Thread: My First Painful Order...
- Is this nature-defying creature even possible? If so, is Javac's method for lvl 21-30 light armor 60% kinetic usable to the fourth generation? If the creature isn't possible, what is the closest thing I can come to?
- How much do I charge this guy? The highest he suggested before I even started collecting was 60k, LOL. I may have only sold about a dozen or so pets, but I know that my time on this creature alone is worth MUCH more than that.
- I need a hug
Ok, the third isn't a question but more of a request... this is already giving me stress ![]()
I just talked it over with him and he said he could do without the light armor. Whew.
I can still do the rest, right?
To help with the pet, I'd suggest a couple of DNA creature samples (I'm not all that experienced as a BE, so it's more advise than anything
Merek Death Heads (For the specials, 10% resists across the board, Light Armour)
Merek Harvesters (75 % Kinetic Resist, Light Armour)
Bark Mite Burrowers (65 % Kin Resists, Light Armour)
Kamurith species (Low to zero resists, light armour)
I threw in the Low resists and Vulnerables, just so you could balance things off and hopefully lower the CL. Another useful tip I've sorta learnt, is to just experiment till you get light armour, maybe one point into Prowress to get the Action Bar on par, and leaving things like Aggression be (This is from Javac's thread, giving credit where it's due
What really got me to post a reply though, was an increasing frustration at people asking us BEs to make impossible pets. We're BEs, not miracle workers. While we can do some pretty nifty pets, a CL18 with Light Armour and 60% Kin resist and Strong Poison? Andyou're not allowed to charge more than 60K for it? True, if it were a generic 34/35 CL pet, where most of us have a recipe figured for certain level templates. Andif you did manage it, the time and effort you took into generation cloning should allow you to charge a fee you thought was worth your time.I would really like to send a pretty rude email to this customer of yours right now.
Sorry Cloudrak once again, for using this to voice my frustrations, non of it was directed at you of course. It's been a long night with the Mutant Rancors.G'luck with the pet mate!

Right now I am 4/2/4/4 and I am going for master BE... This is my first difficult order...
Last night, while taking a break from unsuccessful nonCH pets to kill innocent tuskans at Fort Tuskan, I was given a /tell for an order (oh, how i do prefer emails)
The request boiled down to this: lvl 18 or lower, razor cat, light armor, 60%, strong poison or disease... /gulp
Not only that, but he wanted me to stop everything I was doing and make it for him now; a difficult task since I JUST started stocking up on DNA (with 4 frenzied graul samples /drool) and my house is on Corellia, not Tatooine where I was at the time of the tell.
I told him that the only way I thought it might be possible was to use Javac's samples of Merek Harvesters, Bark Mite Burrower, and Toxic Merek Battlelords or something... but I'd have to go so far as 4th generation... icky.
I have a few questions for the seasoned BEs out there...

1. Possible - maaayyybe, but certainly not legal as soon as the patch hits. You could relatively easily get everything other than the light armor at that CL, would have to have a lot of vulns to compensate for the high kinetic though.
2. I wouldn't even have bothered asking here for 60k for pet like this from a person like that. Seriously
If the guy isn't willing to spend 6 figures, then he isn't worth me spending time and effort on a custom pet imo, unless he is a long standing customer.
3. /wookiehug
Bit of advice - tell people asking for custom orders that you need 24hours *minimum* to turn it around. If they don't accept that, they can find another BE because you really don't need to bother with demanding, rude customers. That said, almost all customers are great and more than willing to work with you. Any smart CH knows full well the pet is going to take 3-5 days to grow up anyway, so them getting on your back about getting it now is pretty pointless. Just don't deal with with the ones that cause stress - its not fun ![]()
Here is what I finally made...
lvl 17 Razor Cat
HAM = 5309/5309/5004
kinetic = 55%
heat/acid = 21%
all rest were vul
attack speed = 2.37
damage = 70-75
to hit = .27
no specials or ranged
I had ranged all the way through but the last step.
I used merek harvester, bark mite burrower, BMB, BMB, and a sample from one of the only nonCH pets i have been able to make thus far. it had the lowest damage so i put that in aggression to lower the lvl. and boy did that lower it, to 21 or 23 (i did this several times for reason following) so i sampled the DNA of that guy, but only got 2 samplesfrom it before it poofed on me
i didnt eve fail either
so i did that again, luckily my nonCH pet didnt poof, but i dont want to try it again
so what should i charge for this bad boy? considering i went to endor twice, died more times that even a wookiee should, and had my bike "disabled" (dont you just love euphomisms?) three times
i dont like being greedy but i dont want to literally give this pet away, its a great pet.
I dont want to hijack this thread but could someone give me a link to a thread that explains y its so hard to make non-ch pets? i make them all the time with no trouble and usually only charge around 3-5k (since i dont have to go anywhere and have the recipe down).
thx to anyone who could
oh yea, and imho, i dont really think that order is worth the time unless u know the guy.
