I came across this combine while trying to make a low level "specials" creature to use in my combine for armored triplets.
MH, MH, AH, PL, PL
Fully experiment Phys+Aggresion and you end up with...
Lvl 16
11k Health
60% Kinetic
400 Dam.
Intimidate/Blind
You can drop the level on this pet by not experimenting in aggression.I always had a hard time filling the very low end of the ch levels, so I hope this helps.
MH = Merek Harvester
AH = Arachne Hatchling
PL = Pickett Longhorn

Oooh, I'll have to try this this afternoon. I was considering dropping CH except for Packmaster, adn was worried that I'd be stuck with only a weenie pet. I'll try to sneak in 24 levels between 2 of these =)

This formula actual does work. I made a nice level 14 Veermok with 10K H, 8K A, and 5K M. The only catch here is you will probably get no Energy defense, but vulnerability... This may not matter if you are looking for a kinetic tank. This is primarily because the MH has 75% kinetic and a Vul to energy. I'll need to try again to get the level down. But I wonder if SOE considers this an illegal pet? I was able to tame it
and he is quite nice. The other catch, is no special 1, but special 2 is intimidate, which is handy.

If the specials are not comming through, you need to check the quality of the dna you are using in the special slots.
I made this pet originaly so I could get Blind/intimidate specials onto my armored lvl 23's (triplets) with good damage. I was after PvE tanks here, which is why I was using the MH for a base. Not concerned with energy resists.
In case you were wondering, if you resample these and go MH/MH/S1/S1/S1 you will get a good armored triplet.
Have fun.

Very interesting. MH has long been the basis of my low-level pets, but this is pretty rediculous, lol. This reminds me a lot of those old non-ch recipes using picket dna that came out to like 7k HAM and CL 10.
Something about that picket dna ![]()
Oh, and say hello to mr. nerf.

You can make the same thing without using pickets - I blame those pesky merek harvesters

It is in part the MH's, because they give you a pet with only resistance in Kinetic (less resists, lower level) but it is mostly the Arachne Hatchling. Because of the way HAM is calculated, if you stick somthing tiny in the intellect slot, it effects not only the mind pool but the action pool as well. This is what really brings the level down.

well, that's true, but Arcane Hatchling is CL 18, lol, higher than the creature you are making!

Exactly why we need to know how the current system is calculating CL.
There has to be somthing wrong at a basic level. It appears that too much weight is being given to resists/damage/HAM where lowering any one of these drasticaly is throwing the CL way out of alignment.

I really dont think HAM affects CL as much as it probably should...
Although I was doing some experiments with pharple DNA, wihout experimentation it came out CL 2, 1 point in physique made the level jump to 7!!
However putting a point in each of the HAM stats only made the level increase to CL 8
I then did 1 point in physique and 3 in psychological and the level stays at cl 7
