My friend, megatron2882, is trying to get to a novice BE. What is the best way to get there?

The best way to get the scouting xp is by masking scent and harvesting meat. Save the meat for the BE grinding. Mask scent is available in the scout Exploration tree, which is not required to reach novice BE, but it is nearly essential for anyone who wants to create pets. The nice thing is that its XP accumulates (albeit slowly) while one is busy doing other things, just by entering an leaving the range of a creature.

I personally climbed the organic chemistry tree by making stimpacks, which I used while harvesting meat to heal myself. A pure grind might be to make a stimpack component--preferably one that requires only two ingredients. I would probably use the BEC, since it only requires any organic and any inorganic, instead of LS which specifically requires water. Here, a lot depends on whether your friend has more time to grind or more money for resources. If you check for ways of grinding medic, I'm sure they have a more detailed analysis on that.

Actually, your friend's most efficient grind might depend on the template he or she already has. Scouting XP can go very quickly with an advanced combat profession harvesting meat from advanced creatures. It will go very slowly with a CDEF pistol.

Recently I have been grinding up my alt to BE to take over from my primary BE. As an already established BE, I have everything I need, and a decent combat profession to boot.

The quickest way to grind up hunting is to use whatever combat skills you have and go killing the largest beast u can. Then harvest it.

The most clever way to grind hunting, would be to see what has the best meat, then go kill it, and harvest it. (Even if it isnt useful for BEs, you can make money off things like Avian for Docs or Wooly Hide for AS)

If your lucky, the quickest and most clever ways are both the same

For the med crafting, it's just a straight crafting grind. Gather up the resources u need, set up a crafting macro, similar to the one in the FAQ and keep double-clicking.

Best way to grind scouting XP, if you have some resources, is to geta suit of +25 maskscent clothes, drink a jawa beer, disarm any weapons you have and swoop around randomly on Endor or Yavin, stopping and remasking when necessary. You can hit a lot of aggros and quickly rack up scouting XP. I'd hold off on Dathomir till you were 4XXX, then that goes pretty quick too. I leveled up to Ranger 0040 from novice in a matter of hours doing this on Dath.

Hmmm. The problem with this is that you need to get Explo 2, before you can even start on the Hunting tree. Even with the clothing, you can't use it, till you get the ability to MaskScent at explo 2.

It may be a quick way to get exploration, but not necessarily the quickest way for this guy.

If you have an elite combat profession, the best way is just to go on a killing spree. As a TKM, I made the Hunting tree in less than 30-45 mins by killing Rancors.

Seeing as you can get 200+ units of meat per Enraged Rancor on dathomir per rancor, the xp on them is mad. I levelled from master scout to ranger 0040 in a matter of hours with a speed capped rifleman template - plus you get the meat (which you will need LOADS of) and also a good sack of cash.

Another suggestion is to go on a Squill hunting partyon Tatooine. You'll get a lot of meat and a lot of harvesting XP. The more of you there the more missions, the quicker it goes by & a decent payout.

For the Medic Chemistry tree grind BEC's and Adv. BEC's in practice mode. Check out the macro here. You can get up this tree in 1 or 2 sessions of sitting there clicking. Compared to grinding the BE crafting XP this will seem like nothing in retrospect. Hope this helps.

Why would you need to when pretty much every advanced combat profession can solo Rancors, and get over 200 resource per harvest? Off the top of my head, I can't think of anything other than rancors, that people group for that will give higher hunting xp.

(Morexp you can convert into FS combat/reflexes as well, if you are into that sort of thing)

This assumes that he is starting with an advanced combat profession. For a total newbie just trying to grind up scouting xp, it isa really good idea. It lets him harvest far above his combat level.

And there are a red-faced few of us who still have never mastered a combat profession. I'd love to add it, but my current profile doesn't have room for it. I'm too much of a weakling to solo anything much tougher than bolmas.
