Well, looks like this thread has devolved a bit, so lets see if I can't volve it up a little! *smirks*

Ok, gonna answer some stuff first, then give my thoughts on what CL 10's should be.

First, since I have DIRECT experience with this, being a swordsman, I want to quel Zapp's disbelief in the 1-hit kill of a cl 65. See, most BE pets have low mind, and no more than light armor (powerhammers have medium ap). And, well, see, Swordsman's specialty is attacking the mind. And if his CL 65 didn't happen to have high blast resistance the mind on that sucker is toast. 8-10k mind (about average for a pet that was pushing health, like most BE's do) would go in 3 hits with a decent power hammer on average. See, my average mind hit with a good damage sliced and powered up powerhammer is about 4-5k, roughly. 2-3 hits if the pet wasn't made to fight swordsmen. Now, with an uber powerhammer (very nice acklay bones, 30% damage slice, 15% powerup) I could see hitting close to 10k to the mind on a lucky shot. Probably 7k average or so. I know Enraged Rancors (cl in the 80's, 89 I think) go down in about 5 hits for me, though they go down in less time with my scythe. With Center of Being and a little melee defense food a single Enraged Rancor generally wont even be able to touch me before I kill him.

"Like I said you still have to convince me that I am on a par with other Elite Combat professions. LOL i can pull missions that I have a tough time doing if at all."

"So do elite combat profs, hon."

Ummm... by elite you don't mean master marksman do you? Cause that's not elite. I don't know of any elite combat prof that can't solo any mission lair of any level with a good set of buffs. Armor is optional, and just makes you feel better.

Ever been to the Mining Outpost on Dantooine? There are solo groups out there almost 24/7 allowing people to pull high level Mokk/Janta lairs where the NPC's hit hard, have decent resists and high (6-10k range) HAM. You can't pull much tougher missions than that or the Enraged Rancor missions on Dath, and I already told you what elite combat profs do to those. People finish 2 sets of the Dantooine missions in about 2 minutes, and most of that is the trip to and from the mission. That's how they make their money. 300+ credits an hour on 30k missions means these lairs are cake for elite profs. An MCH using only pets would take about 20+ minutes to do one of those lairs, and even if they used an elite combat prof to help their pets it would actually take longer to do these missions, because you have to make sure the pets stay with you, or call them after you get there, and then send them in. Elite profs just drop in, blow the lair in about 20 seconds and drive out.

NEXT!!

It has been stated in the past by the BE dev to whoever was the BE correspondant at the time that a 4k/2k/2k HAM pet with 10% kinetic and blast resist was too powerful for non-ch.

Then of course they put in droids with 4-6k HAM across the board and 40% resist to all but lightsaber (they did remove all armor on droids, thankfully) to all but stun and made me just want to spit in the dev's faces as I flip them the bird. Anywho...

What I would like to see is our specialization shine through yet again. These would be examples of what I think should be valid pets for non-ch:

4k HAM across the board, OR a skew effect, like our ubers now, topping out at about 6.5k/3k/2k HAM, basically any combination of HAM with the total being no more than 12k total combined health, action, and mind.

For resists, I would like to see up to 60% in any two resists, with vulns to all else, or 20% spread out to all but lightsaber, basically 120% total resistances, with nothing going over 60%. Droids by the way have 240% total resistances, but as long as they stay locked across the board I think it is a good thing.

As for droids, the cl 10 pets compared to cl 18 droids IS a valid comparison, because no matter how you look at it you don't need any skill points to use either one. They are both available to everybody. So the CL itself is what is invalid there, not the pet/droid comparison.

My point is I want something comparable but different than the current battle droids. The current 10k health 60% kinetic cl 10 pets that some people are able to make right now I think is overpowered, and needs to be fixed. But I also feel that what has been said by the devs in the past about what is overpowered is rediculous in relation to what they have put forward with droids.

If they finally bring this whole controversy to a satisfactory conclusion it just might be what I need to jump back into BE, which I would love to do but won't right now because I know how frustrated I got with this whole stupid rediculous mess.
