Actually this is not about Mollusks.

But While I was sitting in the Lost Village on Talus Praying for Mollusks to spawn in it, LOW and BEHOLD I find some Talusian Horn.

OK, someone tell me what horn is good for?

I think horn is an "organic structural" like bone. I found some a while back and it seemed to be a similar item to bone. I haven't found anything that actually requires just that, but those are 2 other things we need to find out how to get a better source of.

Horn is totally useless right now, no schematics call for it, apparently in beta they had some use for it, but removed it. Whenever i find some i just put it into some crappy medicine stim packs i use in the field since it works like any other organic. There might also be somewhat of a market in the rares collectors in this game, but i'm not sure.

Don't know what they plan on changing - but mollusks are NOT gotten from fishing - they are rare loot, like milk.

Fishing worked as of last night unless something has gone toes up today.

I was thinking about this. You know as bio-egineers we should be able to sample fish and make it into mollusks. You know a nice CL1 creature we can use in our tissues.

I've been a Master Bio-Engineer for about 8 months.

Lately I've been getting more and more bulk orders for every type of tissue available.

Some of these tissues use Mollusk.

In addition, I have been working with many Chefs, who require nutrients that need even more mollusk.

Mollusk is incredibly hard for me to come by (at least on Wanderhome).

I understand that there is a way to find mollusk using a tool of some kind but frankly I don't have the time to collect it myself.

I can't find anyone willing to collect bulk mollusk either.

Even if I could find someone, they would likely charge something like 20cpu for them which would be extremely expensive for large bulk orders (50k or so).

It would be great if we could start some sort of petition to either make mollusk more easilly available (a tool to collect bulk mollusk) or reduce the amount of mollusk needed in our ingredients.

I am tired of having to turn away customers due to lack of an ingredient.

To top it off, I have to settle for low quality mollusk when I do find it simply because there's not enough around to be picky.

Not to mention when I use the tool to collect mollusk I usually end up getting more crustacean than anything else.

I think there does need to be a faster way to get all the seafood stuff.

Mollusk and crustacean are very slow, fish is a little slower than that.

I always harvest my own mollusk just because nobody else ever has any for sale. (Same problem with Milk too)

Getting stuff like this is extremly slow.

I agree, speed it up.

You act like 20cpu is expensive... I'm paying at least that for Dath Carnivore Meat, which can be gotten off Rancors up to 500 units at a time. I just posted a rant about fish meat in the valcyn forum, and would appreciate being able to own a fishing boat. How cool would that be.

Check out my post in the Scout Forum relating to Fishing (kind of in reply to Dev comments at FanFest)

I definately hope this thread gets some attention from a SOE representative at some point.

I don't think it would be harming anyone to speed up the collection of Milk and Seafood.

I doubt anyone would complain that we were overpowered by this change.

It would help everyone out, because it would open a new market for resource gatherers.

I don't understand how in a society of such wonderful technology there is no faster way to collect Mollusks and fish than to go around picking them out of shallow water with a primitive tool.

There should be some sort of fishing boat or platform with a net that can be used (or perhaps even automated by a droid) for fishing EITHER Fish or Mollusks out of the water.

People in real life can catch many fish this way, obviously.

There is also a large market for mollusks in today's society.

Long ago in a galaxy far, far away, people probably used similar (if not even more advanced) methods.
