Thread: An idea...

In light of the new found change to CH's, where they can have up to a maximum of 60 levels worth of creatures, maybe an idea to increase demand for bio-engineered pets is to decrease the level (not power, just level) of crafted pets so that they become more desirable than wild ones... Just an idea.

Someone mentioned that idea before but for some reason noone really ran with it.

It is a great idea. Perhaps put the idea in teh Dev report thread for Wayubb to see. If not in this report a future one.

As long as combat effects (hitting, taking dmg, etc) are not tied to the now reduced level that would be cool.

ok so I am playing my music today when it came to me.. wouldn't it be nice if we entertainers could be of more use in the battle field than just mind healing at a camp.. what if we could play some kind of encouraging song and when we have an ememy targetted, sap them of thier mind and disperse it amongst our group.. that would be too cool.. not a lot.. just a little mind at a time..

don't know if its been suggested before.. like I said it was just a thought..
what do you think?

hehe...

I have always thought it would be neat if dancers/musicians would have a function similiar to minstrals or bards like that. Mezmorizing, captivating, enthralling, enchanting, would all be great additions to the profession to make us more valuable in the actual gameplay. Would be super cool if some of those mobs who always bring a friend or two could be mezzed by a dancer or musician to allow the party to handle mobs one at a time

Althought this particular idea has been kicked around quite a bit. It has been stated by the devs this is NOT going to happen. They do not want to make us "Bards" Its not starwars. If you want a bard play everquest. This is not me talking this is them.

I guess i have to agree with them too. This is so far right of what starwars is that i just has no context.

How about a Jedi who kills a BH (only a BH) gets to loot through his/her inventory for creds and/or loot. Might be a good way to gain some cash from someone who is trying to hunt you.

Everyone talks about SWG not having money sinks.

Everyone hates all the people standing at the starports trying to peddle their ware.

Everyone recognizes that many of the non-player cities are ghost towns.

Here's an idea...

Implement a system in game in which the city's commerce department auctions off, on a monthly basis, the right to place a vendor inside a non-player city. Limit the number of spot available per city and maybe the lesser used cities become more popular as players enjoy the convienence of shopping within a couple hundred meters of a starport

The auction are sealed bid, so no one knows what the other guy is offering. Winning on month 1 disqualifies you from winning month 2 unless there are more slots than bids that month.

Then again, SOE could get away from the whole auction idea and just rent the slots for a fixed price. Then, some savvy investor can buy up all the slots and auction the slots themselves.

Of course, this probably won't stop people from shouting at starports but maybe it will spread that load across more non-player cities. Hey, maybe we need some storm troopers to enforce a public nuisance ordinance.

Just an idea...

I think the solution is roving bands of thieves who have a random chance of attacking you everytime you shout within 25m of a starport.

We have those already. They're thugs, and they don't attack in starports, but they DO hang around town limits. It'd just be one more way to combat grind. One blue con hassling me as I roll into town. One more mofo that needs gettin' dealt with.

No no no ..these would be new uber thugs with a damage mitigation of 7000

A 1000 cr fine for every shout or yell would work better.
