Just wondering how many 'active' BE's are involved in base takedown squads.
I'm working on the SOP and trying to get a feel for exactly what is going on with this - are you being asked to do this? Do you do it? What are your non BE skills? How do you feel being an overt crafter? Do you think there are more PvP templates including just the basic Novice BE for this purpose?

I get asked to do bases.

I've always been a combat BE and am currently retooling my template as we now have a family Merchant and Artisan who have taken my Survey and Vendor duties off me

I'm now picking up Bounty Hunter (thanks to the new changes), mainly for the PvE effectiveness of the LLC but also for the Carbine KDs in PvP. I don't need to do high damage since I work in a team when I do PvP. I knock 'em down, the other guys lay down the damage.

I'm Master BE and staying that way. I'll never be a 'duelist', but as part of a team, I'm ok.

i use to back when i was TKM/MBE but now the server has got to the point where rebels are constantly defending (due to the large number of sith that 'grace' our server). the pvp squad in my guild is exausted and many of them are quitting the game. shame really .

I've done it when I was a master BE/ranger. I gave up master BE for a while and am now almost back there. I have been asked to do it and have done it. I thought it was very exciting, I just haven't gotten a complete handle on the whole dna sequencing thing yet.

i've been ased and i'm happy to do it if i've got the time to spare. currently i'm working towards MBE/Master pikeman. so far i've been asked 2 times since i mastered BE a week and a half to two weeks ago, was able to go once, but had to turn down the other time as i was logging very soon . i'm not sure if there are people who take novice be for this purpose. from my experience MBE's or people who actually do be have been used. i've though about seeing what all would work though to see how many of the professions needed you could be to do an effective base takedown, and how many people would be needed at an absolute minimum.

just checked on a char builder, and it turns out it is possible to take down a base single-handedly hehe...it costs 241 of your skill points, but you can have all of the requirements to kill a base. it leaves you with 9, which can be spent convenienly on the rest of the slicing line in smuggler to give you a the ability to slice weps and armor well just an interesting little tidbit i found out.

The previous guide to this explained it very well, I haven't done this in a while however. Iwas anMBE/MCH/Marksman 0400 and have done it as an MBE/MCH/Ranger 0030. In either case as a Wookiee as well I never jumped in the middle of things more waited on the outskirts till it was my turn.

Yeah, so about a month ago... I was a fresh MBE, only having played the game a few weeks. My guild leader said he and some friends were going to raid the Atlantis base and said they "needed me". First of all, I was flattered for being "needed", and was somewhat confused as I didn't even have a master combat prof. So we neatly clean up the base, and he sends me a tell... "ok, you're up". I was confused... "up for what?", "get over to the terminal" he said.

Needless to say a lot of people were pissed, we could have easily taken out Atlantis that night, except for the dumbass BE, me... oh well. Turns out Atlantis has since fallen. Anyhow, just thought I would relay my story.

As a Master BE/Master TKA I used to be extremely active in base takedowns.

The process for a BE is incredibly time consuming, but I have always been a valuable asset. My main toon is not a BE anymore, that is for my alt, but I am constantly having to explain to new BE's how to take bases down. Its nice to have a BE on a takedown team, but without combat skills you are more of a hindrence I think, at least if there is much oposition..

I don't like taking bases down anymore though... it just reenforces people not declaring, which kinda sucks

I'm a Master BE/Doc, and I honestly feel like a fish out of water inBase Takedowns. The only things I can do are the BE terminal, heal poisons/disease, and hope nobody attacks me. Dunno if i'm the only one that feels uncomfortable being an Overt crafter in the middle of a Rifleman/CM battle trying to hack a seemingly random terminal.

I kinda feel the same... The problem is the prereqs for novice BE make it such that other professions are fairly difficult to fit in... and if you are just a novice be you aren't good for anything but takedowns. To do much of anything real effectively as a BE you need to be a master, and that opens enough SP for like 1 other profession, if you Don't want to be a merchant...

This is something that I don't actively look to do, however people in my guild regularly look for bases to take down, and being a BE, I am included in the take down team.

PvP with a 3 or more second lag in a game just sucks, no matter how you do it. PvP also comes down to who followed the uber template and has the best looted components for armor and weapons. Throw on top of that combat medics with their exploit AoEs and PvP pretty much sucks edits in this game. The crafting system is excellent and the PvE is interesting enough, so I keep paying.

Once I am down with a base take down, I go back to being overt and wait out the hour in a house usually afk. With the BH changes it is now possible to set up a template that would let one person pretty much do all the terminals in a base by themselves. They may not have the combat ability to get in the front door though, but that is another matter.

Non BE skills are CH/Swordsman

Ok for those of us that do the whole range in BEing things...here's the "combat portion"

What's your best time going through a base takedown? Post it here, and (if you can) edit it as you get better!

Truth is this portion of the base takedown is partially "luck of the draw," so if you have the patience and numbers to get an average time feel free to do that too! If you care to post how many bases you havesuccessfully killed, go ahead and do that too

I'll start!

Bases taken down: 11
