I'm sorry, this statement by Tal has is still sticking in me in a bad way. I tried to let it settle for a few hours, see if I was just reacting instead of thinking it through, but I'm not. This is annoying me to no end and I need to comment on it.

So lets start. Everything here was going fine for the most part. Yes, we were getting a little antsy about the fact that our cloning changes were not included in the most recent update, but that could be more to the fact that there was a misinterpretation of what Kel wrote originally reguarding our changes. That may of laid down the kindling for what was about to come, but in and of itself, it really wasnt too bad.

So, we naturally wanted know the status of our update since it wasnt included in the patch. And unfortunately Keldorin responded. And thats where all of this began. Instead of responding with an update of where things stood, the update he gave Tal was a patronization of this community. In the 3 months (3 MONTHS) since there was a stated goal to change the current cloning system, the only update we got was a complete regurgitation of what we already knew. If you feel like giving us an update, give us an update for Christ's sake (3 months....still cant get over that, 3 months), but dont turn around and patronize us.

Now that first part hurt, but it was nothing like the straight kick to the groin that they had coming for us next. In the most recent patch, mounts were introduced to the game. In the stratics dev chat, there was specifically a quote that mentioned our services were going to be needed soon. That gave us a ray of hope, and most people clung to it. So what happened, they totally ignored us when it came to mounts. They stated that they needed to have all 6 clones available to everyone, so they developed new creatures to put into the game that were all under CL10 I believe. For BE, well.....they just left us with our standard duck and bird while giving CH's 6x the number of creatures to sell to people. What was our response to this. Keldarin basically said, "Whoops, my bad." Now how can the forethought be put into one class and not into another.

So just when it couldnt get any worse it did. When cities were introduced, they made it a requirement for doctor/CM to put down med centers.....etc (I dont need to go through all of it again). Wow, heres BE's chance to shine. We've been ignored through all of this so far, but surely they are going to be make us needed to put down cloning facilities. What a natural fit, need the cloners to make a cloning facility. ERRRRRR, Wrong. Again, there was absolutely no thought or consideration given to BE when it came to player cities either (anyone see a pattern going on here).

Now, our correspondent (not meaning to get on you Tal, this is mostly frustration for the class as a whole) comes and says this board is becoming an "un-fun" place to be. WELL NO KIDDING. Come on Tal, we arent privey to the information and things you are getting on the correspondent forum. Wanna know how it looks from down here as a grunt. Basically we just got screwed, and screwed hard. No vaseline, no reach around.....nothing. And the only response we've gotten is the "my bad" response from Keldarin. For the love of God man what do you expect.

You want to lighten the tenseness around here? You want to get everyone off this ranting kick we are on. Well, we need answers to 2 seperate quesstions.

1) WHEN. I dont need an exact date. I need to know a time frame we are looking at here. Keldarin I'm sure had to give one to his boss. Tell him to add a month or 2 and give us a 3 month window or something. Cause right now my guess is somewhere Feb at the very earliest (Next patch is vehicles, then either something light or nothing in Jan due to the Holidays). But we need to know.

2) We need some sort of explanation as to what exactly happened recently. We were just sort of treated as an afterthought. NO, NADA, NOTHING, ZERO thought went in to our class with reguards to the last patch and how it relates to us. I mean, exactly what sort of breakdown happened and how is this getting corrected. As a paying customer to this game, being FORGOTTEN in this last patch is 100% unacceptable. Of course the way things are going that wont be a problem after Jan28.

Is this place becoming an "un-fun" place to be? No, not really. This place is a place starving for answers and so far we have been given none. Unless they consider the "my bad" response an answer.

Is it a case of the forum becoming an unfun place because of the players themselves? No, it'sreflection of the profession as a whole turning stagnent. If you look at these forums 4 months ago compared with now there is none of the usual discussions going on about how to make a good clone, what is going on with tissues ect.. frankly to be fair there isn't a person playing who can say they consider bio-engineer a totally fullfilling and enjoyable profession. I only know of one other profession who is in a state as bad as us and it's the Chefs.

The situation now is that we're fully aware of our limitations, we know what is broken, we can see all of these new markets opening up and we're cut off in generalfrom them for one reason or another. We're so far to the edge of the pet and mount market that we've been reduced to spectators and it's slowly turning many of us bitter. What makes it even worse is that we've been given a dream for a holy land, a vision of bio-engineering which is just like we all want. The trouble is that it's such a fantastic dream that it is a huge contrast to how things are at the moment so we're feeling even more frustrated by the wait for this.

Also there is another issue, when was the last time our designer asked for feedback on ideas for the profession or addresses certain issues? To my knowledge he has never asked the players what we'd like to see himself yet with CHs you have had Holocron addressing them directly. Also there are people like Green Marine talking diretly to BHs and architects. Ok so not all of the professions get that kind of attention but considering we're easily one of the top 3 most unfinished and generally screwed up professions it'd be nice to have something to cheer us up.

