Thread: Critical Fails
Has anyone else noticed a drastic increase in Critical fails or am i just having bad luck? i have been getting about 1 in 8 a critical fail on the mouse droid
So my one plea to the correspondent is to take this into consideration when communicating back to the devs. Thanks.

Ok.. while this may not help, it's at least worth your looking into, for it's consideration.
First, what is your assembly and experimentation at? While I have Clone 4, I only have two boxes in Engy, so I expect to get more crit fails on the higher end pet's, than someone with better assembly skills.
Second, how good are your tools? If your using a pre patch tool, with a pre patch personal station, the numbers might be terrible. Mine were over negative 13 on both, so I'm upgrading.
These are the only things I can suggest, that you may look at, to improve your chances. Overall however, I've heard of more complaints since the last patch on crit fails, so it's possible that they upped the percentage as well.

What everyone wants to do is examine their crafting station.
Before they were marked I don't think it MATTERED on quality - after the patch that it actually shows - I've become convinced it does. Once upon a time it didn't really MATTER if they were fully tricked out - now I believe all those optional parts actually contribute to the final product.
I was running into this myself - had a good friend of mine make me a fresh set of fully tricked out and experimented crafting stations.
Weapons worked like a charm - as did the cloth factory - hmmm, still failing a lot on the food and chem. Then, I examined them. He'd accidentally given me the WRONG chem station. I contacted him, he made another that was even better than my weapons and cloth station and bingo - I still crit some but not NEARLY as often.
I also picked up a droid with a chem station in it and boy that little guy is a trooper. I'm not seeing quality marked on him so he is either very good quality - or perhaps since he's NOT marked those are acting at a generic level like the old crafting stations seemed to before quality showed.
Ok Guys not sure if it is just me or what,
After the patch today i logged on to coplete an order. one PA hall. not a big order. SO i stand in front of my 40+ station with a 14+ tool and some how managed to crit failed a PA hall 3 times before i got it to complete. i then followed that up with crit failing a Heavy mineral miner. Now I for one have NEver crit failed that much in one sitting. Is this a Possible bug from the updates? I did manage to finaily get the heavy done.
Is anyone else experiencing this.
I'm having the same problem.
I've been working hard at becoming an architect, working my way to 0-0-4-2 on the skill tree. Credits are being recycled back into new projects, leaving my on hand cash pretty low. I've had failures in the past, but I usually have enough stuff to build another item and continue the cycle.

I attempted to make a medium corellian house. Critical Failure. It's OK, I've got some more resources. I attempt to make a medium Mineral Extractor. Critical Failure. OK, I've got a little bit left, I'll make one more mineral extractor. I try to make a wall. Two of the 10 Structure Modules are critical failures, and then the wall itself ends up as a critical failure.
I have +14.55 tools and a +20 crafting station. And now, I have no resources and very little money. Thanks for the patch, SOE!

As I said in another thread a while back, I had 6 crit fails IN A ROW. I cannot believe this is working as intended.
Today I was crafting on my 41+ station using 14.85 tools. I happened to be making more 41+ stations. 8 attempts. I crit failed 2 of them and lost the materials. One 1 I crit failed the experimentation.
In any event, not count the experimentation I crit failed and lost 25% of my run. I realize this is a small sample, but I have been noticing this for a while. Crit fails are way too high.
I think when they put in the stations with effectiveness, a dev changed the code somewhere. My worst before was losing 2 fusion reactors back to back. Before recently, I never ever had 3 crit fails in a row. Can anyone shed some light on this? It is a huge issue for architects in my humble opinion. What other crafting class can lose hundreds of thousands ofcredits worth of items to crit fails in one single day? I've done it. I am sure most of us have.
From what others are saying, the crit fails appear to be happening only on certain servers.
I play on kauri and have had no such problems.
i am master. i just bought these 41plus rating stations and find i crit fail 2 to 3 times more than on my 17 rating station.
i am scared now to even try to make a heavy or lg.pa hall. i dont have the resources to fail.
i hope they take care of this soon.
