I managed to make a Creature Recycler earlier...and to my dismay, u can'trecycle eggs with it...
Heres a Screenie to prove it
http://www.imagedump.com/index.cgi?pick=get&tp=196618
Im assuming that u can put eggs in and get generic meat out...but can't combine stacks of eggs...
This means that for BE it has a use of almost 0. (Milk can be combined, though that isn't too difficult to get)

Not sure you'd want it, anyway. Recycled resources always come out with all stats of 200, although the lower qualitymight be worth it to you for a larger stack.
I still find it hilarious that "Horn" was included, though.

Dammit! This is the first time the dev's have done something to really annoy me. I've spent hours looting components for one of these in the hope of combining all my misc eggs to finnally create more than one case of Myoflex, and poof it won't even work for eggs.
What the heck were they thinking? Eggs are the the only thing I ever get in less less than 100 units that I save. If they were trying to clean up some old items in inventory they fell short of the mark this time.
Oh well, thanks Lloyd for the screenie.

Looks like you've comfirmed some of my suspicions.
By that screenie, I would assume that Fish, Crustacean, and Mollusk combines into Seafood, and that indeed Fish X, Fish Y, Fish Z can't be made into generic Fish.
Thanks

For most Tailor tissues this doesn't matter so much, as u can make it up with High Qual Meat and Flora. That means the hard to get stuff like eggs and mollusk would have been perfect for this...but it falls short of the mark.
A short message to the Devs "Too little, too late."
I really can't say that the hassle to build itwas worth it
This is particularly ironic as BE is one of the professions that could have REALLY benefitted from this.

Loyd,
thanks for posting this info. I've definitely voiced these concerns to the devs. We'll see if anything comes out of this.

Another question (I got reminded by Arthur's post on the correspondant board):
Have you tried putting eggs through while it's set on "meat"? The reason I ask is that the smelting machine apparently just has a "Metal" radial option, but the output is "Smelted Iron" if you put in Iron, "Smelted Copper" if you put in copper, etc. It's possible that eggs come out as "Processed Eggs" (or whatever the generic name is) instead of going all the way up to the "Meat" resource category.
If you have tried this and it did come out as "meat", then feel free to ignore me.

This guy tried a variety of things with the creature recycler.
According to him horn doesn't combine.
The thing that annoys me is that fish/mollusk/crustacean combine to "processed seafood." Can this be used in the "fish slot" for pet stimpack D's?
And the whole Egg thing is stupid. In that thread some guy argued that eggs can be used as "generic meat" in most schematics, therefore being "processed meat" makes sense....
Of course fish/mollusk/crustacean can be used in the "generic meat" slot too, but it got it's on combined type.
I started making one just for combining eggs. This is horrible. Especially, since servers don't reset wild lairs every day anymore

And according to a later poster in that thread, eggs are recycled to "Processed Meat" (mmmm, spammy goodness). Sounds like you guys are out of luck(but I still need one for my milk stacks...)

Dang it, was putting one together just for the eggs
Well, I'll continue to hold those short stacks and hope Art can get the devs to fix it.

Hmmm I havent tried this yet... although I did put carnivore meat in, and it came out meat... I shall try this when I get back to my house tonight...

Damanizzle!! And here I was thinking that it might actually be worthwhile (to the point that several guildies are thinking "hmm, pretty good" and searching for components, etc) for those things that come in very small stacks.
Eggs seems to be a major issue, but please, please, PLEASE, also mention the "processed seafood". Can this substance be considered "fish" as far as the schematics go? Or maybe be thought of as crustacean, or mollusk? All three of these resources come in very small amounts for the effort expended, and are required by name by different tissues (and possibly foods). I still find people that have no idea that crustacean or mollusk even exist, and I know it took me over 3 months playing to figure out why the Devs included a fishing pole. It took me almost 4 months to find someone that knew what a shellfish harvesting tool was and that could make it. At least with eggs, you can sample many different lairs and get an okay stack, and find eggs almost every lair (as far as my limited testing goes; I don't get much call for myoflex). I spent 30 minutes of real time fishing (the UI isn't that great, btw), and lost all of my bait. Out of 6 casts, I caught one fish, which yielded 22u of meat. And keep in mind, I'm a ranger, too; my creature harvesting skill is fairly good. Especially annoying is that I had a fish on my hook, and after 4 minutes of hushed waiting while my bobber went all over the place and I had no control, the big fish snapped my hook, took my bait, and vanished.
This idea of a recycler is really nice, but it seems that it's a wooden nickel. A broken wooden nickel. I mean, c'mon. If I put in fish, fish, and fish, I want to get FISH. (Call it "chicken of the sea" or something, it's still fish.) If I mix and match, then give me seafood cocktail.
Furthermore.... GRR.
Thanks for the info, Lloyd.
