All player made armour is AP1, the only differences between them are the resists, vulnerabilities and HAM costs.

Hello , I recently became a MDE and had a friend make some comp armor segmeents and do the lvl 6 armor modules. I made a R3 with 2 armor modules and the resistances was 20% . but another R3 i made with lvl 4 armor modules has 40 percent resists? was this changed or is there something I am doing wrong?

Armor is bugged on Droid, well the display of it is. Max Droid armor is 20% no matter what the droid says, max is 20%. A display bug says 40% when you pull out the droid a second time.
1 level 6 armor segment gives you that 20%
2 level 4 armor segments also get you that 20%
Some people claim that with great resources level 3's will get you that as well.
So don't bother putting in 2 level 6 modules, it is a waste.

thanks Stryker, sigh kinda frustrating was looking forward to making some nice droids, my mount has more ham and better attacks tehn my droid does.... They need to fix that , this is star wars for crying out loud.... you see more droids then animals fighting people, But I am begining to think its just not worth keeping it only things that sell right now are my mse adv detonator droids and the arakyds and seekers.
They should give DE ability to use more droids to balance out our lack of combat skills, or maybe create a new profession one that is based on droids like a CH, something like maybe Droid Commander , that way DEs then could get more droids designs to make for them.
again thanks for the info

In my opinion, even using the level 6 armor segment is a waste.
Just use two level 4 armors and you wont use up your composite armor segments.
Unless you are making a droid with only one armor socket.

It's actually a matter of scaling, your combat droids probably arn't full power yet. A perfect Probot has 3200 HAM, and does 180-190 damage every .75 seconds. An R3 has 4500 HAM and does 170-180 every 1.5 seconds.
You need to consider that is 3200 and 4500 in each pool, not just one.
Then consider that ANYBODY can use a droid. Compare the stats I just listed against any pet or mount (non-bugged) that a non-creature handler can use, you will see the Droids are superior.
Have faith, you will sell droids, just be patient, improve your droids and keep at it. There are many models that sell.

one more quick question about the armor , is the lvl 6 medium class armor, if so wouldnt it be more resistant to dmg from weapons and attacks that are classed light armor penttrating?
Also iI was told to go with a R3 with 1 combat module and 5 repair moduels as a better choice for to make a descent tank? what is your take on that?

As far as I know all droid armor up to now is AR0 so in the 'none' class. Might be wrong there though. But I'm pretty sure lvl 6 armor modules don't give medium armor.

They are all the same armor class, which is none.
You have 3 choices for a combat tank, meaning a droid that doesn't kill but lives.
Probot - 5 auto repair - built in combat power - 3200 HAM
R3 - 5 Auto Repair - 1 combat - 4500 HAM
LE Repair - 2 Auto Repair - 1 combat - 6000 HAM
The Probot does the lest damage but takes the least xp.
The LE repair lives the longest against super hard stuff. It may take a few more hits.
The R3 in my opinion is the best "overall" TANK. It has good HAM, and it repair much faster then the LE.
Go with the R3

What pieces should i wear? Currently i'm using helmet, chest, gloves and boots, I have some def Vs. stun pants on. I've been told that this is enough, is it? or should just wear all of it and forgo the Def Vs.?

Remember, if your gun is sliced it's as bad as if the armor is. The STs will stop you for that.
Yes, you can wear a unsliced armor, but you need to be buffed or have very heavily migrated stats.

I believe it is possible to wear a full suit of padded as long as it is made for low encumberance and not for protection.

I don't really care about the crackdown, they scan and find something,I stay and beat their heads in and then go on my way a few credits richer.
