Thread: DNA Sampling tree

Just saw yet another post from someone complaining about the DNA Sampling tree and just had to vent. This is the easiest and quickest tree to finish in BE and I can't understand why so many people come to this forum and complain about it. My BE is now 3,3,4,4 and when I had finished the DNA tree, I was like 1,1,4,2. The only thing I can think of is that these people complaining are typical hologrinders who don't mind the crafting trees. Personally, I am sick to death of crafting for xp to finally master BE.Truth be told, I have only grinded supplements for one, mebbe one and a half skill boxes (as I can't stand grinding crafting), and all the rest of my crafting xp has come from making pets. I would much rather get 250xp for making a piket from garbage DNA than grinding a couple supplements.

If someone is complaining about the DNA tree, I think they should just go ahead and give up BE now. If they're only doing BE to make tissues and food additives, then more power to them, but don't come here and complain about the easiest tree to finish off, which is also the tree that pertains most to what BE is all about.

I'm just tired of seeing a couple new threads each week about "how do I grind through DNA tree" or "how to I macro the DNA tree", etc, when the real pain in the rear of the class is getting all the crafting xp.

Mebbe I'm just a bit screwy in the head having been a MCH on my primary character since around September and so the DNA sampling came easy to me. I did it by spending a couple nights at the Lost Village on Talus sampling sludge panthers and GSPs for the first couple boxes and the last two boxeson Dant sampling pikets, or Dath sampling brackesets and baz nitches. Come to thik of it, I must be screwy as with this character I'm also going up the CH trees (last time I did CH was way pre-nerf, this post nerf xp bites). Mebbe this is why I am so upset about seeing SOE treating BE the same way they have CH (like the evil stepchild of the game).

Oh well, sorry, I just had to vent.

Are you using a griding micro ?Ive been told grinding takes 12 hours for all 3 trees. Get yourself a macro, grind for a hour or 2 at a time. Youll finish without goign insaine

I finished dna sampling first, and crafting the pets I made out of that dna gave me 3 level 1 boxes (no grinding tissues). This is a very enjoyable profession! I don't understand the whining.

I was one of the very first Master Bio Engineers in the game. I was at it when dna sampling was so easy it was amazing. There were hardly any failures in dna sampling and you could sample any one creature 4-7 times before it died. And that was at any level of dna sampling. I am now working on mastering Bio Engineer for the third time because of some stupidity. (not because of holo's mind you) Upon doing it the third time, I find it is a bit more difficult than before. But I came up with an awesome solution. I know most BE's use the /dismount ; /sampledna; /mount macro, but I don't.

Here's what I did. I'm a Master TK. I've stripped myself of all my armor. I take 2 shots of brandy. The brandy helps in 2 ways. You get more of a mind pool and less of a drain. I head over to Dantooine, take 2 10k Picket Plains Walkers missions, and head out to do some sampling. If I'm successful on the sampling for a picket it's 346 xp and for a picket plains walker it's 370 xp. If they aggro due to too many failures, I'll kill them. As soon as my fullness from the brandy subsides half way, I take another shot for even more mind and less drain. This enables me to sample without having to sit down and wait for my mind to regenerate. This goes really quick if it's done right.

This is the first time working on BE. I did the crafting skill boxes first just to get them out of the way. I am now half way through box 3 in DNA sampling. I enjoy the thrill of DNA. What I do not like is the fact that sometimes I can get three or four successful DNA samples then 10 or more failures. There has to be a better way to figure out the failure rate. Other then that I am having fun with this profession.

I found 2 static bolle bol lairs on naboo and ran between them for 3 hours, everytime I returned to one it would have at least 3-6 bols up. Worked perfectly, 310 exp for each and no risk for db.-

I like gurks (sp?) on Lok. They give me like 350 or so exp (I'm only workingon my second box so far, so it'll probably be different for most). They're also good exp for me as a novice fencer, and I can take them pretty easily (long fight, though) with buffs.

I have not heard of sampling Gurks. I have been spending all of my time on Dant sampling Picketts. I shall now have to head to Lok for a change of pace.
