Thread: Pet Pricing
Sorry if this is somewher else. But itried searching and found nothing.
I have some pets in my droid and I need to get rid of them. Many are non CH usable (the odd Rock Beetle and so on). I was wondering if anyone had come up with a good pricing scheme that can be used with most if not all pets with no to little changing variables included.
Thanks
Here is how I base "some" of my pet prices....(Master CH btw)
Lets say "player01" wants a new cupa for pet and I'm on Tatooine. Well its pretty much cake walk to get one, (go to mission terminal, look for 2 cupa missions, and 99 percent of the time you are going to have one baby cupa spawn out of those two lairs)..so I tame it and run back to "player01"...Name it, Train it, Trade it, Voila! That prob takes me 10 mins if that...So I charge around 3 to 4k a cupa..
A couple things (just my opinion and others will have theirs own) go into that 3 or 4k.....the commandsI am able to teach it, the amount of time that I am "hired" for.
Now...Let's say "player01" wants a Cowardly Gurreck from Endor and I'm on Tatooine. Well that is not cake walk missoin. If I have to spend almost 11k in credits in just travel cost you can bet that pet is going to cost more than 15k. A pet like a cowardly gurreck you have to look for and is on a planet that is 10X more dangerous than a Cupa...So i might die several times and might take me an hour to just find a lair...or get one to spawn. So I on average charge 20k per Cowardly gurreck.
It really on depends on how you are willing to base "your worth"
For example, why should I spend 2 hours looking for a Cowardly Gurreck for someone who is only willing to pay hmm 12k credits...when it cost me 10k credits to travel,,(IfI dont have one already from maybe playing around on Endor etc.) When i can spend those 2 hours doing missions on Dantooine for example and make 100k easy....
There is just lots of factors that go into pricing pets....
Do I have one on me?, Do I have to spend credits on travel?, How many hours is it going to take me?, Is it full grown?, What lvl creature is it?, How rare is it?
Just tons of things to think about...
Sorry if I couldn't be more specific on lots of pets etc...Just wanted to share a little thought into how I price pets....
Master Creature Handler,
Brogar
ITs all in the markededing hehe.
For non ch pets i usaly sell rock betlees, as they are the best one.
They are easy to get so i charge 10 k for those, cowardly gurrecks is much harder to get and i need to go endor to get one so i wouldnt sell those for less than 20-25 k.
Gwix and gsp i sell for 30 k.
The tting is to not sell for less than what YOU tink they are worth.
IF a guy wont buy your pet for YOUR prise well then he can go find another seller becose i will ALWAYS find another buyer.
Made 260 k today selling pets of all lwls.
Well prises will depend more on awailability than lwl.
A rock beetle is piss easy to get so i sell them for 8-10 k so lower than a 1k per lwl.
A mauler is hard to get and take me a long hike into dathomir and is always a hasle to get so i charge 40-50k
If some guy wanna sell their pets for cheap well then its his loss.
I wont sell a pet that takes me ages to get unless it will turn a profit. then i could do missions instead.
Saw a guy today selling fully grown Gsp`s for 20 k....
I mean its a hasle to search for them, then he is having em in his datapad for 6 days, then sell it for far less than its worth ?
He sold his 3 in 5 min, 15 min after he left, i sold my 2 babys for 30 k each ![]()
Anyway i am rambling but my point is dont sell the good pets for less than what they are worth for YOU.
Selling at dumping prises hurts everyone.
good point, but i actually should of clarified that a bit more .... i was referring to the non ch pets
charging 1k per level plus expenses if i have to buy tickets and such
If I sell pets (which I rarely do), I let them go for 1k per Challenge Level + 100 per command they want it taught.
I would probably up that to 1.5k per CL for very hard to find/tame critters.
Nobody that has asked me to locate and tame a creature for them has complained about these prices, at least not to my face. ![]()
creature handlers unite!!! i tried selling a kahmurra today, nice pet btw, level 15 2700 ham 170 max dam, all i wanted for it was 5k. which is what i was selling most babies for pre-transfer patch. i needed the space so i figured let me sell it for this price now and clear some space. i was planning to go to endor anyway and get as many cg's as possible. anyway this guy looked interested until he found out the price. 5k? you have to be kidding me! i can get it for much cheaper anyway! so i say ok go right ahead. i think my prices are fair, just wait until people start realizing what the space on their datapad is worth. you wont be able to afford a gnort. well 10 minutes later he tells me he bought a kaadu for 200 cr. when i asked who was the noob that did that he refused to tell me. he went on about how that guy was going to be a millionaire selling pets at that price and blah blah blah. whatever, he would have to tame train and sell 75 kaadu for every c.gurreck i sell easily at 15k. which i happened to sell 2 of them AND a gualama for 35k to a customer and her sister within 10 minutes. he couldnt even find a kaadu in 10 minutes. my guess is he was lying and all he wanted was me to lower my prices for him. well too bad. i stick with my guns. yeah once in a while i fell generous and may give a 10-20% discount but thats when i had a lot of one creature to sell. heres where i would start at non ch prices: levels 1-5 (house pets) 3k, levels 6-10(so-so pets) 6k, 11-15(good solid pets) 12k with the exception of a few which would be the rock beetle, c.gurreck, kahmurra, anything with over 2200 ham. these would be premium pets, say 20-25k. i would also factor in theidea that a certain pet may be a future mount. cupas, gualamas, banthas(lvl 14?), and the like that seem mountable should be upped in price also. i dont know about all the other ch's but even at +12 (+2) stored pets my datapad real estate has just become that much more valuable to me.
