Thread: IMPORTANT Question concerning new non ch pets being made and sold with 6 to 9k health

Here's the thing though. We don't get krayt tissues and pearls. We don't get looted armor segments. We don't get rancor bile. We don't even get quest schematics (though maybe the upcoming bio-lab will introduce some). We get generational sampling. Those items are what other crafts use to make the best possible items they can so I'm going to keep using the tool given us to make the best possible pets. No matter how often they make pets invalid or lower the bar, I'm going to keep putting in the extra effort to make pets at thier limit. For as long as the devs stay quiet about what the rules are, all we have is player speculation. I don't sell these pets for an exhorbitant amount so I will be willing to give full refunds when they are nerfed (and I don't doubt they will be), unlike most BE's here. Until then, I want my customers to get the max possible enjoyment out of my product that they can while they can. If you don't like satisfying your customers, don't sell pets.
I applaud your ethics of refunding your customers (5 starred ya)Lozareth but just because we as BE can do something doesnt meanwe should...
I understand what you're saying about krayt tissues and such BUT we already can create, without that stuff, far better pets then you could ever obtain in the wild.
In the end, while I want to see the BE crafting system stay "dynamic" and "challenging" I dont want a bunch of commandos and BH running around with 6k ham pets.
As a MCH I had my profession (one that I love just as much as my MBE profession) NERFED to all hell because non-ch and CH dabblers were abusing our pets throwing the game outa balance... Now I see BEs making the same type of pets that got us (CH) nerfed to begin with.. super duper high RES and armored CL35 pets and NEVER seen before (non-exploit) 6k ham CL10 pets.
I personally refuse to make those kind of pets... I dont take advantage of a sh*tty crafting system that allow very high stats and low CL by using combines of 2nd+ gen DNA with first gen DNA mixed together in a certain order.
In fact, if BE continue to find these loop holes I wouldnt put it past the Devs to just un-do the cool new BE crafting system and just give us a more "static" one basedon the past ![]()
A 3k ham pet a CL10 should really be the upper limit... and it shouldnt be as easy as dasher and pup DNA.. In fact it should take some special tissue (like krayt with WS)to make.
Thats just my opinion.

being a just above be myself i cant make anything that crazy
but i have at 0/1/1/1 been able to make cl8 pets with nearly 3k ham and not bad damage and specials.
so i dont think its a bug or exploit, just good use of experiment points
Anyone who sells these without at least attaching a warning or disclaimer should watch out or you may have some very disgruntled customers in the near future.
Most of the 10's I've been making with midrange 6kish health - have LOUSY action and mental, little to no damage - and a whole host of vunerabilities. I was always under the impression that that was exactly what we were SUPPOSED to do - trade off resists and stats for others.
I've personally not seen any with 9k health - not doubting there is some combination or multi-gen technique that can create them, but I've not run into it yet myself - course I haven't really been chasing that either.
I am also a little suspect of some screenshots I've seen - whether we can still make pets 'too good' - but most of what I've been making in the 10 range lately have been mounts - so even if they do come along with a second pass of the nerfstick - hopefully they'll still be useful for their prime intended purpose.
An interesting thread and a philosophical one. I can't add significantly to the outstanding argument Lozareth already put forward, but I do have some points. I think it's funny that on one hand, we have a few members that are weighing in on the side of "we should never create anything more powerful than a guessed at standard" and in the same thread we have someone going "whoa...recipe please?" Excuse the paraphrasing.
Folks, we didn't write the crafting code for BE. The developers did. Their design, we have seen in the past, has had imperfections that were identified by players and subsequently fixed (the dna combinations that allowed the now invalid creations). As Lozareth plainly stated, we have no documentationandonly vague guidelines to work with. I am of like mind when it comes to wringing every last drop of usefulness out of the current system and giving my customers the most for their money. I plan continuing to make pets at every level with the maximum resistances, HAM, damage and abilities I can. Frankly we are testing the code for them and doing the developersa service.
Lastly Kachina, you bandy about some pretty strong words including exploiting. If you can show me one example of a Bio-engineer getting banned for making what is now an invalid pet, please do so. If I am to believe that your intentions are for the good of the profession and that you are not at all upset that someone is selling a "better" product and siphoning off your customers, you would be well served to avoid slinging terms like this around. Lozareth has stated he is granting full refunds if his creations become invalid and in any case it's his headache if it happens not yours. If the developers address this again and it brings us closer to a working, documented system, so much the better.
