Take a look at what this nutter thinks.
It's How everyone can afford to have a vendor.....whatI never realized (doh) and this person and even the Devs probably do not realize is that we need, an absolute must for us Bio-Engineers is EXPLORATION IV as a minimum.
You might want to point your Doc and CM friends to this post also.
Why....is Exploration IV not a requirement for us?
Why...is it a requirement for CH's?...oh, so they can tame wild and vicious right?
Say, anyone know a Ranger could get me a few MR dna's? I'll pay well.
maybe an engineer without exploration IV could do it?
/bonk WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?
aside from the Merchant Tissue (+1 hiring) we should be able to make for non-artisians I think we also need
a THINKING tissue +20 to knowledge and understanding
right now I need a freaking STIFF DRINK TISSUE!
/hugs to all =)

I'll tell you guys this too
At Master Bio-Engineer level WE SHOULD get the same experimentation levels on ACRDM's, Bio eff's, and ...

I completely agree with you Bountyhunterserb, but the post got me thinking that the DEV's should know it is not possible to do a Bio-Engineers job without Hunting IV.
not possible...at all
btw I do have a merchant I use from a friend
But it's not possible to do all facets ofthe Bio-Engineer really well and have a vendor.

It is possible to be a BE (and be a pet crafter) without mask scent.
I wouldnt recommend it but it is possible.

I disagree. I'm a MBE, 0/0/4/4 Artisian, 3/0/0/1 Merchant, 4/0/4/0 Scout and can do all aspects of Bio Engineering really well and I have 3 vendors.

I bet you die a lot too.
A kreetle could kill you.
Actually, no I don't. Since I made Master I've never diedwhile sampling (including Mutant Rancors). I've been incapped a couple of times, but never a DB. I usually wear a composite BP (just in case), mask scent shirt and pants, and I don't pay for buffs (just use synthsteak, brandy, and jawa beer)

I tried something similar to this but gave up for just one reason - I could buy thousands of Carnivore meat and even Wild meat, but getting INSECT meat was a pain in the bottom ![]()
I picked up combat again so I can hunt the stuff that no-one else bothers with unless it's FOTW and selling for 50cpu+...

Its pretty clear from that thread that bio-engineers are not seen as crafters. One post spoke of removing BE and incorporating it into other crafting classes. I'm not sure if they were joking or not but it sure struck a chord.
Regardless, I don't see the merchant class helping our cause a whole lot. If anything is to be done we'll most likely have to do it ourselves.

Ahh but that's what my alt is for. He's on his way to Master Rifleman, 4/0/0/4 CH, and 0/0/4/0 Ranger

grr...i dont really like the complacency of alts
i mean if you want to spend the extra 15 a month to enhance your main character, thats of course all well and good, but the game should be perfectly accessible to those of us with only one account. It seems the more ubiquitous players with alts are getting, the more there's a feeling that you have to have an alt to compete - just like you have to have 12 point AS or WS or Chef to compete.
