Thread: Can anyone still sample Mutant Rancors?

OK - I'm an MBE who's been around the block a few times and always used to be able to collect a sample or two per Mutant Rancor after about 5-7 attempts per. I spent the whole evening last night trying to sample Mutant Rancors and got nothing for about 30 tries.


Did we get Stealth Nerfed?

Silly question, but your inventory wasn't full was it? Instead of aggroing when inventory is full we just get no feedback now.


My mutant sampling goes in streaks anyway. I find best results if I crawl into the middle of a spawn and only sample one mutant once before moving on to next. It seems you get streaks on a single mutant and switching targets a lot reduces those frustrating streaks. If they are more then 30m apart I get lazy and stick the same ones over and over though.

something is strange lately...sampled about 6 out of 10 attempts in the first group I found then found 2 isolated MRs & failed on like the next 50 tries...IN A ROW...with much aggroing involved...no I had plenty of inventory room...one of the most frustrating experiences I've had sampling...that was on saturday this past weekend

I had severe problems getting close to the mutant rancs as I am only 4040 Scout, butas far asthe DNA Sampling wentI had no problems...in fact it was almost too easy. Although it took me 30 minutes to get the rancors to agro on other herds to thin out the 10+ per group. No combat skillsdoes have its price in that particular situation.

hmmmm.... well I spent about 2 or 3 hours last night.... got 4 samples from 1 and killed it... then the other 3 in that packs aggro'd me b/c my jawabeer wore off at the worst time... ended up losing that spawn point. Found another, tried sampling about 8 from it... got 1 whole sample from about an hour and 15 minutes on the same pack.


There is a reason I chage an insane amount for cl70 pets


haha after getting 5 samples... my creation ended up way above level... :-( 79... welcome to display world... LOL

Ah i cheat, i got a second accnt/pc with master Doc/TKM/some Scout to rez/buffme on site, i generally try to drag/rez if i die, but this character can kill whatever agro'd her if needed which is handy. I only ever need to use this for mutant ranc's tho really

I have the same problem. Im a MBE and I was trying to sample Bull Rancor for 40 minutes with no success. I kept on being detected and attacked. Sometimes I wasnt detected but still no luck. Very frustrating.

sign me up for having this problem just a few minutes ago. 2 hours and got samples after a MR let me go, I followed him back to the nest and got a couple samples. Went to Endor for MH (Merek Harvesters if you didnt know) and had no problems there. So i head home did some experimenting on gen. dna template and loaded it up in a kimogila. Critical Failure!!! Classic.

I'm gonna give it one more go. Get my chef to brew me some jawa beer.
