I dunno about the rest of you, but it SURE seems like they nerfed us somehow last night without a mention of it (or I missed the announcement). There are 2 things I noticed.

First, you used to get an extra XP hit when your pet received a name. That stopped happening for me last night.

Second, it seems like they changed success rates on taming. I had more failures last night then I had my first day as a CH.

I currently have Tame I, Train I, Empathy II, and Management III. It sure doesn't seem like moving up the trees is making the lower level mobs easier to tame. Yes, I DO know the the Taming tree might help as I move up it. I was mainly wondering if other had the same experience.

Yep I noticed the name nerf also. Not sure why that extra 100-120 exp really mattered that much to nerf it. I haven't noticed any taming differences though. I'm still taming the same creatures I always have and its going just like normal. I actually just tamed a badagast on the first try.. those guys used to give me a crap load of problems.

If the pet-naming experience has changed, it's possible it's because there used to be an exploit with pet names. You could store a pet, recall it,reach it something (say, trick1) using its name, and get the "pet name" experience over.

I believe, although I did not test this, that you could do this repeatedly with recalled pets, each and every time you recalled them.

Ya your probably right.. I checked the taming already and it certainly has not changed. I can still tame pretty touch critters. They definitely nerfed the exp given by naming the pet but like usual its because someone was exploiting it.

They fixed the exploit where you could be in a camp and call a pet, teach it something with its name, get exp, then store... rinse and repeat.. no longer tho!

I'd actually done a couple thousand exp while i was resting doing that.. so ... no more

Did you bother reporting that as an exploit?

I discovered this by accident on my own, and instead of abusing it, I sent a private message as is instructed on the main boards and forgot about it -- it's not like it's hard to get CH experience.

What is wrong with people?

And the dev's decide whats an exploit.. its not like we're supposed to know if its meant to be like that or not...

I dont know about the name exp, but i noticed an unusally long streak of tame failures this morning. Just on the stuff right outside of town on Tat, my failure rate was up near 75% at one point . I was thinking about making a post on the very subject, but then the rate went down toward the end as a had a good string of tameings. I have tameing1 btw.

Im gonna give it a bit more time before i come to any conclusions ( Or Q/Holo comes out and says "We nerfed Your Tame Rate."

I tamed a grand wrix on the first try (only have tame I). Thats why I assumed they did nothing to taming difficulty ratio. Also I didn't realize there was a naming bug but that explains why they screwed with the XP earned for naming your pet.

I agree with you Nobix, some people are too dense to realize its a bug and others just blame it on the devs using the lame excuse, "its their code afterall". Blah.. if I had known about this issue, I'd have reported it immediately.. unfortunately I hate making camps. (:

And you were in the beta test?

They really ought to screen people more carefully for that ...
