Thread: Looking for some template advice...

Im currently master pistoleer,master ch and 4,3,4,0 medic(this is account #1)I recently bought a second copy of swg so i could have a crafter.I alrdy have this new character up to master artisan and am enjoying making vehicles...also planned on going chef and weaponcrafter. My big problem is with the fixes to bio engineer i would really like to make my ch one so i can make my own pets.The template i was thinking of would be master ch,master bio engineer and something like 0,0,4,0 pistoleer.

Currently im a master pistoleer,masterCH and 4,3,4,0 medic(account #1).I recently picked up another copy of swg so i could have a crafter and am currently a master artisan and plan on becoming a master weaponsmith chef and dabble in some merchant.Since the bio engineer fix i really really wanna be one.My options would be:Convert my ch into aBE by going for the master CH,master BE, pistoleer 0,0,4,0 template or forget about making my other character an artisan and make him be and go for the good ranger skills. My concerns: If i go the master CH,master BE, pistoleer 0040 route will my mask scent be good enough to sample the very best things? will i still be able to do high end missions solo with the lesser medic and pistoleer skills? Am i gimping myself too much so i can have a artisan(btw im not much into pvp because my connection lags me out to much to be viable competition so i just like to do high end missions solo)? If i go the other route i get good ranger skills but lose out on having an artisan and merchants(the only reason i bought the second account was to have a crafter).I would greatly appreciate advice if anyone has a simliar template or has experienced both sides of the fence or just anyones opinion would be welcomed.thx ahead of time.

Ok man



on the maskscent issue. asa BE u can create the tissues that add +25 to Maskscent. That will take you up to around +98 on MS.


THat is the level that I have and i am able to get to Mutant rancors and sample them. Some take a while though.


Master scout would help you though in BE as u can then see the CL and further stats of the creatures you are looking to sample. V handy.


Its also good to have a master CH with the same account as u will be goiing nuts to try out some of your own pets. That class is purely for your mental health.

Have your crafter toon be tailor/chef, and you can use items crafted by your bio-eng to make food and anti-bleed and maskscent clothing to give to your CH/Pistoleer. For your CH/pistoleer toon, get up to Org Chem 4 for BE and drop most of the rest of medic (I dropped all but kept first-aid up to lvl 2 to stop bleeding). I kept pistoleer 0/0/4/2, and with a good republic blaster or DX2Ican still do 1500+ a hit with Stopping/Fan shot.


If you have the points (I haven't done your math:smileywink, consider getting Novice Ranger for area track 1 at least, and some wayfaring.


Those two chars really benefit one another, but if you have your heart set on weaponsmith you can always just find a Tailor to make you maskscent clothes witht he supplies you have crafted.

tailor sounds kinda boring all they can make is clothes with no stats on them?i dunno if i could get into that

uh.


No, they can make clothes *with* stats on them if they have the tissues from a bio-engineer (your other toon)

Ok I am tossing around two template ideas... I know MLS is a must so that is in both... I was wondering if I could get some opinions on which is best... what the positives and negatives are... so on and so forth... I have read the different template posts and they give some good info but I couldn't find info on my specific idea....


First Template:

MLS

4/4/0/4 Healer

4/4/0/4 Enhancer


Second Template:

MLS

4/2/0/4 Healer

3/0/0/4 Enhancer

0/4/0/0 Powers


Now the main difference between the two would be ofcourse in one I have forcerun2 and forcearmor.... and the other I have animal attack...


Main questions would be IS force armor any good in PvE because that is my main focus allthough I want to be able to hold my own in PvP as well when it becomes nessesary.... I have heard stories about animal attack being used on BHs when they attack as well but I was thinking animal attack could be used to make Krayts fight eachother as long as I hit the krayt I would still get loot rights... but I have also heard that using force armor one can take on a Krayt as well...

I was basically deciding between a similar two templates:
MLS
4203 Enhancer
4004 Heal
0040 Powers

And

MLS
4003 Enhancer
4204 Heal
0040 Powers

I picked number two because I was not happen with the rate of drain to my force on hard mobs that were intimidated. So I stopped using FA. A lot of people dont like x2xx heal. I love it. Mainly because I don't like to stop and heal wounds or BF. That being said I'm still debating between the following 3 options:


Option 1(A) Option 1(B)
MLS MLS
4204 Heal 4204 Heal
4003 Enhance 3004 Enhance
0040 Power 0040 Power

Thoughts: I really think Meditate it going to be important after CU.

Option 2:

4002 Enhancer
