally on Subs.... get the SAC as low as it will go and put the rest into speed. (The only time I deviate from this is if I am using enhancements and its going to be a close thing to hit the damage cap in which case I max out SAC and put the rest into damage.)
On the final item max out the damage and then the rest into Either SAC or Speed or bothdepending on the weapon.

Post examples of the sort of stats you are getting on your Subs and Final weapons if you like, sure there will be plenty of people willing to give some feedback

Can't get on right now, but if the way you said doesn't work I will post em' up. Is there a list of average stats for subs anywhere? I thought I remebered there being one Pre-CU, because I used to use it to judge any weapon comps I looted. But haven't seen one recently.

Alright, got on, did some crafting, checked stats with others on the server, and things are coming out just as good if not better now. Thanks for the insight.
And yeah I am a Post-CU Smith. wish I had some of the pre-patch subs ![]()

Hello, I havent been making weapons long, about 3 weeks or so now and have seen some funny results on some of the experimentation I have done on parts. I have +23 experimentation skill tapes on my clothing and used Bespin Port on both the experimentation results I am asking about now.
If anyone could tell me why the SAC on the amazing would be worse than on the great I may learn something more than I do atm and be happier
I guess the damage is from the amazing but just would have thought the SAC would at worst be the same as the great but maybe better as an amazing.
First one was +6 points into Damage and +6 points into SAC on a Adv Projestile Feed Mechansim. I got a great result on it and did it all in one go.
Min Damage :21
Max Damage :46
Attack Speed :-0.59
Attack cost :-5