Why is it becoming an un-fun place? Because of the state of the profession thats why.

Preach on brother, Better watch out though, Tal may lock your post to keep the dev's from seeing it.

Even minor fixes, a timeline and occasionally acknowlegement of our existance would go a long way towards soothing the concerns of a vast majority of Bioengineers.

With that being said, I think that our correspondent has done a reasonably good job, and the failings I see are not from the result of his actions (or inactions) but are solely issues created by the developers themselves.

But I would also have to agree that the negativity on this board is not from unreasonable complaints, but rather its a reflection of the fact that our class continues to be ignored other then vague promises of some great cloning system that will turn the class around at an undetermined time in the future.

If the developers came on tomorrow and said that the new cloning system is very hard to program and it will be another six monthes until we see it go live, but in the meantime to hold us over they are going to fix our numerous bugs and unusuable clones I think there would be a collective rejoicing here.

Well right now for me they could come on and say anything and I wouldn't believe a word they said until it happened. I've defended them in the past now and given them the benefit of the doubt but it's reached a point where my charity and understanding has been pushed too far and thats the first time thats ever happened with me.

A CH sent me a tell yesterday.. What do you have for a CH, 2-2-0-1? I just said nothing. How could I honestly endorse anything to him. He may know that I do not battle myself with BE pets. I am at CH 3-3-0-4 and only own a BE mount, the other 9 pets were all CH tamed and vastly superior. All CH's know that. I feel dishonest when I sell pets. BE pets are embarrassing.

Give me 4 pets, Kaadu, Carrion Spat, Gurreck and Rancor. You can take the rest and give me control on the making of my pet stims.

Has anyone ever sold a Chef tissue at full price?

If the numbers on a Gnort DNA equal the numbers on a Rancor DNA, then why are they not equal?

Question from customer.. "Ok, you say that I have to buy this pet and tame it and not use it and in a few days, I have to find a Master CH to tame it again? Do the MCH's sell these? Do you have any pets that can be use now? No, only CH's do.

Customer is thinking.. "Why is it necessary to put the BE in the loop"?

If you look back, the boards were angry and bitter before we finally got the factories fixed and such.. I guess being nice does not work.

Remember the description of BE.. "The BE will make the strongest pets in the game". Super clones. Look at what science can do.

This forum is an un-fun place to be because BE is an un-fun profession to play right now. The devs have complete and total control over this situation. They decided to leave milk and eggs in recipes after removing them. They decided Chiagra should stay in the game even though it did nothing. They decided to remove the ability to tame certain creatures and not give us creatures in replacement. They have decided to let this profession wallow in the mud, they have to understand that some of that mud is going to be slinging around.

I don't fault Tal. He made a comment that in itself is completely true. This forum definitely has deteriorated from an informative helpful environment to a disgruntled rant. What I would take issue with however is placing the blame for the deterioration on the shoulders of the players. I've been told otherwise but I can't help believe we're ranting to ourselves and no one else hears or cares to hear.

How many posts have you read where people play alternate characters? "I have a BE that sits on the shelf waiting for the profession to be fixed while I play (enter fun profession here)." You don't see many people saying "my bounty hunter is boring so I play BE since its much more fun." That right there speaks volumes.

I do see a pattern. Not only with the patronizing "please be patient. good things are going to happen (but not for the BE profession)" comments but also with the flavor of this forum. Its gone from constructive to critical to down rightranting. When the rants stop you can take that as a pretty good indication no one is playing BE anymore.

If the dev's think were going to have this just blow over in a week or so they are gravely mistaken. All warning signs point to the fact that we are not calming down.Personally i think were just getting warmed up, were getting to the point where more than just me are posting on the general forums, this is gonna get alot uglier before they give us some attention.

You basically summed up everything I was thinking. And like Tal-n there is no way I could possibly trust what a dev said. This puts me in a really crappy position. I have wanted to play this class from day 1, actually before as I got in the last few weeks of Beta. Have been playing BE all along, one of the few of us stubborn idiots left. I took my time though, as a casual gamer with no real desire to grind, It took mea while to get to master, thats fine, I kinda had fun doing it. Of course all along I was told that things will be getting better, oh yes better things are in the works!

So here I am wishing that I could know what is going on, but realizing that no matter what they tell me, short of that tommorow a patch is going on test with changes, will make me feel better.

It exists, I have looted it in the past 4 days. If you would get out of your lab and play, the game may seem more fun. But seeing that just getting master and moving on is now the way of things, why not just try to have fun with what you got. I make decent cash, and want for nothing, and I have fun playing.

This forum has been a place of info for me, once you get past all the complaining. To those that have made possitive contributions here, Thanks
