Has anyone had any luck with ranged attacks working? I use the command and my pets just sit there. Thanks in advance.

Nope, not even a little. I have read in other threads that the BE pets ranged attack works but certainly it doesn't for tamed pets. And ain't that a kick in the butt.

I do not yet have this command for my pets, but on my droid "Ranged" is nothing more than a toggle. I pull out my droid, tell it ranged, then every time I tell it to attack it shoots rather than charging in to ram it with it's head. I assume this is what ranged for creatures would do.

Again like I said, I do not have this command for my creatures. If I'm wrong, sorry.

Have the command and a mix of BE and Natural critters. It doesn't seem to work for any of them.

In fact, none of the attacks that are supposed to work from something akin to a distance seem to work, unless the critter just feels like doing them. I've completely given up telling my critters to poison anything and consider it lucky that they occasionally will when it suits them.

On the other side of the coin, KD and dizzy seem to be working just fine on command. Not as good as being able to poison on command, but it's a start.

I jsut bought an ADV R3 combat droid with lvl 6 armor 4.4K ham and a 600 combat rating. i trainged it for the ranged command but can't seem to figure out how to get it to work. I get the text that ranged attack mode is on but he doesn't do anything. With the mode on I give hime the attack command and still he just stands there. Am I doing something wrong?

Ranged attack mod is a Toggle when its on the Droid only does ranged attacks with its little Plasma Tourch (looks like the LLC effect). Otherwise it will do both ranged and melee(using a Buzzsaw). with the attack command like with all pets if you capitolize the first letter when you trained it you must alway capitalize it(the reverse is also true) second you must have what you want it to attack targeted. Then if its battery is fully charged (in your configuration it lasts an hour pulled) then it will roll into range at start attacking. If Ranged mod is on it will usually Kite if it is off when the MOB closes it will switch to melee.

Switch your chat to Combat, and watch your droid fire away. I bought one just like yours yesterday and used it in combat, at first ithoughtthe same thing: "...Darn, this droid is a wimp, afraid to fight or what?...", then i turned on the combat chat and got the little messages that my droid caused x amount of dmg in every 2-3 sec. So started watching the robot's animation and lots of time even when switched to ranged attacks it was animate the little saw poping out instead of the lightning bolt.

you also need to train it the attack command. That threw me for a bit of a loop when I first made one. I did the ranged attack but not attack. He stood there and watched me get attacked.

Good point! if you aren't saying your commands using spatial, <not guilg or groupchat> your droid can't "hear" the command and it will just sit there.

experimenting doesnt do anything, since it comes up or doesnt come up during assembly. Mind (#3) controls if it has it, according to traditional wisdom. What you have to do is use higher quality samples in your mind slot to get it to carry through...if you're not MBE, using A or BA or LQ samples will really make it difficult to get your final combine to have ranged. Use a higher quality sample than you use for Slot 4 or 5, at least, to maximize your odds.

To my experience the chance of getting Ranged Attack to stick also increases by using samples with RA in slots 4 & 5 additionally. This way Ivery frequentlyget RA to stick even with just an AA sample in slot 3.
