I was wondering what attributes to concentrate on when making a GOOD mount. Surely the different attributes we get to experiment/create with make a difference to how good a mount is.

I treat them as regular pets since they can be used in combat. So the have a saddle on there back when fighting.

Kaadus are crap in battle though, aint even worth using, so what stats would affect the creature's resists to stun, dizzy and blind as these are what really matters, we dont wanna be falling off left right and centre.

how many critters would be good in fight CL10 or lower? After patch they all be equal. Be none that fancy stuff in low level pets. Any the pets on list on TC that are cl 10 or lower any good? What about mounts at that level to narrow it down? What of mount pets are the best? Exepct the non ch to a camp, pop a tent, put away mount, call fighter pet, do missions, and do porcess in reverse? I don't. Guess what. I learn to fight instead of pet fighting for me.

Well, thanks for the... interesting response, but it doesn't really answer my question. I just think that with mounts in the game, surely a BE can make them better in some way.

You can experiment with many of the traits, even with the current experimentation system. As I understand it though, spending your experimentation points one at a time has no affect right now.
So with that aside, you can get higher experimentation percentages in one of the five areas by using DNA samples that are high in the desired area. This is a very basic explanation. For the whole shebang, I suggest you read the guide up in the FAQ sticky, called a guide to making creatures from a fallen master, or something like that.
For mounts, I tend to maximize prowess and psychological as much as possible, as I want stamina and dependability in my mounts. Since mounts are all about getting from point A to point B faster, I want them to be able to burst run for as long as possible, so that's why I spend most of my experimentation points in prowess, so that their stamina is higher.

there is no romance to the stats of a mount. higher stamina does not affect the burst run speed of the mount. The 3 things you should concentrate on are the HAM stats. make it have high hit points and it will live through a battle. just call it off of what ever it is fighting and see if you can kill it before it kills you.

I have made a nice cl 31 carrion spat. It is almost full grown and I have not yet gotten the "train as mount" option on it's training menu.
Is there any limitations on building a beefed up mount?

Youmust have creature management 4 (I think that's the one. Its the topbox in thefar right row of boxes in the creature handler skill tree). You will not get the train mount option unless you have the train mount skill.
If you have this skill you must wait until the animal is 60% full grown or more to train it as a mount.

Sorry, I am a Master CH and the spat is well past 60% so my questions still stand.

I know back when I was training mounts before this latest patch, a kaadu was trainable as a mount far sooner than a lesser dewback or a bol. Its possible that the higher critter level mounts take longer or require them to be full grown before they can be trained mount.
Keep in mind the body type is not indicative of anything particular anymore. The template usedto make your animalcould just as easily been placed in a brackaset, bol,or dewback. If you can't train it when its full grown I'd say you have a major issue on your hands.

What CL is the spat, you said that he is a CL31. If I am not mistaken I thought the maxium CL for mountables is 15. I have been a Master CH and havent had anythign over 15, as the creature gets older the system will ask if you want to stop this pets growth because it will be to big for a mount.

Doh! I hope you're wrong about that, I was hoping to make a CL 30-ish, mount for someone today. Brackasets are mounts though aren't they? And the wild versions of that are CL 25. I dunno, I'm confused now, lol.
