Thread: Tissue Pricing
if you are really selling them, good for you but I have no idea what to sell them for.
I've been sellig direct to tailors at 5k per top end tissue. I don't base it off per plus atm.
Too early in the game to tell if this is too low or too high. I'm happy with the profit though.
While i was grinding xp next to the bio engi trainer i went afk to get a soda and saw "BUYING BIOENHANCED TISSUES SEND TELLS" heh dam that was a expensive soda.
So yes they are buying, im getting word from all types of players on pet stims(thank god i dont have to make them by hand any more) and tissues from tailors left and right.
I'm selling for around 100-200 per modifer pt. Most tailors are asking in crates, and it seems its around 150k per crate.
Just made a +11 taming wild/+12 taming vicious tissue.. I have no clue how much to sell that for, heh.
What we should remember here is that Tissue Enhanced Clothes are VERY VERY nice articles that should sell for alot of cash. It is basically the same as the uber drops this game lacks. That Bonus to taming is like a 100+ krayat tissue because it is actually harder to get 25 milk than a really good krayat tissue.
It is comparable to Master Weaponsmith weapons. I mean a clothing with +17 to intimidation and Warcry to a Polarmsman or a TKA is very valuable. Not to mention what it would be worth for a medic/doctor/CM to have a +17 to Woundtreatment speed robe? Thats more than 1 skillbox for them.
Say a robe sells for 5k (I actually have no clue whether that is the normal price or not). Now slap on +17 Injury and Woundtreatment and that robe can easilly sell for 15k? Or more?
Considering the "+25" cap wich you most defenitly won't be able to reach on 1 single tissue, I think that tissues between +13 to +17 is going to be the norm, If a player wants to reach his or her cap then they need 2 clothing parts anyway so it doesn't matter if they have 2 +17 or 2 +13
So a tailor might actually sell better if they sell +13-14 clothes for cheap than a few +17 very expensive.
It will be very interresting to see how this all pans out. Personally I need to get me some +25 to camouflage and go to darthomir to sample some grauls and rancors ![]()
One of the problems I"ve run into with pricing tissues is with multi-cloth items. Master level items (already expensive) can take ALOT of cloth/panels. So running a per plus system ends up getting outrageously expensive (lets say 17k for a +17... times that by 6, and thats just the synth cloth cost).
I agree though that there has to be some worth put on top end items. I think the 5k a tissue at +17 is providing some workable room for tailors. They get more cash out 1 tissue items, I get more cash out of multi tissue items. **edit** for tat. That and my regular tailors keep care of me, I've received /tips of considerable credits just because they've made a good bit of money ![]()
Few more weeks will hammer out a good solid pricing system... then we'll get item decay to turn it upside down again /chuckle
As a mid-level BE, I made a 25 crate of +3/+3 scent camo, just to see what would happen. I put them on the bazaar for 600 each to see if they would sell. Now that I think about it, I'm going to pull them and give them away to every tailor I see. Maybe that will create more demand.
I did a cost analysis and came up with somewhere between 450 and 860 per tissue, depending on material costs, number of units produced, etc. So minimum price will be around 600, regardless of how good the tissue is (average price approaches marginal cost in the long run). This also pointed out to me that my tissues suck and I better grind some more.
I talked with a tailor about this very issue last night. She said that with good tissues she could raise the prices of her garmets up from around say 2500 per unit to 15k per unit, or a 12.5k profit just from the tissue. So were you to split the profit 50:50, you are talking around 6k per tissue. The most I have been able to get on the advanced tissues is +15, and on the non advanced ones +6. The $6k figure is for the advanced figures.
Part of the problem in this pricing is that some patrons like garmets which require multiple identical tissues, and hence the profit per garmet gets divided by the number of identical tissues to determine a tissue price. But this really is a tailoring issue as there are some garmets which do not require multiple tissues.
Now if you do something with milk or eggs, I would jack that up a lot more owing to the rarity of those. Eggs aren't so bad, but the milk IS horrible.
The bear for me on these is the resource gathering...they are really meat dependent. It is all I can do to keep my pet stims stocked, and for now I am putting the resource gathering burden on my tailor friends.
There are three essential things to remember about how you price you tissues!
1. Our resources are hard to get for the good tissues. The rarity of milk for example is an obvious one. Any tissues made which use this resource should be priced higher.
2. Tailors are substantially increasing their prices. I saw a standard duster with a 13/13 taming tissue sewn in go for 75k (Bloodfin (and to be honest the guy sold 10 of these in minutes!!!)).. Now thats one tissue, so all our hard work getting 75k meat, 175k flora and the requried 170k DNA experience converts to what? It appears to be letting tailors increase the price of their stuff buy over 2000% percent while we end up with just a little more than the resource cost. Sorry, this will never do!
3. The end result is a nice clothing item with statistics. If you examine the item it says - Duster, 13 to taming/taming wild animals. Made by - 'Insert name of tailor here'. So for all the hard work getting the resources and skill level to make top end tissues ends up with a tailors name on our product. No one cares if its a duster, or a shirt, etc.... they are interested in the tissue and its that alone that demands the high price.
If we start saying 100 creds per bonus point then the BE class will never be a rich one. Tailors will be extraordinarily rich, but we will not. If its a good tissue, then anything below 1k per bonus point would be more readily expected. At least 75% of the overall cost of the item should be in YOUR pocket as its your work thats making it sell so high!
As for people not buying tissues... well, I think your wrong. Just take a look on the bloodfin boards and see the scramble as tailors and player suddenly realise that stat giving items are on sale.....
My BE is already starting up the tailor tree as the only way I can get my name on my product, it to make it all!
Daxs Raptor 3444 BE (Master as soon as I get back on)and Novice Tailor - Bloodfin
I sale my panels for 500cr/+1.
Bottom line is clothes last forever! They don't have to replace them, they don't have to fix them. When you havea piece of clothing with +17 Camoflage/maskscent, you have that for as long as you wear that piece of clothing. I see enhancement tapes selling for 50k for a +6 enhancement. If tailors are buying directly from you BE in crates, make em pay you. They will mark up there clothig appropriately and they will sale.
