Thread: Question about the upcoming Jan 04 patch.
Is it true that SWG is going to make my new Super Non CH pet go bye bye when this patch is released?
Is the DNA bugged or something and they are now going to screw me out of alot of money because they mase a mistake?
Thank you for your time.
Someone told me it in the game, and said that the devs had already said that they are going to make all of the "Super Pets" created by BE's go bye bye in the next patch. I just paid a BE 450k for mine and I am alittle more that PO'ed at the thought of looing him in less than 3 weks.
That is what I heard, and iam here now just trying to find out if it is actually true, and if so, where can I find these update Dev notes at?
Thank you for your time?
I'm getting sick of hearing people sprouting "facts" like they have a Dev in their bedroom.
If there is a hotfix to anything BE it hasn't been announced anywhere yet. Until you see a post from a _Dev_ on any of this your only hearing from rumor mongers and gossips.
Not spouting facts just a firm believer in if it's looks too good to be true it probably is. Baring any comment from a DEV I make sure any buyer is fully aware of this before I sell one of these.
Just sit around with your MBE tag on for awhile it's about all you'll be asked for these days.
I wasn't "having a go" at you Joil.
If there is a bug, a Dev is yet to declare it and even what that bug actually is.
"Too high a HAM" isn't a bug. Specific DNA used in a specific way to produce an anomalous result outside the boundries of the system is a bug, and as the players haven't been informed of what those boundries are, and the system STILL isn't actually understood, players can't make that call.
If there is a problem, the Devs will fix it once they're are back from holidays. If _they_ deam the pets in question gamebreaking, they will also fix that. Players running around like Henny Penny psudodevs will not help the situation one bit.
I seriously doubt they'll be a big patch on a Sunday. If there's much to be fixed, they'll have a look at it on Monday then maybe a Tuesday or Wednesday patch if it's an emergency. Since it'll affect quite a few people, the devs will make some sort of announcement on the main board before touching everyone's fresh new pets.
In regard to "gamebreaking" or "too good to be true", I received a 2300+ health buff last night. That's not too good to be true? After my TKA buff I had a sick amount of health, was tanking 3-4 warriors on Endor with no problems using 65% ubese armor. Then pulled out my flamethrower (TKA/Commando/Rifle combo is very nice), did a Flame Cone and lit all 4 spiders up at once and finished them off for a sick amount of meat harvesting. After about 2 hours, I had a stack of 960+ OQ insect meat to die for.
Was a 3 foot high Zabrack supposed to tank 4 Warriors? Heck I can annihilate a Raptor too in just a few seconds with no chance of dying or getting incapped. So a 10k health lvl 9 pet doesn't look too powerful to me, at least from my vantage point. IMHO of course.

Actually, there are two bugs that are pretty clear.
1) When using DNA that has 0 resists across the board (like nocuous kamurith) experimenting in Physique actually generates resists across the board. This is a bug. You should not be able to use experimentation to create stats that never existed in the creatures you sampled DNA from. WHne you do this it also artificially lowers the CL.
2) The HAM of creatures has zero effect on their CL. This is a bug. WIld CL10 creatures have, on average, about 1000HAM. To be able to create CL10 creatures with 10,000HAM is clearly bugged and the bug is that the CL calculation does not take HAM, resists, or special attacks into consideration. Apprently, the CL of a creature is determined solely on their DPS which is really silly. This allows a good BE to keep sampling clones losing a bit of DPS every generation while using their experimentation points to keep the HAM high so the CL goes down while the HAM stays the same. Its a bug. WHen I make CL10 pets I intentionally stop experimenting when the HAM is over 5000 so as not to make such outrageously overpowered CL10 creatures.
On another note, no dev has made any statement acknowledging these bugs or stating when or what nerf may be coming to them.
