IS there any real way to have "fun" w/ sampling? I'm halfway through my third box and I beyond bored. If anyone has any ideas of how to get these boxes over with quicker or some way to enjoy sampling, let me know.

THANKS!

I always get a kick out of challenging myself. At thrid box, you should be on dantor yavin. find some tougher than nails yellows and get stomped on.

Me and a friend (who is learning the dark arts of BE) went to Endor (research) to finish off his dna4. Immediately, we were surrounded by mantigrue reapers. Mask scent went up and every 15 seconds another red blip would turn white. It's actually pretty neat to see a group of BEs mass sampling. We found a couple blood-frenzied boar wolves (power 560) and proceeded to DNA them into extinction. Also saw a Blurrg Raptor. CL141 with 72k ham, resists are ok, but had ar2. was an awesome trip.

try and make a game out of it. Iam not a BE, but when iam grinding chef, I try and see how many Ithorian Mists I can make in a set amount of time. My record is 5 in 30 seconds.

heck, do missions and buy stuff. venom filled arachne are easy, 11k, and give 3.4k weapon xp for the lair. when there's money involved, i'm always having fun

DING DING DING DING DING!!!

XP Needed for DNA3 or 4+ Endor + Mission Terminals= Lots of money to blow on grinding materials, weapons, armor, and drug habbits.

Sampling on itty bitty critters is no fun at all. I'm usually a captain of efficiency when it comes to XP, but I decided to enjoy the DNA climb. Plus it gave me some time to play around with this new crafting system. Technically it's probably faster to just stay on Naboo or Corellia and sample the heck out of a bunch of medium level critters (and less dangerous), but it does nothing to prepare you for your life as a master... which will include lots of running unless you have a good combat field as a backup.

Allright.. i have Sample 3 right now, more than half way to 4. I can tell you can have fun also on Naboo or others more civilized planets. Just go for big stuff.

I have thsi adrenaline rushes when i sample Plains Hunters (they are CL 31 and extremely aggressive).. i usually place my bike just meters away get down and sample... with my finger ready on the Suppresson fire key.

I wait..... wait.... Combat music AAAAH! Suppression fire!!! run to bike... enter vehicle and GAS!!!!! woah!

Then wait a bit.. return back and do it again until it dies.

Best Critter on Naboo? Gungan Fambaa. Bigger and tougher than normal fambaas... and by a whole lot i mean. they give 493 XP per sample.

I'm on Dantooine sampling piket after piket. YAWN. I have over 1mil credits so I'm not even concerned bout money. I just want this to go faster. I actually have more fun crafting. Should I move to endor? I am getting around 350xp per sample. Is this good or can I do better?

Best Exp I've seen so far has been sampling Rancors on Dath at over 800 exp per sample. If you want excitement, go sample rancors. The most stressful time I've had in the game to date was my first time walking into the middle of a rancor group and start sticking them.

Can I sample rancors at lvl2 sampling? I'm actually, a 0/0/2/0 working on box 3 now. I don't fail too much at all on the pikets but I want some good xp. Also, my mask scent sucks. It always dies. I'm a 2/0/4/0 scout. My skills points are almost all tied up and can't go 4/0/4/0.

There's your biggest problem there. Mask Scent is probably the most important skill for a BE to have, and the ironic part is that it's not part of the BE prerequisites. Don't get discouraged. From my experiences and what I've heard from others, working on the box for DNA Sampling 3 is the absolute worst. Every ex-BE I know gave it up at this point, as they lost interest. Once you hit DNA 3, your success rate goes up, and you can sample the same big critters several times over. I can't stress how important Mask Scent is, though. Find someone selling BE enhanced clothing, and get yourself an outfit with +25 to Mask Scent/Camo.

Don't even try sampling Rancors unless you have Exploration 4 and DNA Sampling 4. Your Mask Scent will almost always break before you even get close to these guys, and if you do actually sneak up on one, you'll more than likely fail and have that big ugly beast taking swipes at you. My first and only time trying to sample a Rancor, it whacked me once before I got away and tagged me with a disease that have me 649 health wounds in about 10-20 seconds. Yep, I have 650 health, so I had a whopping 1 point until I found a Doc to heal my wounds. Like an idiot, I didn't bring any Health woundpacks with me on this sampling trip.

Overall, I'd say Endor is your best bet for sampling XP. Blurrgs are great, and the best part is they don't DB, so even if they attack and you can't get away in time, you won't get repeatedly sent to the cloners. Bark Mite Burrower and BMB Queens give fantastic XP, as do Mantigrue Screechers.

Take it from a BE who was about to quit at the same point you are at. Stick with it, get your DNA Samping 3, and then have fun with it. DNA Sampling 4 is even easier to get than DNA Sampling 2 in my opinion, because you can repeat-sample much bigger creatures. The XP comes in much faster and easier.

Good luck with it, and let us know how it goes.

Find some really nastydungeons or cavesand try to get down to sample the boss at the very bottom without suffering any aggro while en route. Not exactly fun per say, but definently something to get the heart pounding

DNA 4 was the best to get. I got it in a few hours on Dant doing pickets/huurtons and bols. Take plenty of Moun Gold and you can do it in a few hours. Either do missions, or like I did, just walk around and sample every lair you find to death. Once you make DNA 3, you are over the hump.

After DNA Sampling 1, I started doing Sharnaff missions on Corellia and then would sample gurrcats or some such to get a mix of DNA. When I was full inventory, I'd go back to the lab and make some Frankenstein creations (2 parts Sharnaff... 3 parts Gurrcat... Durni skin... Muhahahahaha CL10!) and give them away to my PA mates or CH'es looking to tame/train/release. That broke up the monotony and also taught me some things about my crafting along the way. But I do have to say that one side trip to Dantooine got me about half of DNA Sampling 3 before I filled my inventory and went home to make a CL22 Durni with 45% Kinetic resists. This *was* a holocron profession... now it is just a whole lot of fun!

My path, thanks to my mentor Bolara, was:

Macro Grind Micronutrient Supplements through Engineering Techniques IV (7 experimentation points)

DNA Sample little critters for Sampling I, make creatures with samples (never destroy samples) and resample them to death. I experimented on them so I could learn about the system.

Work through DNA Sampling 2-4 and Clone Engineering 1-4 by sampling, creating creatures, resampling to death, and grinding micronutrient supplements. I got a little bored with grinding here and got Tissues 1-2 just to be able to screw around with some low level tissues for a while. Actually sold about 200 +5-+7 Constrictor Cloth, Scent Mask and Passive Biosensors to aspiring Tailors on the Bazaar. Charged 50cr per bonus.

Finish up with Tissues to get to master.

I have been giving away creations to friends since I started, often replacing old builds with newer, betterones, and have had some success selling pets to non-CHes.
