Bio Engineer Archive
Thread: The Former BioEngineer Forum.
no more FAQ's are needed.
this isn't a trade board... but that doesn't matter anymore.
the BioEngineer profession has been removed from SWG NGE.
I was put at the helm for the beginning of the end (the CURB), and it looks like I'll be here until they turn the lights out. I've enjoyed my time here because of you, the community. I haven't enjoyed the changes that have left the profession a bug-ridden cross to bear, and I certainly don't enjoy watching the last days of what has been a good 2+ years.
I'll be testing the NGE... my accounts are paid until January, and I'm still stubborn and foolish enough to think that I can help improve the game by testing.
I'll see you all somewhere else, or I won't. I should probably change my sig, while I'm at it.
despite what Tiggs has suggested: I don't think any of the veteran mBioE's will be 'respec'ing' to medic or trader. BioE has long been something more than either of these basic gamestyles, and I think we'll all miss the thorny little profession that the devs never figured out what to do with.
here's hoping the next week finds you all better than today. if you make it over to TC to test the NGE, give me a holler.
EDIT: after some consideration, I decided to leave the mod/dev messages stickied. I might be king in this realm, but I don't feel like flexing right now.

be nice to folks here on the forums. we all got some shocking news today, but that doesn't mean we all get to act like jerks. this isn't meant for anyone in THIS forum, particularly (you've all been quite civil)... it's just something that I think a lot of players are forgetting right now.
I'm not an SOE/LA apologist here... I'm strung tightly between feelings of rejection, betrayal, frustration, disappointment, and loss, myself. let's just all remember that we're in this together (or out of it together, as the case may be). for our own sakes, we ought to give this thing a chance before we make our minds up.
that doesn't mean that now isn't a perfect opportunity to cancel. a lot of folks will be taking this option, and I don't blame them. that also doesn't mean that this announcement was handled well. a lot of folks will be cancelling simply because of the secrecy and duplicity that has become apparent.
Master Bio Engineer
will still be allowed for veteran players, and only for veteran players who mastered the profession. when you're a Commando, and pwning nubs in factional PvP, let them know that once you were the master of a profession that defied the devs attempts to make work.
A sad day Lam, thanks for helping us. I know you correspondants where kept in the dark too. It shows there was not communication really. I appreciate all you did for us. Thanks for your hard work.

Here's to filling six houses, three factories, half a guild hall and half a city hall with DNA samples.
Here's to masking scent and walking to the bottom of the squill cave for the Hero of Tatooine quest.
Here's to duelling and defeating a gunbunny convinced he had found teh ubar template: "This sucks, beaten by a BE."
Here's to camping the RCSQ for a week solid.
Here's to refreshing, refreshing, refreshing, refreshing, refreshing, refreshing, refreshing, refreshing, refreshing, refreshing for a flock of deranged mantigrue.
Here's to losing a MR, RCSQ, IMB and others combine to a critical failure on assembly - after critical failures on assembly were removed from the game.
Here's to collecting eggs.
Here's to +89 BSNs that made the best brandy ever seen.
Here's to running away from a rancor, running back after he dropped aggro, running away again, running back again, running away again, running back again, running away again, running back again.
Here's to the "wow" factor of dropping a monster with one sample.
Here's to coming back from Endor or Dathomir with 1 health, 1 action and 1 mind.
Here's to noting down every sample, every combine, every pet, every experimentation result we ever saw. Here's to everyone - and there were lots of you - who knew this profession better than the devs.
Here's to every Chef, Tailor, Creature Handler or regular Joe who ever bought anything we made.

Here's to those who made them.

and if you DO continue to play the game, feel free to wear your former title proudly.

actually, even tho i am a master bio-engineer, i kind of enjoyed wearing the title "breeder"

Bah, i never enjoyed any professions as much as i did with BE and CH. This is definatly the last nail in the coffin for me aswell, as this is not the unique and diverse game i once bought.
Thanks all! and good luck![]()
BE/CH was my original goal in the game. Ended up delaying BE for a bit to play Doc/CM, then dropped CM for BE. Never did really get the hang of making pets. Tissues were my area of using my trade.
I'll never forget the original BE animations when taking DNA samples.
I'll never forget being a lone little toon on Dathomir braving the wilds, the nightsisters, and the other baddies to get Rancor DNA.
I'll never forget the shocked expression from one of the guys who stumbled upon one of my DNA gathering attempts when a Rancor died after I stuck it with my needle. Who needed to be an uber fighter to kill a rancor? Not me!
Then I learned how to use my BE talents in taking down factional bases. Oh what joy!
Sincefirst made a MBE, I've kept a MBE on my collection of toons.
Was a great profession, I was a forum lurker here.
Good luck to everyone!
