Thread: MCH bug?

Hey I posted this on the CH board, but wanted to check here as well. I made a Cl 66 rancor and sold it to a MCH. He was not able to call the pet. I just made him a few hours ago and don't see why this is. Another CH told me there might be a bug right now, not letting non-wookies call pets above 63. He said his friend had the same problem but then got the taming clothing and it worked. Anyone got any info on this? THX guys

So that's all it is?? The Bio clothing? But then why would it say you can control Cl 70 pets?

I think I read that its intended that you cant call anything aggressive above cl 60 if you're a wookiee or have bioengineered clothes

I.. being a wookie.. and having a plus 10 to taming wild and viscious.. I have never failed to tame a creature my own level. I do not know what is necessary, but I suspect 10.

Having said that, I now have a hood with +25 to taming and wound healing.

I can confirm this...As a non-wookiee need the taming cloths. The Rancor is a aggro animal and at that level cannot be controlled without the clothing.

PoffMarko is right. a non-wookie mch can not call a lvl 66 aggrevive creature without the taming clothes. the highest they can use would be a cl 50 without the clothing. got some the other day and finally got to use the 67 kimo i bought awhile ago. however once you call the pet you can change to any clothing or armor and still be able to command the pet.its just needed for calling it out of the datapad.

Well, +25 certainly isn't necessary. I was able to call my CL 69 Kimo with just +14 as a non-wookie. Not sure what the minimum need is but I would guess +10 as greenstock suggests.

as far as I know the devs haven't said anything officially about this bug--yes, I'm calling it a "bug", because asan MCH, our CL cap is 70--there is NO documentation anywhere saying our vicious taming ability is capped at another CL--that's why I'm boycotting the +taming clothing--that clothing should be used to improve oursuccess rate when taming babies. I don't understand why the devs haven't commented on this yet, they seem to be communicating more these days, although half the time they're not relaying any real information...just read some of their posts, it's like they're just "making an appearance", but at least we know they're working on something--it wouldbe good to know that they're looking into this. Meanwhile, a lot of people just buy the mod-clothing and think that's the way it's supposed to work because someone told them so--then we have some Wookiees trying to finagle some Armor out of this situation...LOL...that's just funny!--but hey, whatever works for you, go for it--I just won't buy mod-clothing until I hear something official from the Devs.

CL 70 is max for contolling pets NOT taming them. if you look in the my skill mods box it specifically says that for taming vicious creatures is +50 not +70 at least for a non wookiee. thats why a master ch cant tame a bull rancor without it and why i was unable tocall a 67 kimo that a bio made once it was full grown. i am able to command the kimo without the clothing just not call it.

So you agree it's a bug?...look at what you posted, and what I posted. +50 taming for MCH, a Wookiee gets a +10 bonus to taming, which would give them a +60 taming skill mod--that's why that number doesn't equal CL ability, or a Wookiee would only be able to tame vicious up to CL60...right? Instead that number is suppose to represent how advanced you are in taming, meaning how many times you fail and succeed when attempting to tame vicious creatures--a Wookiee is naturally more advanced and would succeed more often than any other race. To further illustrate the bug, remember that if you can't control a creature at it's mature level, you're not supposed to be able to tame it at all, and with vicious you have the added difficulty of not being able to tame if you don't have a certain "chance" to tame--as in "you don't have a chance in He LLat taming that critter"...that's what that number represents, not the CL. Now, that could mean that we need +60 taming in order to have a "chance", but that's not documented anywhere--read your skill boxes at taming4--there are no exclusions to our ability other than our CL70 cap--As MCH's we should be able to tame anything CL70 and below, it may be difficult to accomplish, but we should at least have the ABILITY--the +taming clothing should HELP us accomplish those difficult cases...thus the boycott!LOL...besides, we already "tamed" these pets, but can't "control" them when they mature--although the message says we lack the skill to "tame"...sheeesh--it better be a bug!LOL

i just dont understand why your boycotting is all. your a master bio. you can make the taming cloth and just have one of your tailor friends make a shirt or pants for free so whats the deal? if its a bug then its a bug but if it aient gonna cost you nothin why waste the time gettin angry about it
